*More people play the main series(hand-held versions) than the console games and spin-offs. In ''my'' opinion, our end goal(the completion of every class article, containing detailed information on every trainer of that class and the Pokémon they use) is much more useful than a few screenshots from games that aren't as widely played. Just my position on the subject, though.

There's something wrong about the page... the stuff on the side and top of the page are all screwy and puny.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 01:16, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

It was the Trainer Class stub template. The same thing happened to me with my userpage template because I forgot to close the div tag. - espeonA 01:29, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh, yes Sorry. I thought that was just me.--Clarky13 08:43, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Trainer Classes with only one trainer...

OK, I just want to set this straight, because I'm not sure everyone's on the same page. First, for my opinion: I don't think Trainer Classes which correspond to only one trainer (Pike Queen, Galactic Boss...) deserve their own page, and rather should be redirects to the trainer in question. Why? Well, because there is no way the two articles can coexist in this wiki without
a) Relegating the trainer class article to stub status permanently (Roulette Goddess and Dahlia) or
b) Repeating exactly the same as the trainer's article (Mysticalman and Eusine).
I mean, look at the Mysticalman article and the Eusine article. The "In the anime" section of Mysticalman is just a summarized version of the Eusine anime section. Also, the sentences "Mysticalman wear a purple tuxedos-like costumes with a cape. They usually carry around a Poké Ball in their hand." don't really make any sense since they act like there are several Mysticalmen, when in fact there is only one, Eusine. I agree that describing his appearance is somewhat necessary, but rewriting it to refer to only Eusine and putting it in his "In the games" section would be more than enough. The Pokémon strategies he uses could as well be put in that section. Essentially, having a separate article for trainer and class would be having two different articles on the exact same subject.
However, before I did anything drastic, since I notice you've put a lot of effort in expanding these articles (and I think ones like Bug Catcher do have a lot of merit), I'd like to see if you agree with my reasoning. At first I thought Clarky13 agreed with me, but he's the one expanding these one-trainer-only pages, so I'd like to know exactly if we're on the same page. Perhaps even make it a policy within the project so that confusion like this doesn't happen again. Memo326 16:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I get your point. I agree with your reasoning. However, in some case, a title can be shared by two different characters (ie Tower Tycoon, title shared by Anabel(in Japanese) and Palmer). I guess the Trainer Classes you were referring to must be a redirect, as of now. --×Kevzo8 14:00, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, for the late response guys. I'm a bit unsure of it myself and there seems to be some varied responses amongst users. There has been some debates on the forums and it hasn't really gone anywhere. So we will have a vote on it. Those who want to keep all the trainer classes as a separate page, sign their name under "Separate" and give a short comment on why you have chosen this. Those who want to merge some of the one-person trainer class into a corresponding page, sign their name under "Merge" and give a short comment on why you have chosen this. The majority wins.--Clarky13 22:02, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Separate

Merge

  • Memo326 00:33, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
My reasoning is already up in the wall of text that begins this section, but here is what I think should be done in a nutshell:
  • Trainer classes with only one trainer (i.e. Pike Queen Lucy) should be redirected to the respective character's page.
  • Trainer classes with counted and separately identifiable trainers (i.e. Commander, since there only is Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, all important and independent characters with their own page) should be either minimal disambiguation pages or merged into a bigger article (in this case, Team Galactic)
  • Tower Tycoon should redirect to Palmer, since he's the only Tycoon in English (the official language of this wiki), but putting a notice at the top of his article à la Cyrus ("For the head of the Battle Tower in Hoenn, see Salon Maiden Anabel")
  • ×Kevzo8 00:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
  • I think characters who are of somewhat importance (i.e., Tower Tycoon, Pike Queen, et cetera) should have their own pages, but others should definitely be merged. シンジShinjiLover,Edits 01:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
  • I think pages like Boss and Commander should be turned into disambiguation pages that link to the characters (i.e. Giovanni), and pages like Salon Maiden should redirect to the pages for the characters they're talking about (i.e. Tower Tycoon should redirect to Palmer).Alec9 16:38, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
  • It is my opinion(for what it's worth, seeing as I'm new here) that, as Memo326 stated, allowing the pages in question to stay separate confines the Trainer Class Article pages to remain stubs. Information regarding a Trainer Class exclusive to one character being relocated to the preexisting article regarding that character should suffice. AUXIA 02:39, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

No Colour

I have been looking at the Trainer pages with the list of Trainers, and I was there were lacking in color, so I have done something about that. Click here to see--Deathgabriel 06:32, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

That's perfect. It will realy lighten all the articles. Add them to each Trainer Class page.--Clarky13 06:42, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Ok, but it's going to take time Deathgabriel 06:55, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Hey man, that looks great! I'll help you add them to some of the pages. AUXIA (talk) 07:16, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
It's fine, but I think some of them could use some work. Maybe the colors. ~ overgrownsol 07:22, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I only had a problem with the first template for red version, the drop-down is blue and looks odd in comparison. Other than that, I like them. AUXIA (talk) 07:27, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Pokémon Red and Blue.... — THE TROM — 07:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Wait, guys, please stop. Use the Color templates instead of these. They are standard use on Bulbapdia. — THE TROM — 07:31, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Furthermore, instead of manually changing everything, why not make it into a template so the pages don't turn into messes of code? - unsigned comment from Sol (talkcontribs) 07:33, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Just saw them and it doesn't look half bad. Does anyone know how to do those evil little curfy edges?--Clarky13 07:48, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
*raises hand* — THE TROM — 07:50, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Aye, but not now. Ҝəυzø8 07:54, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I'll just leave it to you guys, I'm still getting used to wikicode. AUXIA (talk) 07:56, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I was thinking of "modernizing" them. And I agree with Sol's idea and making them into templates. Do you think you can do it, trom (or kev if your up to it)?--Clarky13 07:57, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes. I will take it. I'll get on that now. — THE TROM — 08:03, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks very much.--Clarky13 08:05, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Is this even needed?
