Snivy is the main deuteragonist of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: The Series. She is the best friend and exploration partner of Riolu.

History

Pre-series

As revealed in the episode It Wasn't Always Like This..., Snivy once had a mother, Serperior, who took care of her with great love and care. All had gone very well, with little argument, until the arrival of a great earthquake that devastated the home; Serperior was unable to escape and thus perished in the disaster. This left Snivy extremely heartbroken and devastated, and led to her starting her life as an orphaned Pokémon. During this time, she became very nomadic, going places to gather her resources. One day, while she was trying to get some Oran Berries, she stumbled on a massive cavern containing a pot of gold. Astonished, Snivy began to search for more and more treasure, in the riskiest of places - this was the beginning of her indomitable love for exploration and her determination to join the highly renowned Expedition Society. Later on, a Pokémon named Carracosta had found her and took her in as his adoptive daughter, and later signed her up to the local school in Serene Village, where she is regularly the troublemaker there.

One day, while Nuzleaf first signed up and enrolled Riolu to school, the latter and Snivy first met after getting headbutted and knocked unconscious, although Snivy did apologize later.
