Some Bulbapedia members have formed a project to better organize efforts to write and improve articles about Pokémon merchandise. This includes (but is not limited to) toys, novelty goods, and books. If you would like to help, please inquire on the Bulbapedia talk:Project Merchandise or the Bulbapedia forum and see either of our to-do lists: Bulbapedia:Project Merchandise/Toys to-do list; Bulbapedia:Project Merchandise/Books to-do list.

Project Merchandise

Scope and aims

Project Merchandise covers all articles about Pokémon merchandise.

Its ambitious aim is to create articles on all toys, plush dolls, and collectible merchandise produced for the Pokémon franchise, as well as covering all tie-in books and anime novelizations that have been published. Any and all information which can be found and provided will prove invaluable to collectors, including images, time and areas of release, rarity and value. If you have collected anything over your career as a fanboy or fangirl, please inquire to see if there is room for it.

Participants

Structure

Articles should be grouped together by lines and release sets; there are too many pieces of merchandise to give every doll and toy an individual article.

Each book should have its own article, and have a plot summary, character list, and other relevant facts.

Goals

  1. Identify and catalog all major toy lines and release sets of the Pokémon franchise.
  2. Identify and catalog as many minor toy sets as possible.
  3. Identify manufacturers of each set in the project.
  4. Identify the time of release of each set in the project.
  5. Identify countries which each set was released in, particularly exclusive toys.
  6. Research initial and current values of individual toys.
  7. Provide at least one picture of each toy in each set, as well as a group picture of the entire set. Quality photos preferred.
  8. Make complete articles on each book in the Pokémon franchise which include a picture of the book's cover and a complete synopsis of the book.
