Bulbapedia:Image reversion policy

Bulbapedia has recently developed a policy regarding image reversion. Due to the number of edits used solely to edit war over what is a "better image," particularly for anime screenshots, the administrators and Editorial board of Bulbapedia feel it is necessary to instate an official policy on the matter.

Guidelines for changing an image

From now on, if any user besides an administrator wishes to change the screenshot for an anime article, they must obtain the permission of an administrator before changing the image. The administrator will weigh the pros and cons of each image, such as resolution and representation of the episode, in order to decide which image should be used.

Penalties for image edit-warring

Put simply, if two or more users are involved in an edit war over an image for an article, and they continue after initially being asked to refrain from such behavior, all users involved will receive a block equal to the total amount of reversions between all users involved. I.E., if two users switch between an image four times each, they will each receive a block of eight days.
