Brycen (Japanese: ハチク Hachiku) is the Gym Leader of Icirrus City's Gym, known officially as the Icirrus Gym. He specializes in Template:Type2 Pokémon. He gives the Freeze Badge to Trainers who defeat him.

In the games

Brycen appears in Pokémon Black and White as the Gym Leader of Icirrus City's Gym. This Gym will be the seventh to be challenged by the player. Trainers who defeat Brycen will receive the Icicle Badge, along with TM79 (Frost Breath). He also reappears at N's Castle where he and the other Unova Gym Leaders hold off the Seven Sages.

In the past, Brycen was a movie star, but grew bored of making films. Unsure of what to do with himself, he took the advice of Alder and became a Trainer. He traveled alone to an icy cave and trained in silence to gain as much knowledge as possible. Brycen also places importance on concealing his true identity from others.

Trivia

• His Japanese Leader title is アイス マスク.
• Brycen is the third Gym Leader who both specializes in the Ice type and is the 7th Gym Leader, the first two being Pryce and Candice.
  • Incidentally, in the Pokemon Adventures manga, the villain codenamed "Mask of Ice" has a name similar to Brycen's leader title.
  • Brycen and Pryce also have similar English names.
• Brycen is the only Ice-type specialist to have a team consisting of only pure Ice-type Pokémon.
• Brycen hands out the Freeze Badge that in Japanese is the same name badge of which Candice gives out, and Candice's alternate badge name is the Glacier Badge, which in English is Pryce's badge name, but it's alternate name would be the Ice Badge.
