Brock's Forretress
Forretress (Japanese: フォレトス Foretos) was the first Pokémon aquired by Brock in Johto, and his fifth altogether.
He caught it as a Pineco near Azalea Town with one of Kurt's Fast Balls while trying to pick Apricorns.
Later in the journey, it evolved at a Hot Spring while trying to save a herd of wild Pokémon from Team Rocket.
Forretress had some character development. As a Pinco, it was very surly and tempermental and tended to blow itself up, ususally Brock along with it.
After it evolved into a Forretress, it seemed to like Brock better, and began to act loyal. After Brock gave Jiroo most of his Pokémon, Forretress was the only Pokémon Brock took with him to Hoenn.
Forretress got an fair amount of screentime for one of Brock's Pokémon, as was regularly featured throughout most of the latter Johto episodes and much of early Hoenn. However, its mostly taken a backseat to Ludicolo and Mudkip after the midpoint of the series.
