Bounce (Japanese: とびはねる Bounce) is a damage-dealing Flying-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Generation III

The user bounces up high on the first turn, avoiding most moves. Gust, Twister, Thunder and Sky Uppercut have normal accuracy against a mid-air Pokémon, gaining doubled power. The user may also be hit in mid-air if it was previously targeted by Lock-On or Mind Reader. On the second turn, the user slams down onto the target, inflicting damage with a 30% chance of paralyzing it.

Pokémon can be caught during the semi-invulnerable stage of Bounce.

Generation IV

A Pokémon in the semi-invulnerable stage of Bounce can be hit if it is attacked by a Pokémon with No Guard or has No Guard itself.

Pokémon can no longer be caught during the semi-invulnerable stage of Bounce.

If a Power Herb is held by the user, Bounce can be executed in one turn.

Generation V

The user can now also be hit by Hurricane during the semi-invulnerable turn of Bounce.

Bounce can hit non-adjacent opponents in Triple Battles.
