Generations III to IV
When a Pokémon with Blaze uses a
Fire-type move, the move's power will be increased by 50% if the user has less than or equal to ⅓ of its maximum HP remaining.
Generations V onwards
Instead of boosting Fire-type moves' power, Blaze now technically boosts the Pokémon's
Attack or Special Attack by 50% during damage calculation if a Fire-type move is being used, resulting in effectively the same effect.
Outside of battle
Blaze has no effect outside of battle.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, Blaze will deal double the damage if the Pokémon using it is below 25% of its HP.
Pokémon Conquest, Blaze will increase user's Attack if the Pokémon using it is below ⅓ of its HP.

Monferno When Monferno becomes tired or weak, its eyes glow red and the flame on the end of its tail grows to a massive size, powering up its Fire-type attacks.

Infernape When Infernape becomes tired or weak, its eyes glow red. Its head glows bright orange and the flame grows to a massive size. Its body also becomes surrounded by a fiery aura and its Fire-type attacks become powered up.
