The Bird-type is referring to a glitch in the Generation I games. For information on the Flying-type, please see Flying (type)

The Bird type is an element type given to two Glitch Pokémon.

This type only exists due to a programming oversight. It is thought that Bird was the "Beta" name for the Flying type, as this was allegedly seen in beta versions of the Generation I games.
