Benji

Benji (Japanese: シロウ Shirō) is a character of the day in the Pokémon anime who appeared in the episode Mountain Time.

Benji and his father were part of a mountain patrol and they used Ledian to help them do their job. To help train these Ledian, Benji's father has a Pidgeotto simulate the strong winds that occur in the mountains.

Benji took Ash, Misty, and Brock out to the woods to show them how he trained his Ledian. Suddenly an unusual wind occurs and Ledian gets blown away. They soon discover that the wind was caused by a machine used by Team Rocket. They used the same machine to suck up Pikachu and Togepi. Benji tries to get Ledian to go after then but the machine's wind is just too strong. Soon a real wind causes Team Rocket's balloon to go out of control and they crash into the mountains.

Benji and Ledian help the gang get through the mountains and find Pikachu and Togepi. They find them and Team Rocket tittering on a rock on a tip of a mountain. Benji gets the idea of using a rope and a net to rescue them. Ledian's job was to side the net down a rope. But the rope breaks leaving Ledian to hold the net by itself. It manages to harness all of its strength to get them on the ground safely.

Team Rocket then tries to run off with Pikachu and Togepi but are stopped by Benji's dad. He and his dad then team up and use both of their Ledian to save Pikachu and Togepi. After Pikachu and Togepi were saved, the first stars begin to appear in the sky and Benji's Ledian's spots start to glow. Benji's father then promotes him to "Officer of the Mountain Patrol" because of it.

		Benji's Ledian is part of mountain patrol helping people stranded in the mountains, it is smaller than other Ledian. Ledian first appeared where Ash and Pikachu saw it and chased after it, it got into strong winds caused by Benji's father's Pidgeotto and failed to get through them as training. It then appeared in the cabin whilst Benji's father's Ledian was giving it tips. Ledian then started training again flying through the trees. Suddenly Team Rocket appear with their new vacuum device sucking in Pikachu and Togepi. Ledian tries to save them but it is blown back. They decide to save them, suddenly a load of rocks blocks their way so they have to uses the rope ladder. Suddenly the rope breaks but with the help of Ash's Noctowl they are able to bring them to safety. Ledian decides to go look for them and finds them balanced on a rock, Bulbasaur cant reach so Ledian steps in, Benji takes a net and rope out, he ties it round a rock and Ledian is able to successfully save the group. Suddenly Team Rocket bag Togepi and Pikachu, Ledian tries to help but it is too exhausted. In the end Ledian and Benji's father's Ledian send Team Rocket blasting off with Swift. That night when the stars started to glow so did the spots on its back and it flew in the sky with the other Ledian sprinkling dust. When it glows it mean Ledian is well trained and Benji got the job as mountain officer. Ledian's known moves are Swift and Comet Punch*.
