The Battle Styles Build & Battle Box was a limited product that could be purchased in advance of the general release of the Battle Styles expansion. Retailers in the Prerelease Program could begin selling these boxes from March 6, 2021. Included in each Build & Battle Box was a 23-card Evolution pack that comprised one of four specially stamped Prerelease cards and predetermined groups of Pokémon cards. The Prerelease cards for the Battle Styles expansion were Cherrim, Octillery, Houndoom, and Bronzong. Each box also came with four Battle Styles booster packs.
Build & Battle Boxes could include exclusive Non Holofoil versions of Holofoil cards from the Battle Styles expansion: Cherrim, Tapu Bulu, Octillery, Crobat, and Houndoom. They could also provide a re-release of Non Holofoil Sword & Shield Professor's Research originally from the Sword & Shield Build & Battle Box.
