Template:Infobox town The Battle Frontier is an area introduced in Pokémon Platinum that features five different battle facilities. This is the second Battle Frontier made in the Pokémon world, the other being in Hoenn. The Battle Frontier is located in Sinnoh replacing the Battle Park from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The Battle Tower is still present and the Battle Factory is a returning venue from Emerald, albeit not under the same Frontier Brain. The same Pokémon prohibited from entering Diamond and Pearl's Battle Tower, as well as Giratina's and Shaymin's new formes, are prohibited from being entered here.

Battle Points are awarded to the player for completing venues.

Battle Tower

Main article: Battle Tower (Sinnoh)

The Battle Tower is identical to the Battle Tower in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The player battles seven trainers consecutively in a simple knock-out, progressively becoming more difficult. Trainers will choose three Pokémon to battle with having their level reduced to 50. Players are not allowed to bring Pokémon with the same items here. After each battle, the player's Pokémon will be healed completely and have the option to continue, rest or retire. The Battle Tower has four modes:

  • Single Battle
  • Double Battle
  • Multi Battle
  • Wi-Fi Battle

The Battle Factory

The Battle Factory is another battle venue at Sinnoh's Battle Frontier, having basically the same rules as Hoenn's Battle Frontier's Battle Factory. The player will be able to choose three out of six rental Pokémon and battle another trainer with rental Pokémon. Players can get their opponent's rental Pokémon after winning in a battle. It is held in a large blue stadium.

Thorton is the Frontier Brain for the Battle Factory.

The Factory Attendant will give hints before each battle. The hints are different in each challenge. Here are what the hints will be for each challenge (more will be added as I go):

  • Challenge #1 (trainers 1-7): She will tell you all three Pokémon that your opponent will use.
  • Challenge #2 (trainers 8-14): She will tell you the first Pokémon and one other of your opponents Pokémon.
  • Challenge #3 (trainers 15-21 [this includes Thorton]): She tells you the first Pokémon and one of the moves they know.
  • Challenge #4 (trainers 22-28): She will tell you one of the moves that your opponents first Pokémon knows.
  • Challenge #5 (trainers 29-35): Same as Hoenn's Battle Factory, She will tell you what type your opponent is good with.

I will add the last 2 challenges when I get to it today. (Challenge #7 is Thorton for the Gold Print). User Drichard08

Battle Arcade

The Battle Arcade

Battles in the Battle Arcade are either 3 vs 3 (single) or 4 vs 4 (double). Prior to battles, all items equipped on the Pokémon used are removed. Trainers play roulette before each match. The choice may affect the player's Pokémon, the opponent's, or even the field. The roulette may land on status ailments, weather changes, level changes, berries, items and more. It may even land on nothing. The status ailments appear to be based on moves with certain types; Template:Type2s are immune to poisoning and Template:Type2s are immune to paralysis.

The Battle Castle

In the Battle Castle, players must fight seven opponents in a row. Winning allows players to receive Castle Points, which are used in multiple ways. The Castle Points, or CP, can allow players to heal their Pokémon's HP, PP or both, buy items for use inside the Battle Castle, like berries. It can also allow players to see their opponents' Pokémon and even increase or decrease their levels by five. In the Battle Castle, Pokémon will not be healed automatically after a battle.

Battle Hall

The Battle Hall

The Battle Hall features a series of one on one battles. One Pokémon is entered, and then an opponent is chosen from a list of types. As a Trainer moves up through the facility, the levels go higher, making this the only facility to feature Pokémon above level 50. The Frontier Brain of this facility is battled after 60 and 170 battles, unlike the others who are battled after 21 and 49. Players must also have ten battles in a row before they're allowed to exit.

Argenta is the Frontier Brain for the Battle Hall.

As the only thing known about an opponent is one of the types of their Pokémon, the game may occasionally throw a curveball, such as if a player chooses to use a Template:Type2 against their Template:Type2 opponent, they may find out that the opponent is using the Ghost/Dark Spiritomb who is immune to Fighting moves.

Trivia

The Battle Frontier Logo
  • The Battle Frontier Logo is the color code of the venues corresponding to the five battle venues and their position in the Battle Frontier.
    • The color code of each of the venues corresponds approximately to the color codes of each of the five flavors of Berry.
    • It also corresponds to the types of Pokémon Super Contest.
  • Due to the pairing of Darach and Lady Caitlin, there is an equal number of male and female Frontier Brains. This is the case with Sinnoh's Gym Leaders as well.
  • Taking into consideration the effects that could hinder or help the player's Pokémon and the fact that it looks like St. Basil's Cathedral, the Battle Arcade's Japanese name, Battle Roulette, may have been based on the term Russian Roulette.
