(Japanese: ロケット団VSプラズマ団!(前編) Rocket-dan VS Plasma-dan! (Part 1)) is the 23rd episode of the Best Wishes series, and the 680th episode of the Pokémon anime.
This episode was originally scheduled to air in Japan on March 17, 2011, but it has been postponed, along with the original BW024, indefinitely because of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Its events have been retconned out of continuity as of BW112.
Synopsis
Giovanni, the Boss of Team Rocket, has arrived in the Unova Region! All the gathered members of the organization head to the Relic Castle, a large structure in the center of the Desert Resort where the coveted Meteonite is said to be hidden. There, Team Rocket combines the information they've gathered with the special tools they've developed to bring this Meteonite to the surface! As Team Rocket marvels at the glory of this new energy source, Giovanni declares that a new chapter in the group's history has begun. Meanwhile, Ash, Iris, Cilan, Officer Jenny, and Professor Juniper are all heading toward the Relic Castle in a helicopter when, suddenly, a beam of energy strikes the aircraft! After making a crash landing, the gang is picked up by agent Looker of the International Police. With his help, will they be able to figure out the source of the problem?
