Attract (Japanese: メロメロ Attract) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

If the target is the opposite gender of the Pokémon who launched the move, the target becomes infatuated. Pokémon of the same gender are not affected, along with genderless ones.

However, if used by Mew, only genderless Pokémon can be infatuated.

Trivia

  • Mew is the only genderless Pokémon that can learn this move: Mew is able to learn any TM, and can learn it by TM45.
  • Nincada is the only Pokémon with a known gender and the capability of using TMs to not be able to learn this move. This is likely to prevent the genderless Shedinja from learning this move.
