Ash's Pikachu (Japanese: サトシのピカチュウ Satoshi's Pikachu) is a Lightning-type Basic Pokémon card. It is one of the SM-P Promotional cards.

Release information

In Japan, this card was available as a SM-P Promotional card as part of the Ash's Pikachu GET Campaign, which began on June 16, 2017. For every five booster packs purchased in one transaction at participating store chains selling advance tickets for I Choose You!, customers would receive a special pack containing 1 of 6 possible promotional cards. These chains included APiTA, Piago, ÆON, Ito-Yokado, Toys "R" Us, Fuji, and HEIWADO, as well as Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores. 7-Eleven stores were specifically excluded. The campaign ran for as long as stocks lasted. The movie logo is featured in the bottom right corner of the illustration.

Trivia

Origin

Ash has owned Pikachu since the first episode of the anime. Iron Tail and Thunderbolt are both moves in the Pokémon games that Pikachu can learn, and are also moves that Ash's Pikachu has used in the anime. This card features Pikachu wearing Ash's cap as seen in the Sun & Moon series, and is based on one of the Pikachu in a cap distributed in the run-up to the release of I Choose You!.
