Corphish debuted in Gone Corphishin. Ash and his friends were camping on a Dewford Island beach, and Corphish was attacking them from underneath the sand. Eventually, his identity was revealed and Ash battled and caught him using his Treecko. In the next episode, when Corphish met the group's other Pokémon, he struggled to make friends, smacking the others to greet them and eating their food. Corphish later fell ill after eating some seaweed and rope and was carried to the Dewford Town Pokémon Center for treatment. The next morning he had recovered and was able to stop Team Rocket's plan.

In the next episode, when Corphish met the gang's other Pokémon, it struggled to make friends, smacking the others to greet them and eating their food. Corphish later fell ill after eating some seaweed and rope and was carried to the Dewford Town Pokémon Center by its new Trainer. The next morning it had recovered and was able to stop Team Rocket's plan. Corphish had its first Gym battle in Just One of the Geysers against Brawly, where it was chosen to battle his Machop. Corphish won the battle but still fell to Brawly.
Corphish had his first Gym battle in Just One of the Geysers against Brawly, where he was chosen to battle his Machop. Corphish won the round, though he later fell to Brawly.

In Going, Going, Yawn!, when discussing Ash's strategy for his next Gym Battle, Ash showed ashfr that he would use Corphish since the Gym was a Fire Gym. When the battle started, Ash used Corphish as his first Pokémon in his Lavaridge Gym, it went up against Flannery's Magcargo. Corphish was able to hit with Bubble Beam and then it countered Magcargo's Flamethrower with Harden. Brock told Ash to beware that although damage was small, it would add up, but Ash was overconfident since Flannery was a new Gym Leader. Corphish used Bubble Beam but Magcargo used Double Team to avoid damage and Corphish ended up only hitting the Double Team clones. Corphish was able to destroy them and hit the real one by attacking from above. Corphish then used Vice Grip but Flannery had Magcargo use Reflect, pushing Corphish back and cutting the damage by half. Magcargo then counterattacked with Sandstorm, damaging Corphish. It used Bubble Beam while Magcargo used Sandstorm again with Sandstorm overpowering Bubble Beam. However Corphish jumped over Magcargo and used Crabhammer downwards, pushing back the Sandstorm and hitting Magcargo, knocking it out. Ash recalled Corphish when Flannery sent out her Slugma. However, after Treecko was recalled, Corphish was sent out to battle Slugma anyways. Slugma used Smog but Corphish was able to blow it away with a spinning Crabhammer. It then used Vice Grip but Slugma used Yawn, putting Corphish to Sleep. Ash wasn't able to wake Corphish up and it was hit by another Flamethrower, forcing Ash to recall it. Ash later sent it out to battle Flannery's Torkoal, however it was still asleep. It was hit by Overheat, which still didn't wake up Corphish, however Overheat didn't do much damage, as Overheat decreases in power each time its used. Torkoal used Flamethrower, which finally woke it up. It rushed forward with Vice Grip but was blocked by Iron Defense and was hit by Sludge Bomb. Ash had Corphish withstand the attack and used Crabhammer, which was once again blocked by Iron Defense. Ash had Corphish used Crabhammer on Iron Defense again, but attacked it on the side, causing it to spin. This made Torkoal dizzy and forced it to come out of its shell. This allowed Corphish to finish off Torkoal with Bubble Beam, earning Ash the Heat.
In Going, Going, Yawn!, Ash selected Corphish to participate in his Gym battle against Flannery, due to his type advantage over the Lavaridge Gym's Fire Pokémon. Corphish took on Flannery's Magcargo, managing to overcome his opponent's defensive tactics such as Sandstorm and win the round. Later, after Treecko's failed attempt, Corphish was sent out to take on Slugma. However, Corphish had to be recalled after Slugma used Yawn to put him to sleep. Ash then sent him out to battle Flannery's Torkoal, but he was still asleep and took several fiery hits as a result. Corphish woke up more persistent than ever, using Crabhammer to overcome Torkoal's Iron Defense. As Torkoal emerged dizzy from the blows, Corphish finished it off with Bubble Beam, earning Ash the Heat.

In Go Go Ludicolo!, Corphish was sent out when Ash was picking which Pokémon to use for his Petalburg Gym Battle. Corphish immediately got angry and jealous of Ash's newly evolved Grovyle after Corphish failed to get oranges off a tree after using its attacks too hard, breaking the oranges, as well as failing to break TRT's net with its pincers, both of which Grovyle did easily with its Leaf Blade. Later Corphish barged in Grovyle's way to volunteer to battle against Poncho and his Ludicolo. However Corphish struggled as its  Crabhammer and Bubble Beam attacks were dodged by Ludicolo's dancing skills, Double Team, or they were blocked by Protect. Corphish was hit by Ludicolo's Focus Punch and eventually it was defeated by Hyper Beam. May mentioned that Ash and Corphish weren't in sync and Corphish became upset about losing and later ran off. Ash later learned that Corphish was jealous of Grovyle. Corphish caught up with Poncho and got angry at him demanding another battle but then had to rescue Poncho and Ludicolo from Team Rocket. It single handily defeated Jessie and James, impressing Poncho with him mentioning that his win might have just been luck.
In Go Go Ludicolo!, Corphish was sent out while Ash was deliberating on his Petalburg Gym strategy. Corphish immediately got angry and jealous of Ash's newly evolved Grovyle, particularly after he failed to retrieve fruit from a tree, as well as failing to break TRT's net with his pincers, both of which Grovyle did easily with Leaf Blade. Later, Corphish got in Grovyle's way in order to volunteer to battle Poncho and his Ludicolo. However, Corphish struggled as his Crabhammer and Bubble Beam attacks were dodged by Ludicolo's dancing skills and defenses. He was then hit by Ludicolo's Focus Punch and eventually defeated by Hyper Beam. Determined to prove himself, Corphish caught up with Poncho and angrily demanded another battle, but he then had to rescue Poncho and Ludicolo from Team Rocket. He singlehandedly defeated Jessie and James, impressing Poncho, who admitted that his earlier win might have just been luck.

In It's Still Rocket Roll to Me!, Corphish saved Max and one of the Mossdeep Gym Leaders, Tate, when they were captured on board a space shuttle captured by Team Rocket. Having sneaked on board the shuttle while following the food, it discovered Max and Tate tied up in the cockpit and cut the ropes holding them prisoner so that Tate could use Tate to knock Team Rocket out.
In It's Still Rocket Roll to Me!, Corphish saved Max and one of the Mossdeep Gym Leaders, Tate, when they were captured aboard a space shuttle that had been hijacked by Team Rocket. Having snuck aboard the shuttle while following the food, he discovered Max and Tate tied up in the cockpit and cut the ropes holding them, allowing Tate to use Tate to knock Team Rocket out.

In Once in a Mawile, it fell in love with a Mawile, however the feeling was not mutual as the Mawile was in love with Brock's Lombre. It teamed up with the also heartbroken Brock to sing and dance to "Brock's Paradise" in order to keep an audience entertained.

In The Great Eight Fate! Ash chose Corphish to replace his Snorunt in the Double Battle in the first round of the Sootopolis Gym battle, it went up against Juan's Sealeo and Seaking along with Pikachu. Corphish used Bubble Beam, which Sealeo and Seaking dodged by diving underwater, Seaking then used Horn Attack on Corphish from behind, although Corphish grabbed Seaking's horn with its claws. Seaking used Horn Drill to spin Corphish around, crashing it into the water. When Pikachu used Iron Tail on Seaking while Sealeo used Aurora Beam on Pikachu, Iron Tail knocked out Seaking while Aurora Beam missed. Pikachu was seen riding on Corphish like a surfboard. While they rode towards Sealeo, it used Ice Ball, which was getting stronger with each attack, Corphish blocked the first two with Harden and Vice Grip while Pikachu destroyed the third one with Iron Tail, the fourth one then hit them both. Sealeo launched a fifth Ice Ball at them both, which was very large and powerful, but Pikachu was able to destroy it with a powerful Thunder while Corphish launched a Crabhammer after Sealeo was distracted with the falling ice shards, knocking Sealeo out. This ended the first round of the Sootopolis Gym battle in Ash's favor. Both were then recalled.
In The Great Eight Fate!, Ash chose Corphish to replace his Snorunt in the Double Battle in the first round of the Sootopolis Gym battle. He went up against Juan's Sealeo and Seaking along with Pikachu. Corphish's defenses allowed him and Pikachu to endure Sealeo's attacks and defeat it, ending the first round of the battle in Ash's favor. In the next episode, Corphish took on Juan's Luvdisc, managing to overcome its Swift Swim Ability and win. Corphish then went up against Juan's Whiscash, but he was defeated by a Surf and Rock Smash combination.

In the next episode, Corphish was used in the second round of Ash's Sootopolis Gym battle, it went up against Juan's Luvdisc. Corphish used Bubble Beam, but using its incredible speed Luvdisc dodged and used Water Gun which hit Corphish. Luvdisc used Sweet Kiss, but Corphish dodges and used Bubble Beam, which Luvdisc dodged by diving underwater. However, Corphish used Crabhammer at the surface of the water, forcing Luvdisc out the water and dealing damage. Corphish then used Vice Grip but due to the splash creating rain like conditions, it activated Luvdisc's ability Swift Swim, allowing it to move twice as fast, allowing Luvdisc to dodge. Luvdisc used Water Gun which Corphish dodged and Ash had it use Bubble Beam on the mist, removing the rain like conditions and thus stopping Luvdisc's Swift Swim from working This allowed Corphish to hit Luvdisc with Crabhammer, knocking it out. Corphish then went up against Juan's Whiscash. Corphish used Bubble Beam, which Whiscash countered with Surf, blocking the attack, it then used the momentum from the Surf to launch its Rock Smash attack, crushing Corphish and knocking it out.
In the Ever Grande Conference, Corphish was used in several battles. He first teamed up with Torkoal in From Brags to Riches to battle Dominick. After Torkoal fainted, Corphish defeated Swalot alone, which he did by using Bubble Beam in Swalot's mouth.

In the Ever Grande Conference, it was used in several battles. It first teamed up with Torkoal in From Brags to Riches to battle Dominick. After Torkoal fainted Corphish was on its own to defeat Swalot, which it did by using Bubble Beam in Swalot's mouth.
In A Judgment Brawl, Ash used Corphish as his fourth Pokémon in his Full Battle against Katie in the Victory Tournament. He went up against her Golduck on the water field, and despite getting confusion by Golduck's Confusion, Corphish was more or less able to understand Ash's commands and defeat the Duck Pokémon. Corphish next went up against Katie's Venomoth, though Ash recalled him in favor of Swellow to get the type advantage. He sent him back out later to take on Katie's last Pokémon, Walrein. Although now free from his confusion, Corphish's Bubble Beam wasn't enough to stop Walrein's powerful Body Slam, which knocked Corphish right out on impact.

In A Judgment Brawl, Ash used Corphish as his fourth Pokémon in his Full Battle against Katie in the Victory Tournament, it went up against her Golduck on the water field. Golduck used Fury Swipes, while Corphish used Crabhammer and they both collided. Golduck used Hydro Pump, which Corphish dodged and used Crabhammer, however Golduck used Confusion, trapping Corphish in the air. After being slammed on a platform, Corphish became Confusion and couldn't hear Ash's command for Harden and fell into the water, however it suddenly came from behind Golduck and used Crabhammer while still confused. Golduck then launched Fury Swipes which Corphish caught and used its claws to shake Golduck's hand. Corphish then launched Golduck into the air and finished it off with Bubble Beam. Corphish next went up against Katie's Venomoth. Corphish was still confused and launched a Bubble Beam, which was dodged. Venomoth used Supersonic but it did nothing as Corphish was already confused. Ash then recalled Corphish. Corphish was later sent out to battle Katie's last Pokémon, her Walrein. Corphish looked weak but was free from its confusion. Walrein used Body Slam and Corphish used Bubble Beam, but Bubble Beam was unable to stop Walrein and it was knocked out by the Body Slam.

Ash later used Corphish as his first Pokémon in his Full Battle against Morrison in the Victory Tournament, with Girafarig as his opponent. Morrison was unable to control his emotions due to grief over being forced to battle his close friend, Ash, causing him to give Girafarig useless commands, thus allowing Corphish to trounce it. In the next episode, Ash saved the motionless Morrison from being disqualified by convincing him to continue battling, and he reluctantly picked Growlithe. With the type advantage and Morrison continuing to make poor move choices, Corphish made quick work of Growlithe as well. Ash further tried to encourage Morrison out of his slump, and he finally got through to him. Morrison then sent out his Swampert and gave it much smarter commands, leading Corphish to tie with it.

Ash later used Corphish as his first Pokémon in his Full Battle against Morrison in the Victory Tournament, it went up against his Girafarig. Corphish used Vice Grip and Girafarig countered with Light Screen, but that was useless in this scenario as Light Screen protected against special attacks, and Vice Grip was a physical move, breaking the Light Screen and dealing damage. Girafarig used Tackle but Corphish dodged by sliding on the ice field, causing Girafarig to crash into an ice pillar. Corphish used Vice Grip and while Girafarig jumped and dodged, Corphish used its pincer on an ice shard to turn around and hit Girafarig, it countered with Iron Tail, but Corphish ducked and defeated the Long Neck Pokémon with Crabhammer. Due to his indecision and not wanting to fight Ash, he struggled to pick a second Pokémon and was about to be disqualified. In the next episode Ash got Morrison to continue the battle, and he reluctantly picked Growlithe. Corphish used Bubble Beam, and Morrison had Growlithe dodge with Agility, Ash had Corphish used Bubble Beam and Morrison countered with Agility again. At this point Ash's friends realized that Morrison was unwilling to attack and Growlithe crashed into an ice pillar. Corphish used Crabhammer which was a critical hit, knocking Growlithe out. Ash was able to convince Morrison to battle on, breaking him from his indecision. He sent out his Swampert and Corphish used Crabhammer while Swampert used Focus Punch, both being blocked and evenly matched. Corphish used Bubble Beam while Swampert countered with Hydro Pump, with both attacks being blocked and evenly matched again. Corphish used Crabhammer while Swampert used Focus Punch again, both hitting and ending up with both Pokémon being knocked out, ending their battle in a tie.
In At the End of the Fray, Ash used Corphish as his third Pokémon in his Full Battle against Tyson, going up against Hariyama. After a short exchange of moves, Corphish's Crabhammer collided with Hariyama's Focus Punch, with the latter prevailing and knocking Corphish out in one shot.

In At the End of the Fray, Ash used Corphish as his third Pokémon in his Full Battle against Tyson in the Victory Tournament, it went up against his Hariyama. Corphish used Bubble Beam and Hariyama used Brick Break, but Corphish was able to get behind it and use Crabhammer, colliding with the Arm Thrust Pokémon's Focus Punch, which caused Corphish to be knocked out.

Back at Pallet Town, in The Right Place and the Right Mime, Corphish met and soon befriended Ash's other crab-like Pokémon, Kingler.

Kanto Battle Frontier
In Tactics Theatrics!!, he teamed up with Swellow to battle Tucker and his Arcanine and Swampert. Tucker took early control of the battle by canceling out Corphish and Swellow's attacks by making full use of Arcanine's superior speed and Swampert's defenses, then going on offense and having his Pokémon use tactful combinations, including a brutal water and fire fusion attack, all of which pushed Corphish and Swellow to their limits. However, Ash was clever enough to come up with strategies to circumvent all of Tucker's combinations, including having Corphish counter Arcanine's Fire Blast with Bubble Beam, creating a huge cloud of steam that allowed him and Swellow to blindside Arcanine and Swampert with powerful finishing moves, thus winning Ash the Tactics Symbol.

In Advice to Goh!, Corphish reunited with Ash during his visit to Professor Oak's Laboratory with Goh.
Corphish is a very brash Pokémon; it will often charge into things without thinking about its actions first, which usually leaves it in some kind of trouble. Corphish also gets jealous of others easily, as shown in Go Go Ludicolo!, after Treecko evolved into Grovyle where Corphish was worried it would not get as much attention as the powerful new Pokémon. In A Shroomish Skirmish, Corphish ate all of May's food, one of the many examples of Corphish being quite a gluttonous Pokémon. When it later got lost with Torchic, Corphish preferred to go on as if nothing had happened rather than swallowing its pride and apologizing.

Corphish, along with the rest of Ash's Pokémon at the lab, reunited with Ash in Friends, Rivals, Lend Me Your Spirit!. During the visit, he was seen relaxing with Kingler and later watched the battle between Ash and Paul. Before Ash left, he posed with the rest of Ash's Pokémon in a group photo with him.

Despite all of its social flaws, Corphish is a very friendly Pokémon and is very loyal to its Trainer. Corphish is also an effective battler, being able to defeat opponents quite larger in size than itself.
From Battling as Hard as Stone! onwards, Corphish watched Ash's Masters Eight Tournament matches against Steven Stone, Cynthia, and Leon. In Partners in Time!, Corphish appeared as a vision to Pikachu during his battle against Leon's Charizard. After Ash won the battle, Corphish joined the rest of Ash's Pokémon at the lab in celebrating their Trainer's victory.

Totodile has been shown to be spend time with Ash's Totodile as shown in An Old Family Blend! where they were found near each other on Lily of the Valley Island and in Alola, Kanto! when they were seen underwater together.
In Heroes Unite!, Corphish, along with the rest of the Pokémon at the lab, welcomed Ash back to Pallet Town after his victory over Leon.

Moves used
In A Fated Face-Off!, Corphish was shown to have rejoined Ash's team. Corphish saw a Clauncher that Ash wanted to catch and formed a passionate friendship with him, only for Misty to appear and say she wanted to catch him instead. After trying to catch him through fishing, Ash and Misty decided to have a battle to decide who would catch Clauncher, with Ash using Corphish to battle against Misty. Despite putting up a tough fight, Corphish was defeated, crying almost inconsolably at his loss, knowing that he couldn't be teammates with his new friend. Meanwhile, Misty caught Misty, who still chose to train with Corphish, much to her dismay.

Corphish is a very brash Pokémon; he will often charge into things without thinking about his actions first, which usually leads him into some kind of trouble. Ash respected Corphish for his power, hence why he initially caught him. However, he struggled to teach Corphish how to handle his own strength, particularly regarding his pincers.

Corphish is prone to jealousy and had a rivalry with Ash's Treecko. In Go Go Ludicolo!, after Treecko evolved into Grovyle, Corphish was worried he would not get as much attention as the powerful new Pokémon. He is also an extremely gluttonous Pokémon; in A Shroomish Skirmish, Corphish ate all of May's food. Despite all of its social flaws, Corphish is a very friendly Pokémon and is very loyal to his Trainer. He is also an effective battler, being able to defeat opponents quite larger in size than himself. His strength lies in his tough exoskeleton, making him durable to most attacks.

Corphish tends to spend time with Ash's Totodile, as shown in An Old Family Blend!, where they were found near each other on Lily of the Valley Island; and in Alola, Kanto!, when they were seen underwater together. Ash's Corphish (Japanese: サトシのヘイガニ Satoshi's Heigani) was the third Pokémon that Ash caught in the Hoenn region, and his twenty-fifth overall.

History

Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire

Hoenn
Corphish being welcomed to Ash's team
Corphish's way of saying hello

Corphish debuted in Gone Corphishin'.

Corphish had his first Gym battle in Just One of the Geysers against Brawly, where he was chosen to battle his Machop. Corphish won the round, though he later fell to Hariyama.

As Torkoal emerged dizzy from the blows, Corphish finished it off with Bubble Beam, earning Ash the Heat Badge.

In Go Go Ludicolo!, Corphish was sent out while Ash was deliberating on his Petalburg Gym strategy. Corphish immediately got angry and jealous of Ash's newly evolved Grovyle, particularly after he failed to retrieve fruit from a tree, as well as failing to break Team Rocket's net with his pincers, both of which Grovyle did easily with Leaf Blade. He singlehandedly defeated Seviper and Cacnea, impressing Poncho, who admitted that his earlier win might have just been luck.

In It's Still Rocket Roll to Me!, Corphish saved Max and one of the Mossdeep Gym Leaders, Tate, when they were captured aboard a space shuttle that had been hijacked by Team Rocket. Having snuck aboard the shuttle while following the food, he discovered Max and Tate tied up in the cockpit and cut the ropes holding them, allowing Tate to use Solrock to knock Team Rocket out.

Corphish and Brock left exhausted after performing "Takeshi's Paradise"

In Once in a Mawile, Corphish fell in love with a Mawile, but the feeling was not mutual since Mawile was in love with Brock's Lombre. He teamed up with Brock to sing and dance to "Takeshi's Paradise" in order to keep an audience entertained.

In the Ever Grande Conference, Corphish was used in several battles. He first teamed up with Torkoal in From Brags to Riches to battle Dominick. After Torkoal fainted, Corphish defeated Swalot alone, which he did by using Bubble Beam in Swalot's mouth.

In A Judgment Brawl, Ash used Corphish as his fourth Pokémon in his Full Battle against Katie in the Victory Tournament. He went up against her Golduck on the water field, and despite getting confused by Golduck's Confusion, Corphish was more or less able to understand Ash's commands and defeat the Duck Pokémon.

Corphish clashing against Morrison's Swampert

Kanto Battle Frontier
Corphish and Swellow teaming up against Tucker

Back at Pallet Town, in The Right Place and the Right Mime, Corphish met and soon befriended Ash's other crab-like Pokémon, Kingler.

In Talking a Good Game!, he battled Anabel's Alakazam and lost. In the next episode, however, he was able to beat Alakazam in a rematch, only to be beaten by her Metagross shortly thereafter.

Corphish danced with Brock to the same song as they did in Once in a Mawile, albeit a new version, in Strategy Tomorrow - Comedy Tonight!.

In Overjoyed!, in an attempt for Ash to warm up for his rematch against Brandon, Nurse Joy decided to battle Ash with her Chansey. As none of Corphish's attacks did any damage to Chansey, Chansey went on to defeat him with Solar Beam.

Ash left Corphish at Professor Oak's lab when he left for Sinnoh.

Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl

In An Old Family Blend!, Corphish was first seen in a fountain alongside Totodile and happily greeted his Trainer. Later, he helped to battle one of Team Rocket's mechas with his Bubble Beam. He also helped put out a fire, along with Totodile and Piplup, that was accidentally started by Cyndaquil. Corphish was not seen participating in the Lily of the Valley Conference.

Pokémon the Series: Black & White

Corphish was reunited with Ash in The Dream Continues!, where he and the rest of Ash's Pokémon posed in a group photo with him.

Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon

Corphish briefly appeared in Alola, Kanto!, where he was seen swimming underwater at a pond near Oak's Laboratory with Totodile.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

In Advice to Goh!, Corphish reunited with Ash during his visit to Professor Oak's Laboratory with Goh.

Corphish and Clauncher

Corphish, along with the rest of Ash's Pokémon at the lab, reunited with Ash in Friends, Rivals, Lend Me Your Spirit!. During the visit, he was seen relaxing with Kingler and later watched the battle between Ash and Paul. Before Ash left, he posed with the rest of Ash's Pokémon in a group photo with him.

From Battling as Hard as Stone! onwards, Corphish watched Ash's Masters Eight Tournament matches against Steven, Cynthia, and Leon. In Partners in Time!, Corphish appeared as a vision to Pikachu during his battle against Leon's Charizard. After Ash won the battle, Corphish joined the rest of Ash's Pokémon at the lab in celebrating their Trainer's victory.

In Heroes Unite!, Corphish, along with the rest of the Pokémon at the lab, welcomed Ash back to Pallet Town after his victory over Leon.

In A Fated Face-Off!, Corphish was shown to have rejoined Ash's team. Corphish saw a Clauncher that Ash wanted to catch and formed a passionate friendship with him, only for Misty to appear and say she wanted to catch him instead. After trying to catch him through fishing, Ash and Misty decided to have a battle to decide who would catch Clauncher, with Ash using Corphish to battle against Politoed. Despite putting up a tough fight, Corphish was defeated, crying almost inconsolably at his loss, knowing that he couldn't be teammates with his new friend. Meanwhile, Misty caught Clauncher, who still chose to train with Corphish, much to her dismay.

Personality and characteristics

Corphish and Ash
Corphish jealous of Grovyle

Corphish is a very brash Pokémon; he will often charge into things without thinking about his actions first, which usually leads him into some kind of trouble. Ash respected Corphish for his power, hence why he initially caught him. However, he struggled to teach Corphish how to handle his own strength, particularly regarding his pincers.

Corphish is prone to jealousy and had a rivalry with Ash's Treecko. In Go Go Ludicolo!, after Treecko evolved into Grovyle, Corphish was worried he would not get as much attention as the powerful new Pokémon. He is also an extremely gluttonous Pokémon; in A Shroomish Skirmish, Corphish ate all of Torchic's food. When he later got lost with Torchic, Corphish preferred to go on as if nothing had happened rather than swallowing his pride and apologizing.

He also seems to get along well with his fellow crustacean Pokémon, striking up fast friendships with both Ash's Kingler in The Right Place and the Right Mime and Misty's Clauncher in A Fated Face-Off!.
