Rock Tunnel
Rest up, because the nearest Poké Center is located on the other end of Rock Tunnel, in Lavender Town. In case of emergency, you may want to bring a few Escape Rope, something that can dig, and maybe a few Repels. Be aware that there are 15 Trainers wandering around inside the inky darkness.

Beat up the PokéManiac and take the ladder down to the basement floor.
B1F
This area has five Trainers (though the last is optional). Get some battle experience, and climb up the next ladder.
1F
There are three Trainers to battle here. Walk around to the right to find the ladder.
B1F
Another three Trainers line the tunnel here. The ladder to the first floor is located in the northwest corner.
1F
Only three Trainers left! Defeat the trio of Jr. Trainers, and look for the exit to the south.
Route 10 (south)
Finally, fresh air and sunlight! As daunting as all that battling may have been, it has earned you about $11000. If medical attention is an issue, walk to the right to avoid the four Trainers loitering outside the tunnel (and check the lone boulder for a Max Ether). Proceed south to enter Lavender Town.

Lavender Town
Lavender is a tiny town, but it does have a few noteworthy locations. The Poké Mart in the southeast sells some handy new items, including Revives (which restores half of a fainted Pokémon's health) and Great Balls (an upgrade of the traditional Poké Ball).
The Name Rater
The house near the town's southern exit is home to the Name Rater, a man who judges the nicknames that Trainers give to their Pokémon. His services are free, so Trainers are free to change their Pokémon's nicknames as often as they would like.
Abduction!
Kindly old Mr. Fuji, head of the Lavender Volunteer Pokémon House, has gone missing. His disappearance may have some connection to the recent paranormal activity occurring in nearby Pokémon Tower. However, besides keeping an eye open for clues, there's nothing that can be done about it right now.
Pokémon Tower
Pokémon Tower, where departed Pokémon are laid to rest, appears to be the source of the town's problems. Having a connection to the spirit world, most wild Pokémon found inside are Template:Type2s. Blue is on the tower's second floor, but you may decide to delay that battle by avoiding the tower for now. The spirit world's influence strengthens above the second floor, where ghosts and possessed Channelers are commonplace. But without a Silph Scope, you won't be able to climb to the tower's top floor.
Restless Spirits
Most ghosts inside the tower are truly Pokémon in disguise that can be battled or captured after obtaining the Silph Scope. Gastly and Haunter are two of the only three Template:Type2s in the game (the third being Gengar), so it's worthwhile to track them down. The one true ghost in the tower blocks access to the final floor, but since you can't do anything but run from it, it's best to ignore it for now. However, there are rumors of a Silph Scope prototype in Celadon City, so pack up and head west.
Route 8
Celadon City lies off to the west, but Saffron City stands in the way. Cut down one of the trees here to reach the patch of tall grass, where a new Template:Type2 can be found. No one is currently allowed through the gate, so enter the building to the north and take the Lavender-Celadon Underground that runs east-west underneath Saffron. Remember to use the Itemfinder in the tunnel to search for lost valuables. The tunnel emerges on Route 7.

Route 7
This tiny route leads you straight into Celadon City. The tall grass here is an easy way to raise your Pokémon, which should be about level 30 before challenging the Celadon Gym. Now let's check out the big city.
