3 is a rugged route that links Pewter City to Mt. Moon in the east. Just outside the city is a large crater where several meteorites have fallen. These rocks seem to emit a strange cosmic energy that may influence Deoxys of Pokémon.

3 is a winding path that is scarred with craters caused by unidentified falling rocks.  In fact, near Pewter City's eastern border are a group of meteorites that emit a strange, cosmic energy.  By examining these four space rocks, you can shift your Deoxys into a different form.  Follow the route to the east and rest your team at the Poké Center — you'll be ambushed as soon as you set foot into Mt. Moon.

Mt Moon
Mt. Moon was once comprised of a large cave network, but recent collapses have left only a single chamber connecting 3 to 4. Silver appears not far from the entrance and challenges you once again. After he leaves, climb the ladder to the east.

Now that you've defeated him for the sixth time, he will run off to the Dragon's Den in Blackthorn City to train. If you go looking for him, you will see him near the shrine; talking to him will trigger a double battle against Clair and Lance.

There really isn't much here, except for a sunken pond and a tiny shop, which is only open from 10:00am to 5:59pm. The real point of interest is the fenced-in pond to the west: if you return here between Monday nights at 8:00pm and Tuesday mornings at 4:00am, you will witness a group of Clefairy dancing around the pond, performing their ritual to the moon.  The Pokémon, focused on the moon and its reflection in the pond, won't see you at first. Before long, however, one of them will spot you, and they all run away, leaving behind a Moon Stone on the edge of the pond.

Revision as of 17:19, 28 April 2017

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
These pages follow the remade Nintendo DS iteration, not Gold and Silver. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 3

Route 3

Route 3 is a rugged route that links Pewter City to Mt. Moon in the east. Just outside the city is a large crater where several meteorites have fallen. These rocks seem to emit a strange cosmic energy that may influence a certain species of Pokémon.

Mt. Moon

Mt. Moon

Mt. Moon was once comprised of a large cave network, but recent collapses have left only a single chamber connecting Route 3 to Route 4. Silver appears not far from the entrance and challenges you once again. After he leaves, climb the ladder to the east.

Mt. Moon Square

Mt. Moon Square

Mt. Moon Square is located on the heights of the mountain, where few people ever venture. In the field to the west, Clefairy are said to perform secret rituals.

Shop

There is a small shop here that caters to weary travelers, selling health-restoring and battle-ending items.

Clefairy Dance

From 8:00 PM Monday through 4:00 AM Tuesday, six Clefairy appear in the field to the west. Four of them begin dancing around the pond, which shows a reflection of the full moon. When you enter the field, they get startled and run away, leaving behind an item that turns out to be a Moon Stone. The group returns to worship the moon every week.

Enter the south side of the cave for a shortcut to the exit.

Route 4

Route 4

Route 4 leads down from the mountains and eastward to Cerulean City. Collect the items, then fly back to Pewter City and head south.
