Jump over the ledge to the south of Picnicker Heidi to find a Full Restore. Fight past Hiker Clark, and continue west. Turn to the east near Camper Dean, climb the stairway, and head north. Cut down the tree near Hiker Eoin to find TM91 (Flash Cannon), then head to the west. Cut down another tree to reach a Light Clay, which extends the duration of the Light Screen and Reflect moves. Jump the ledge and head to the southwest, where you'll find a Max Potion. Head north and follow the path in a counter-clockwise loop to reach Cerulean City.

Cerulean City

Now that you've made it to Cerulean, you need to track down the thug with the stolen generator part.
None of the residents seem suspicious, so let's if Misty can help out. Head over to the Gym.

Reclaim the Machine Part!

As soon as you enter the Gym, the thief slams into you. He isn't being very covert, running around in full Team Rocket uniform. He flees the Gym, but the guy standing nearby tells you that he ran off towards the Cape. You'll find him on Nugget Bridge, and he ducks between a sight-seeing couple to hide from you. Beat him in a battle and he'll give up the location where he stashed the missing piece.

After a quick defeat, he gives up the location of the hidden Machine Part. Evidently, he hid it the pile of inflatable tubes in the rear of the Cerulean Gym. Take it back to the Power Plant's manager.

Power Restored!

After thanking you for retrieving the machinery, the manager will reward you with TM57 (Charge Beam), a decent Template:Type2 move that may raise the user's Special Attack.

Now that power is restored to Kanto, you can backtrack to a few side objectives:

• Back in Lavender Town, stop by the Radio Tower and talk to the Director by the north wall. Since you were able to restore power, he didn't lose his job. He gives you the EXPN Card for your Pokégear as thanks.

• Stop back in Saffron, and visit the Copycat's house again, northwest of the Silph Co. building. She asks you to retrieve her Poké Doll, which she thinks she lost in Vermilion. Stop by Vermilion's Pokémon Fan Club, and talk to the guy next to the "Clefairy" to obtain the Lost Item. Return it to the Copycat, and she'll reward you with the Pass, the ticket needed to board the Magnet Train.

A Foreign Legendary Spotted!

When you collect the Lost Item and step outside the Fan Club, you'll be greeted by Steven Stone, Champion of the Hoenn region. He asks if you have ever run across a Pokémon by the name of Latias^{Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.} / Latios^{Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.}. Being a Pokémon native to the Hoenn region, he is trying to determine why it recently decided to visit Kanto. The Eon Pokémon has a deep connection to the Soul Dew, which may explain its recent travel. Inspect the map on your Pokégear to track it down for a battle. If you have received the Enigma Stone from a Nintendo event, you can take it to Steven in the Pewter City Museum. He will have a researcher examine it, revealing that it is really the Soul Dew — the other Eon (Latios^{Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.} / Latias^{Wrong template. See Template:Sup/doc.}) will then appear outside the Museum, waiting to battle you.

With power restored and ticket in hand, you're finally able to ride the train between the two regions!
However, even with the power back on, Misty is still missing. To find her, travel back to Cerulean and head north to Route 24 and Route 25.

Routes 24 & 25

Check the northwest ledge on Route 24 to find a hidden Revive, then head east. Once you battle past the first six Trainers (and Super Nerd Pat), talk to Ace Trainer Kevin to get a Nugget, and another battle. North of here is a path behind a cuttable tree that leads to a Protein. When you reach Bill's cottage, you'll stumble upon Misty on a date nearby. The guy runs off, and Misty starts to yell at you... until she spots your Johto badges. She invites you to the Gym before heading back to town.

Inside Bill's house, his grandfather is house-sitting for him while he is away in Johto. If you show him a group of specific Pokémon, he will reward you with five of the elemental stones.

The Third Beast

After spotting it near Cianwood City, Mt. Mortar, Vermilion City, and Route 14, you will be able to battle Suicune on the hill east of Bill's house once Misty has returned to her Gym. If you fail to catch it, you can find it again in the Burned Tower's basement after defeating the Elite Four again.

Cerulean City

Cerulean Gym

Since you ruined her time off from the Gym, Misty has no choice but to return to her post.

The Cerulean Gym specializes in Template:Type2s, evident from the large indoor swimming pool. Electric- and Template:Type2s will work best here, and Grass-types are especially useful against Misty's Quagsire, bypassing its immunity to electricity. Look out for Quagsire's Earthquake and Golduck's Psychic. Starmie can be a bit annoying, because of its Confuse Ray and Recover moves, as well.

Once the battle is over, Misty awards you the Cascade Badge and TM03 (Water Pulse).

Now that you've got your badge, head south to Route 5.

Route 5

Jump down the ledges to reach the former Daycare building. An old woman inside will give you the Cleanse Tag, which decreases the chance of wild Pokémon battles when held by your lead Pokémon.

You can also visit the Cerulean-Vermilion Underground for another TM. Enter the tunnel and talk to the guy to trade your RageCandyBar (that you got from Mahogany Town) for his TM64 (Explosion).
