11 features several large patches of tall grass that separate Vermilion City from 12. To the northeast is Lavender Town, but a sleeping Snorlax blocks the east end of the route, forcing the player to find another way to get there.

Inside the gate, one of Oak's aides will reward the player for catching at least 30 different species with the Itemfinder, which detects any hidden items in the vicinity. Itemfinder can only be obtained when standing on top of them.

Not far from the aide is a kid who is hoping to trade. He offers either a Nidorina or a Nidorino, in exchange for its opposite-gender counterpart.

After pulling the plug on Lt. Surge, a Trainer's next destination is Lavender Town to the northeast.  The most direct way is to go east through 11 and then north through 12, but a sleeping Snorlax is blocking the road. Visiting the gate is still a good idea, since one of Oak's aides will give out the Itemfinder to Trainers who have gathered Pokédex data on at least 30 species.  Check the lone rock near the gate to find an Escape Rope.  The last point of interest is a kid on the second floor of the gate who is looking to trade.
Route 2 (east)
<br>
The east side of 2 was inaccessible when the player first passed through. Inside the house is a man looking to swap an Abra for his Mr. Mime, a rare Psychic Pokémon.
With Route 11 blocked, you have to take the long way around to Lavender Town instead.  Walk back towards Vermilion, but take a detour through Diglett's Cave instead.  Like the name says, the only Pokémon here are Diglett and Dugtrio. Since Flyings are immune to Ground attacks, this is a great time to give your aerial fighters (like Pidgey, Spearow, and Zubat) some experience.  This underground tunnel connects to the east side of 2, between Viridian Forest and Pewter City.

Route 2
Another of Oak's aides is waiting inside the gate. This assistant will reward the player for catching 10 different species with 05. Flash can be used to light up certain caves, making travel easier.

The guy inside the only house here is looking for an Abra.  If you've got one to spare from 24, you can swap it here for a Mr. Mime, a rare Psychic.  Leave the house and Cut down the nearby tree to head south. Inside the gate is another of Professor Oak's aides - this one has been instructed to hand out 05 to Trainers with at least 10 different species. That shouldn't be any problem, since you needed 30 kinds to get the Itemfinder.  Pick up the Ether and the Status ailment healing item further south.  Since it is nearby, interested Trainers can make a quick stop in Viridian and cut down the tree near the southwest pond to reach a move tutor.  This guy offers to teach a Pokémon the Dream Eater move.  With or without learning the move, trek back north to Pewter City.

As Viridian is so close, it is easy to revisit the city. Cut down the tree near the pond and speak to the man, a Move Tutor. He offers to teach a Pokémon how to use the Dream Eater move.

Pewter City
With HM01, it is possible to cut down the tree in the northeast part of the city to enter the museum's laboratory. Talk to the scientist standing next to the pedestal to receive the Old Amber. Take this to Cinnabar Island to regenerate an ancient Aerodactyl from the DNA trapped inside.

Back in town, you can now enter the employee-only area of the Museum, so cut down the tree and head on in.  Talk to the scientist next to the pedestal to get the Old Amber. If taken to the Pokémon Lab on Cinnabar Island, the scientists there can use the genetic material inside to resurrect an Aerodactyl.
There are also two other scientists in the back room. The one near the entrance is a Move Tutor, and offers to teach Seismic Toss to one of the player's Pokémon. Seismic Toss can be helpful against durable Pokémon because it inflicts damage equal to the user's level, regardless of the combatants' Attack or Defense.
<br><br>
With that done, now you're headed back to Cerulean City.  There are two options: wander through Mt. Moon again, or take the tunnel back past Vermilion City.

The next stop on the way to Lavender Town is 9. Either travel east from Pewter City again, or return to Vermilion City and head north. Once in Cerulean, pass through the burgled home and chop down the tree on the east side of town to continue.

Revision as of 08:31, 28 April 2017

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
These pages follow the remade Game Boy Advance iteration, not Pokémon Red and Blue. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 11

Route 11
Diglett's Cave

Route 11 features several large patches of tall grass that separate Vermilion City from Route 12.

Some items can only be obtained when standing on top of them.

Not far from the aide is a kid who is hoping to trade. He offers either a NidorinaFR or a NidorinoLG, in exchange for its opposite-gender counterpart.

Diglett's Cave

Diglett's Cave is a long tunnel that spans nearly the whole region, linking Route 11 to the east side of Route 2. Like the name implies, the only Pokémon that can be found here are Diglett and Dugtrio.

Route 2 (east)

The east side of Route 2 was inaccessible when the player first passed through. Inside the house is a man looking to swap an Abra for his Mr. Mime, a rare Psychic-type Pokémon.

Another of Oak's aides is waiting inside the gate. This assistant will reward the player for catching 10 different species with HM05 (Flash). Flash can be used to light up certain caves, making travel easier.

Viridian City

As Viridian is so close, it is easy to revisit the city. Cut down the tree near the pond and speak to the man, a Move Tutor. He offers to teach a Pokémon how to use the Dream Eater move.

Pewter City

With HM01, it is possible to cut down the tree in the northeast part of the city to enter the museum's laboratory. Talk to the scientist standing next to the pedestal to receive the Old Amber. Take this to Cinnabar Island to regenerate an ancient Aerodactyl from the DNA trapped inside.

The next stop on the way to Lavender Town is Route 9. Either travel east from Pewter City again, or return to Vermilion City and head north. Once in Cerulean, pass through the burgled home and chop down the tree on the east side of town to continue.

Route 3

If you travel through Route 3 again, you may battle Trainers that the you have battled previously.

Route 6

If you went back to Vermilion via Diglett's Cave and traveled again through Route 6, you may also rematch some trainers.

Route 9

Route 9

The rocky Route 9 stretches between Cerulean and Route 10. The uneven terrain continues until the next route, where it flattens out near a river.

Route 10 (north)

Route 10

To the south is a conveniently-placed Pokémon Center, the last outpost of civilization before venturing into Rock Tunnel. This dark, winding tunnel emerges on the south side of Route 10, just outside of Lavender Town.

Another of Oak's aides can be found inside the Pokémon Center. If the player has caught at least 20 different species, he rewards him/her with an Everstone. When held, this unique stone prevents the Pokémon from evolving.
