The Pokémon Mansion in the northwest has been abandoned, having been destroyed by a Mewtwo that broke free of its prison and escaped. Fortunately, the Pokémon Lab next to the Poké Center was spared, so the fossil resurrection experiment is still operational. This technological mecca is also home to the seventh Gym, which is locked until the player finds the Secret Key in the Pokémon Mansion.
To the northwest is Pokémon Mansion, a building left in ruins after Mewtwo broke free of its prison and escaped. Fortunately, the Pokémon Lab to the south was spared, so the Fossil revitalization experiment is still operational. The Cinnabar Gym is locked up tight, so Blaine is out of reach for now.

<br>
The Cinnabar Gym is locked up tight, and without the List of key items in Generation III, Trainers won't be able to challenge Blaine.  Sneak into the Pokémon Mansion behind the lab to track down the key.

R-and-D Room
Move Tutor
In the Research-and-Development Room, a Super Nerd offers to teach Metronome to one of 's Pokémon. Metronome is a unique attack, one that executes nearly any other known move, aside from Metronome (move).

Pokémon Mansion
Testing Room
In the Testing Room, the man near the door is willing to trade his Seel for a Ponyta.

Buried somewhere in these ruins is the List of key items in Generation III to the Cinnabar Gym. Scattered throughout the building are journal entries describing the secret experiment that was conducted on the island, resulting in one of Mewtwo.
The Scientist in the back is the one to see about reviving Fossils. Give him the Fossil to get an Omanyte, or the Fossil to get a Kabuto; both are Pokémon that lived in the primordial ocean. Turning over the Fossil results in the Aerodactyl, ruler of the prehistoric skies.

1F
Once given a Fossil, the scientist will say that he needs more time to revive it. Walk out of the Lab building and back in, and it should be ready.

To find the key, walk straight ahead from the entrance to reach the stairs to the second floor. Check every statue; the hidden switches inside open some doors while closing others. Flip switches as necessary to collect all the items.
Pokémon Mansion
The key to the Gym is lying around somewhere in this decrepit building. Also in the mansion are a handful of journal entries that describe the secret experiment that was conducted on the island. One of the obstacles between and the III are the Pokémon statues scattered around. Each one has a hidden switch inside, which opens some doors and closes others when pressed. Several Burglars also prowl the wreckage for abandoned items.

After his defeat, Blaine awards the Volcano to victorious Trainers, as well as 38. The badge also heightens a Pokémon's Special stats. <br><br>

Revision as of 05:09, 7 May 2017

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
These pages follow the remade Game Boy Advance iteration, not Pokémon Red and Blue. The guide for those games can be found here.

Cinnabar Island

Cinnabar Island

To the northwest is Pokémon Mansion, a building left in ruins after a violent, genetically-engineered Pokémon broke free of its prison and escaped. Fortunately, the Pokémon Lab to the south was spared, so the Fossil revitalization experiment is still operational. The Cinnabar Gym is locked up tight, so Blaine is out of reach for now.

Pokémon Lab

Meeting Room

In the Meeting Room, two of the three people are looking to trade. The old man wants to trade his Electrode for a Raichu, and the woman offers her Tangela for a Venonat.

R-and-D Room

Move Tutor

In the Research-and-Development Room, a Super Nerd offers to teach Metronome to one of Leaf's Pokémon. Metronome is a unique attack, one that executes nearly any other known move, aside from a few exceptions.

Testing Room

In the Testing Room, the man near the door is willing to trade his Seel for a Ponyta.

The Scientist in the back is the one to see about reviving Fossils. Give him the Helix Fossil to get an Omanyte, or the Dome Fossil to get a Kabuto; both are Rock/Water Pokémon that lived in the primordial ocean. Turning over the Old Amber results in the Rock/Flying Aerodactyl, ruler of the prehistoric skies.

Once given a Fossil, the scientist will say that he needs more time to revive it. Walk out of the Lab building and back in, and it should be ready.

Pokémon Mansion

The key to the Gym is lying around somewhere in this decrepit building. Also in the mansion are a handful of journal entries that describe the secret experiment that was conducted on the island. One of the obstacles between Leaf and the Secret Key are the Pokémon statues scattered around. Each one has a hidden switch inside, which opens some doors and closes others when pressed. Several Burglars also prowl the wreckage for abandoned items.

Pokémon Mansion, 2F
Pokémon Mansion, 3F
Pokémon Mansion, B1F

1F

Walk straight ahead from the entrance and climb the stairs to the second floor.

2F

Head to the northeast, where the first journal entry is lying on a table. Beyond that is a Calcium near the east wall. Climb the stairs in the northwest room.

3F

Head east through the north door to find an Iron. Flip the statue switch to open the south door, check the east end of the hallway for a hidden Rare Candy, then go down the southeast stairs.

2F

Collect the HP Up and climb back upstairs.

3F

Jump off the smaller balcony to the east.

2F

Go west to find a second journal entry in the southwest room. Grab the Zinc from the southern balcony, and take the stairs to a separate area of the third floor.

3F (southwest)

This area of the third floor has a Burglar, a third journal entry, and a Max Potion.

2F

Flip the switch and climb the stairs in the northwest room.

3F

Approach Scientist Braydon again, and jump off the larger balcony to the west to land on the first floor.

1F (south)

Battle Scientist Ted, pick up the Carbos, and take the stairs to the basement.

B1F

Fight Burglar Lewis in the southern room, where the final journal entry is located. Flip the statue switch, grab the Full Restore near the basement's southwest corner, and head east. Follow the narrow hallway in the northeast to battle one last Scientist, and flip the final switch. Head west to collect TM14 (Blizzard), the Secret Key, and TM22 (SolarBeam).

Cinnabar Gym

Cinnabar Gym

CINNABAR ISLAND POKéMON GYM
LEADER: BLAINE

The Hotheaded Quiz Master!

The Cinnabar Gym specializes in Fire-type Pokémon, so Water-, Ground-, and Rock-type moves will deal the most damage. Avoid bringing Bug-, Grass-, and Ice-type Pokémon—unless those Ice types are also part-Water. When playing with fire, be prepared with a few Burn Heals. Blaine enjoys riddles and puzzles, and uses this to test his challengers. Answering each question correctly unlocks the next door, allowing Leaf to bypass each Gym Trainer.

Question Answer
Caterpie evolves into Metapod? Yes
There are nine certified Pokémon League Badges? No
Poliwag evolves three times? No
Are electric moves effective against Ground-type Pokémon? No
Pokémon of the same kind and level are not identical? Yes
TM28 contains Tombstony? No
Cinnabar Gym
The Volcano Badge

Defeated, Blaine awards Leaf the Volcano Badge, which gives a slight boost to both Special Attack and Special Defense during battle, and enables the use of Waterfall in the field. He also hands over TM38 (Fire Blast) as a prize.

The Sevii Islands

Leaf leaves the Gym and runs into Bill outside. A friend has invited him for a visit on the first of a chain of newly discovered islands, far to the south of the Kanto mainland, and he in turn invites Leaf along. This visit could take a while, so if she needs to prepare, Bill will wait patiently in the Pokémon Center.
