Having received the III from the caretakers atop Mt. Pyre, the next step is to use it. Fly back to Lavaridge Town and 112, then either enter Jagged Pass from the south and use the III to scale the cliffs, or ride the cable car to the summit and descend. Hike through the area until you reach the halfway point, where you passed that Magma Grunt on your first visit. Just then, a suspicious-looking part of the cliffside begins shaking in response to the Magma Emblem. By the time the tremor subsides, a gaping hole has appeared in the rock!
The lengthy 120 runs southeast from Fortree City to 121. The long grass makes great cover for Pokémon capable of camouflaging themselves. In this route in some areas the weather is raining constantly.  Two separate ruins, Scorched Slab and the Ancient Tomb, are located here.

Magma Hideout
Located deep in the side of Mt. Chimney, the Team Magma Hideout serves as the terrestrial team's base of operations. Many strange machines can be found inside, and one chamber even holds excavation equipment for further expansion.

Gabby and Ty
After defeating Gabby and Ty on 118, the news team can now be found in the northeast corner of the route. Accept their challenge and give them another great interview afterwards!

1F
The Unseen Objects
Enter the base, turn the corner, and use Strength to move past the group of boulders. Continue on to battle the Grunt on the east side of the chamber, then take the southeast doorway.
You meet Steven again on the northern bridge. It seems that another unseen object blocks the way forward, but luckily, he has a way to solve this mystery. He puts on the Devon Scope, a high-tech piece of eyewear that reveals invisible objects. Sure enough, it reveals a Kecleon in front of you; catch or defeat the Pokémon to clear the bridge. Pleased with your actions, Steven allows you to keep the device. With the Devon Scope in hand, you can chase off the Kecleon outside the Gym. Head back into town to win your next Badge, or continue exploring the route.

2F
In the route 119 there are 2 invisible Kecleon, while in the route 120 there are 6 invisible Kecleon.
Make your way down the cliffside, battling four more Grunts along the way. After that, head through the mid-level doorway to detour for a handful of items.

2F (Room 2)
Scorched Slab
Go north to fight a couple of Grunts in a Double Battle, then collect the Potion just beyond them. Head back south, then turn east to battle another two Grunts and grab the Max Elixir to the northwest. Continue eastward and head through the northeast doorway.
Scorched Slab is a cave jutting up out of the north lake. The entrance lies at water level, so the single chamber inside holds mostly water. At the far end of the cave, a small slab of rock holds a single bit of treasure, 11.

Back on 1F, follow the elevated path to the southwest, battling a single Grunt along the way to the path's end, where you find a Vitamin. Backtrack through 2F (Room 2) to the southwest doorway to return to 2F.

A Berry A Day
Continue down the cliffside and go through the doorway at the bottom.
The route splits near its south end, with the western trail leading up to a plateau. Talk to the Beauty near the stairway and she'll give you one rare Berry every day. The kind of Berry received depends on the last digit of your Trainer ID number.

Head west around the lava pool to battle the first Grunt. Walk down the stairway and go through the doorway to the east.

3F (Room 2)
Ancient Tomb
Pick up a Vitamin to the northwest and battle the Grunt to the northeast, then return to the previous chamber.
The unusual arrangement of stones on the southwest plateau is known as the Ancient Tomb. It is believed to mark the resting place of a legendary Pokémon. But with the entrance sealed, you won't be able to investigate until later.

3F
Fortree City
Walk down the stairway and fight the second Grunt. Go west and collect the Valuable item before heading south through the doorway.

The Fortree Gym specializes in Flying Pokémon, which take serious damage from Electric, Rock, and Ice moves. The Gym is fairly straightforward, with a single path leading up to the Gym Leader's lofty perch. The only obstacles are turnstiles, some of which can only be spun in certain directions. Pass through the first two turnstiles to reach Bird Keeper Humberto. After that, spin the third turnstile clockwise to reach Picnicker Ashley and Bird Keeper Jared. Spin the fourth turnstile clockwise, then do the same for the fifth. Go back to the fourth and push the larger side southward, then spin it clockwise again. Pass through the fifth turnstile again to reach Camper Flint and Bird Keeper Edwardo on the other side. Defeat Bird Keeper Darius to the west, then there are only three turnstiles left. Spin the smallest one counter-clockwise without walking through it, then pass through all three in a counter-clockwise circle. Push the larger side of the southeast one eastward, then go northeast to reach the Gym Leader.

Winona starts off with Swablu; not very threatening on its own, but Mirror Move executes the previous move used by the target, and Perish Song causes any Pokémon on the field to faint in three turns. Her Tropius relies on the sun; Sunny Day both doubles its Speed due to its Chlorophyll Ability, eliminates the charging turn needed for SolarBeam while active. It also makes Synthesis more effective, restoring 66% of its HP rather than the usual 50%. Her Pelipper takes massive damage from Electric attacks. Rock moves are also effective, but Rock Pokémon should be wary of its Water Gun. Skarmory has several resistances and a high physical Defense, which may rise even higher due to Steel Wing. Sand-Attack makes it harder to hit, while Aerial Ace's perfect accuracy lets it reliably land a hit. Due to its Dragon typing, her Altaria takes only normal damage from Electric moves. Rock moves will be more effective, and Ice moves are greater still. It can target unsuspecting Electric types with Earthquake, and can raise its Attack and Speed with Dragon Dance.

Collect a Revive from the northwest corner, then turn south. Up ahead, you find Maxie standing on the edge of a lava pool, talking to the sleeping form of the super-ancient Pokémon, Groudon. He holds the III high, and its light awakens the ancient beast, which immediately escapes. Maxie blames you, accusing you of some "cheap stunt", and prepares for battle!

Upon her defeat, Winona awards you the Feather, which ensures obedience from all Pokémon up to level 70 and enables the use of Fly in the field. This move allows you to instantly revisit any city or town you've previously explored. She also hands out 40 as a prize, and registers herself in your PokéNav.

Defeated, Maxie flees to search for Groudon. Take the south doorway for a shortcut back to the entrance, and collect the Escape Rope along the way through 3F (Room 3) and 2F (Room 3).
A short time after you leave the Gym, you receive a call from Scott. He's impressed that you defeated the Fortree Gym, and wonders if you could be the Trainer he's been searching for. He also reminds you that he'll keep cheering for you from the sidelines.

Slateport City
Trick House - Puzzle 5 (optional)
When you arrive in Slateport, head straight for the northeast part of town. Outside Slateport Harbor, you find Captain Stern wrapping up a TV interview in front of a small crowd. Afterwards, you catch up with him for a little chat where he informs you of his newest discovery. He's found an underwater cavern on 128, and believes it to be the den of a super-ancient Pokémon long though to have been extinct. Just then, you hear a voice booming out from a megaphone. It's Archie, who mocks the captain and thanks him for the submarine.
In Trick House now you can complete the puzzle 5.

Slateport Harbor
Route 121
After rushing inside the building, you find Archie and a Grunt standing near the sub, ready to depart. He accepts that you won't simply leave him to his plans, and wonders if you will visit their hideout in Lilycove City. But he's come too far to be stopped now, and he and the Grunt quickly escape in the sub.

Lilycove City
Compared to its neighbor to the west, 121 is smaller and more straightforward. 122 runs off to the south, while Lilycove City lies to the east. The north side of the route is home to the Hoenn, a park that attracts Trainers from across the region.

A port city, Lilycove mirrors Slateport with its impressive size, its scenic lighthouse, and its spacious harbor. The main attraction is the Lilycove Department Store, while the Contest Hall, Lilycove Museum, and Cove Lily Motel are also located here.

A Sighting
It's not long before you catch a glimpse of Team Aqua. These Grunts are in a rush to reach Mt. Pyre, and take off to the south. Go first to east.

Pokémon Trainer Fan Club
Lilycove City (briefly)
Members of the Pokémon Trainer Fan Club discuss popular Pokémon Trainers and Gym Leaders. After entering the Hall of Fame, several members announce themselves as your fans, as well.
Visit the Cove Lily Motel.

Cove Lily Motel
Cove Lily Motel
Team Aqua's hideout on the edge of town has kept most tourists away, bringing the Cove Lily Motel's business to a halt. As a result, there's nothing of interest here at the moment. After resolving the conflict with the villainous team and entering the Hall of Fame, the Game Freak staff will visit the motel during their trip to Hoenn. The Game Designer will give Trainers the Poké Diploma after completing the Hoenn Pokédex.
Scott can be found napping at a table on the upper level. If you want to win 3 BP from Scott later then talk with him in this moment since he only appears in this place before Team Aqua steals the submarine from Slateport City.

Scott can be found napping at a table on the upper level. He thinks Pokémon Contests are entertaining, but still prefers battles and tough Trainers. He urges you to enjoy every kind of trial--Gyms, Contests, Battle Tents, the works!
Route 122
Pokémon Contest Hall
122 is a short, simple ocean route stretching between Routes 121 and 123, with Mt. Pyre standing tall in the center.
The Contest Hall stands on the south side of town. This building hosts all four Contest levels—Normal Rank, Super Rank, Hyper Rank, and Master Rank.

Pokéblock Master's House
Lilycove Museum
The Lilycove Museum stands in the northwest part of town. The museum's curator initially blocks the stairs to the second floor because the upper level is empty. If you happen to win a Master Rank Pokémon Contest with at least 800 points, an artist will approach you saying that he's done a painting that might even look good in a museum, at which point you direct him to the Lilycove Museum. If you collect one painting for each of the five Contest categories, the curator will reward you with a Ornament for your Secret Base.
Move Deleter's House
The first house to the east of the Department Store is home to the Move Deleter, an absent-minded man with the power to make a Pokémon forget any move. This is the only way for a Pokémon to forget an HM move. Unlike the Move Reminder in Fallarbor Town, the Move Deleter's services are free of charge.

Route 120

Route 120

The lengthy Route 120 runs southeast from Fortree City to Route 121. The long grass makes great cover for Pokémon capable of camouflaging themselves. In this route in some areas the weather is raining constantly. Two separate ruins, Scorched Slab and the Ancient Tomb, are located here.

Gabby and Ty

After defeating Gabby and Ty on Route 118, the news team can now be found in the northeast corner of the route. Accept their challenge and give them another great interview afterwards!

The Unseen Objects

You meet Steven again on the northern bridge. It seems that another unseen object blocks the way forward, but luckily, he has a way to solve this mystery. He puts on the Devon Scope, a high-tech piece of eyewear that reveals invisible objects. Sure enough, it reveals a Kecleon in front of you; catch or defeat the Pokémon to clear the bridge. Pleased with your actions, Steven allows you to keep the device. With the Devon Scope in hand, you can chase off the Kecleon outside the Gym. Head back into town to win your next Badge, or continue exploring the route.

In the route 119 there are 2 invisible Kecleon, while in the route 120 there are 6 invisible Kecleon.

Scorched Slab

Scorched Slab is a cave jutting up out of the north lake. The entrance lies at water level, so the single chamber inside holds mostly water. At the far end of the cave, a small slab of rock holds a single bit of treasure, TM11 (Sunny Day).

A Berry A Day

The route splits near its south end, with the western trail leading up to a plateau. Talk to the Beauty near the stairway and she'll give you one rare Berry every day. The kind of Berry received depends on the last digit of your Trainer ID number.

Berry Condition
Figy Berry Figy Berry ID number ends in 0 or 5
Wiki Berry Wiki Berry ID number ends in 1 or 6
Mago Berry Mago Berry ID number ends in 2 or 7
Aguav Berry Aguav Berry ID number ends in 3 or 8
Iapapa Berry Iapapa Berry ID number ends in 4 or 9

Ancient Tomb

The unusual arrangement of stones on the southwest plateau is known as the Ancient Tomb. It is believed to mark the resting place of a legendary Pokémon. But with the entrance sealed, you won't be able to investigate until later.

Fortree City

Fortree Gym

Fortree Gym

Fortree City Pokémon Gym
Leader: Winona

The bird user taking flight into the world.

The Fortree Gym specializes in Flying-type Pokémon, which take serious damage from Electric, Rock, and Ice moves.

Fortree Gym
The Feather Badge

Upon her defeat, Winona awards you the Feather Badge, which ensures obedience from all Pokémon up to level 70 and enables the use of Fly in the field. This move allows you to instantly revisit any city or town you've previously explored. She also hands out TM40 (Aerial Ace) as a prize, and registers herself in your PokéNav.

A short time after you leave the Gym, you receive a call from Scott. He's impressed that you defeated the Fortree Gym, and wonders if you could be the Trainer he's been searching for. He also reminds you that he'll keep cheering for you from the sidelines.

Trick House - Puzzle 5 (optional)

In Trick House now you can complete the puzzle 5.

Route 121

Route 121

Compared to its neighbor to the west, Route 121 is smaller and more straightforward. Route 122 runs off to the south, while Lilycove City lies to the east. The north side of the route is home to the Safari Zone, a park that attracts Trainers from across the region.

A Sighting

It's not long before you catch a glimpse of Team Aqua. These Grunts are in a rush to reach Mt. Pyre, and take off to the south. Go first to east.

Lilycove City (briefly)

Visit the Cove Lily Motel.

Cove Lily Motel

Scott can be found napping at a table on the upper level. If you want to win 3 BP from Scott later then talk with him in this moment since he only appears in this place before Team Aqua steals the submarine from Slateport City.

Route 122

Route 122

Route 122 is a short, simple ocean route stretching between Routes 121 and 123, with Mt. Pyre standing tall in the center.
