Appealing is the five moves performed in a Pokémon contest to impress the judges. Many unprecedented actions may occur during these turns, such as a Pokémon being jammed and losing hearts. These variables are uncontrollable, so the coordinator must be ready to come back after a jam.

Move combos

There are certain moves that, when used consecutively, can give the Pokémon extra hearts, such as Sunny Day and Solarbeam. All move combos are either the same type or are related in some way. Though one move will power up another, using a move of a different contest type than the current contest will still not gain the same amount of hearts.
