Acid (Japanese: ようかいえき Melting Liquid) is a Poison-type move introduced in Generation I that deals a small amount of damage.

Effect

Generation I

Acid does damage and has a 9.8% chance of lowering the opponent's defense by 1 level.

Acid will not be able to lower the opponent's defense if it has reached a level of -6 or a value of 1, or if the opponent has a Substitute.

Generation III

Acid will hit both opponents in a Double Battle and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Defense by 1 level.

Generation IV

Acid will hit both opponents in a Double Battle and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense by 1 level.
