- Music from Mewtwo Strikes Back was used in this episode.
- Max's "magic" he used on Swablu is similar to the idea of pixie dust in Peter Pan.
- Max uses the placebo effect when using the "magic" on Swablu also.
- In this episode, Team Rocket uses a variation of their motto.
Errors
- Brock tells May to soak Swablu's bandages in the green medicine and feed it the other medicine, but she is shown feeding it the green medicine.
