Is it really accurate to say that Draco Meteor is the only TM, HM, or tutor move that Mew can't learn, when the elemental hyper beams are also tutor moves that Mew can't learn? I think the trivia should have a qualification of some sort. - Buddy Christ

:Mew can learn it. Mine did. The only reason why other people's Mews can't, is because their Mews' happiness isn't high enough. If anyone has a legit Mew, load it up with vitamins, and bring it to the Draco Meteor tutor. Then, you'll see that it can learn it. [[User:Baby G|Baby G]] 13:37, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmmmm

Why is there a need to put under the page "move"? Jayh272416 09:08, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

It's just the way things are done on the site. Don't worry about it.--OmegaPlatinum 04:03, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Draco Meteor trivia

I remember this is the move that was designed by some Japanese fan around April to June 2006. Was his or her name ever published? --Johans Nidorino 21:18, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

When I saw this move, the first thing I thought of was Harry Potter's enemy, Draco Malfoy ... Hehe. Tesh 21:28, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

No, there will not be a Psychic move called Trelawney Meteor. TTEchidna 00:56, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Would be funny if there was... :] Tesh 14:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

BTW, if anyone is interested in investigating who was that fan, remember the press first translated "りゅうせいぐん" as "Meteoric Swarm". --Johans 02:11, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Mew?

Mew's page says it can't learn this... Which page is right?

Mew can't. Dragon-types only. Arceus can't even learn it unless it becomes a Dragon-type. TTEchidna 20:59, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Before anyone else inquires, no, Mew can't learn Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, or Hydro Cannon either. For one, none of those three was ever a TM, unlike the other move tutors in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. Secondly, how would the old woman at Cape Brink be able to know which move you'd be trying to teach it? --Shiningpikablu252 21:13, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I think the mention of Mew should be removed from the article entirely. Mew is not "supposedly able to learn every move", it is able to learn every Machine. Doesn't it say below in red not to misrepresent misconceptions as fact? --ZellMurasame 16:36, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
In FR/LG/E, it can learn every tutor move except the not-so-great Elemental Beams. Hence why we mention it. Tina δ 16:39, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes but as it is stated above, those were never Technical or Hidden Machines. So it would make sense that they could (and are) excluded. Every tutor move Mew learns is already a TM. --ZellMurasame 16:44, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Flamethrower wasn't before Gen II (though it would become one). I also cite Mew's Pokédex entry for FireRed: "A Pokémon from South America that was thought to have been extinct. It is very intelligent and learns any move." And as well, let me cite the entry for Pearl: "Many scholars regard it as the ancestor of Pokémon since it can use all known moves." I've added the emphasis, of course. I merely added the disclaimer because it says repeatedly in the games that Mew can learn any move. Not any machine move, but any move, period. And so the games are liars and we must attest to this. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 20:15, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
I was thinking that Mew could be "able to learn" these moves if they were just random specialized moves, but Mew is just "not allowed to" in a sense, because of their meaning and purpose. The meaning and purpose of these moves (to be tailor-made for the starters and the Dragon-type Pokémon) is what disallows the tutors to teach them to Mew. They're like regular move tutors, except that they have an extra condition in their programming. If Volt Tackle weren't an Egg move but a tutor move for the Pikachu family, such move tutor would probably not allow Mew to learn Volt Tackle. And yeah... That second paragraph sounds a little trivia-like; its first sentence would be enough IMO. --Johans 16:34, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Sketching it!

Can Smeargle actually 'learn' the move Draco Meteor? I thought that it could just use through Sketch. Also, can't pokémons knowing the move Metronome use this move? :Misty-May-Dawn rulz 13:17, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Sketch causes Smeargle to actually learn the targeted move. Permanently. In this way, Smeargle is the only Pokémon able to haveFrenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, and Draco Meteor in the same moveset. ****, it can have any four moves in the game in the same moveset! Can Mew do that? No. --Shiningpikablu252 13:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
OK, but even then, Pokémons like Clefable which know Metronome, even they can use this move, can't they? Misty-May-Dawn rulz 06:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes, they can. --Johans 08:30, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
