Solosis (Japanese: ユニラン Uniran) is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Duosion starting at level 32, which evolves into Reuniclus starting at level 41.
Biology
Solosis is a round, green Pokémon surrounded by a darker green, gel-like substance. This liquid covering allows Solosis to live under any conditions, even in the vacuum of space, but when taking heavy blows, its fluid covering may leak away. Its inner body has dark, oval eyes and a red diamond-shaped mouth. On the upper left side of its head is a curly, yellow growth that resembles the endoplasmic reticulum of a cell. It uses psychic powers to communicate with telepathy, as well as to drive away potential threats.
Evolution
Solosis evolves into Duosion, which evolves into Reuniclus.

In the TCG
- Main article: Solosis (TCG)
Trivia
- Solosis can be seen as a parallel to Gothita. Both are Generation V Psychic-type Pokémon evolving once at level 32 and then again at level 41. Solosis is exclusive to Pokémon White, White 2, and Shield, while Gothita is exclusive to Pokémon Black, Black 2, and Sword. They both have the same base experience and catch rates, gain new moves at similar levels and have base stat totals of 290.
- Solosis and its evolutionary relatives are the only known Pokémon to learn Thunder by TM/TR but not Thunderbolt in every generation they appear in.
Origin
Solosis and the rest of its evolutionary line seem to bear reference to cells, with the head representing the nucleus, the green substance surrounding their bodies resembling cytoplasm and the objects inside their bodies representing organelles. The line down its head also resembles a cleavage furrow in cell biology. It may also make allusion to the embryonary stages, specifically the stage of morula.
Solosis's ability to survive in extreme conditions, including the vacuum of space, may be inspired by extremophiles or other highly resistant micro-animals such as the tardigrade.
Name origin
Solosis may be a combination of solo (singular) and meiosis or mitosis (cell division).
Uniran may be a combination of uni- (prefix meaning one, as in unicellular organism) and 卵 ran (spawn). It may also refer to se unirán (Spanish for "they will join together"), as Solosis appears to be made of two parts.
