Changing the title to trio after the release of Ultra Sun and Moon?

So is this article going to change the title to "Cosmic trio" after revealing that Necrozma to be third legendary pokémon like all the article that first come with duo before trio?

Singaporean (talk) 11:17, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

If it is confirmed that Necrozma is indeed part of the trio, then it'll get moved. Right now, there's only hints, there are no full confirmation that Necrozma is part of the trio. --ForceFire 11:22, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. Unlike, others just deleted for no reason and only stating at the editing part. Singaporean (talk) 11:30, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
It is really not surprising now, this article will soon move it to Trio since recent update from Coro Coro that Necrozma is the mascot of Ultra Sun and Moon as it both form of "Wings of Dawn" and "Mane of Dusk" similar to what Kyurem. But I believe it is not going to be had the same ability like DNA splice or fusion transforming both form respectively by unknowingly from some kind of move. We won't see any of it until the game release. Singaporean (talk) 12:49, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
Also does this article going to lock as well after the recent update, huh? My apologize for another unusual reply, Admin? Because, I believe many people will come here to edit right away with all the speculation for nothing after hearing that. Singaporean (talk) 12:52, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
In the USUM guide, there's an interview saying this...
"I dug into the original setting in my own mind, reconstructed it, and gave Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala this deep relationship. Necrozma can control light, but it cannot create light. So it has a strong desire to steal the light from Solgaleo and Lunala, which both possess their own light" -Iwao
Considering this "deep relationship", personally, it seems obvious that Necrozma shares a relationship with Solgaleo and Lunala worthy of trio status.
With this being said, I don't think cosmic trio is an accurate name anymore. I'm not sure what the fan name is either. If we decide on something non-fan, I suggest "Light Trio". --Celadonkey 16:17, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
Agreed, "Light trio" does fit with all of their connection and talk about light.Animaltamer710:02, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Its rather fitting the Light, it symbolizes their roles in Alola and connection the the Z-Move, I say we make it official and add Necrozma to the page agreed?--Jacob Kogan (talk) 03:18, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
Just in case: please be aware that this sort of decision must be approved by staff. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:23, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
I am counting on that when it comes just like with the Legendary Trio of Kalos.--Jacob Kogan (talk) 04:09, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
We have now gotten staff confirmation that Necrozma is a part of this trio, but just to be sure: should I add this information to the page? --Celadonkey 22:47, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Can we revive this discussion? To me, it’s clear that Necrozma is more than related enough to be considered a cosmic trio. Hell, we even have official confirmation as a direct quote from Kazumasa Iwao, the director of USUM, used in the official guidebook. Besides that, Necrozma can fuse with Lunala and Solgaleo, and all three of them are related on a lore level as well. --Celadonkey 16:36, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Just the Tao Trio for example correct?--Jacob Kogan (talk) 02:41, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
Yes, exactly like the Tao Trio, except this time, with a direct quote explicitly noting the connection. --Celadonkey 03:26, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

Image

Assuming that Necrozma is part of a trio w/ Solgaleo and Lunala, we should use this image if and when it's confirmed: Ultra Sun Ultra Moon Necrozma Solgaleo Lunala artwork.png

It's a nice looking picture that portrays all three well, and I think it's much better than the TCG playmat we have now.

Just for future reference. --Celadonkey 01:39, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Possible conformation on Necrozma being a part of the Cosmic Duo/Cosmic Trio

Hi I may have some official facts on Necrozma being apart of Solgaleo and Lunala as trio. Here from Iwano himself and Official USUM National Pokedex Guide Book.

"What is Necrozma's Core? Iwano: I dug deep into the original setting in my own mind, reconstructed it, and gave Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala, this deep relationship. Necrozma can control light but it cannot create light. So its has a strong desire to steal the light Solgaleo and Lunala, which both possess their own light. These three are always struggling agnaist one another in Ultra Space. Necrozma might steal the night of the others and flee, then solgaleo and Lunala might give chase and take the light back-and on and on it would go. They always lived that, but the balance of this relationship among them but was thrown off due to the interference of the Ultra Reacon Squad. In Necorzma's World and the people living in Alola, like the protagonist. As a result- even though really only ever needed small amount of energy-Necorzma comes to gain a huge amount of engird beyond what Necrozma anticipated, when it captures Solgaleo or Lunala. And because of the gaining of this excessive energy, Necorzma goes berserk. This is what we called "Ultra Necrozma". We wanted to depict the drama of the hero encountering this Ultra Necrozma at the climax of this story. It was the actions go the people that made Necorzma run amok, but in the end, it will be caught by the player and join them as a ally. Thanks to that Necorzma will be able to draw forth its won true power again and become able to accompany the player on their island challenge, without needing to target the lives of Solgaleo or Lunala. We wanted to illustrate how the relationship between Necorzma, Solgaleo, and Lunala, whivh had been destroyed by the past, is forged again by the hero's actions and the balance of the world is restored." - unsigned comment from Jacob9594 (talkcontribs)

I posted the same quote in an above section --Celadonkey 19:44, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

I noticed too late when I posted this, sorry about that.--Jacob Kogan (talk) 19:57, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Pokémon SM Episode 74 Revel

So I just finished watching the episode and saw there was a Legend surrounding Ultra Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala in the episode. Does this finally confirmed their status as a Legendary trio, just like how Zyagrde was finally confirmed to be a third member of the Arua thanks to XYZ special?--Jacob Kogan (talk) 14:33, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

I think they were already confirmed explicitly, from the interviews in the USUM guide. We just need to wait for staff confirmation. ForceFire has expressed their opinion but staff as a whole needs to make a decision. --Celadonkey 14:37, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Fair point, we got plenty for that to make their finally decision. Thank you for the friendly reminder.--Jacob Kogan (talk) 15:00, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Cosmic trio, obviously

Necrozma: Uses Solgaleo/Lunala's battle theme in SM

Is the box mascot of USM

Is next on the Pokédex after Solgaleo and Lunala (and the original Ultra Beasts)

Can fuse with Solgaleo and Lunala

Stated in Iwano's interview as in a "relationship" with Solgaleo and Lunala

Is a "Special Pokémon" (ie banned from battle facilities), like Solgaleo and Lunala

Is featured in an artwork with Solgaleo and Lunala

If that's not a trio, then I don't know what is. --CosmicTreeOh (talk) 19:28, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

I wholeheartedly agree. It is worth mentioning that a few of those points aren't really good enough for BP standards, but the "Stated in Iwao's interview as in a 'relationship' with Solgaleo and Lunala" is better confirmation than a lot of things we have. In fact, staff members have considered it a trio as well... It's completely confirmed and we have been sitting on it for quite a while now, I think it's more than time to add it to the page. (We would need staff confirmation first, though.) --Celadonkey 20:44, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
It's been approved, it's just the name that needs deciding. Right now, Light trio and Cosmic trio appear to be the candidates.--ForceFire 03:41, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
It is because both of those symbolizes a certain characterizes on the Legendaries like the Aura and Creation Trio for example? So pick a name that been around for several years or the name that came up thanks to the USUM Lore? Whatever name is chosen by the staff it will be associated for years to come and for those who have questions on then.--Jacob Kogan (talk) 04:05, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
I support "Light Trio". Cosmic Trio, although matches the name we have now, doesn't really suit Necrozma, who doesn't clearly seem to be based off of any cosmic body. Light is the overarching theme of the trio. --Celadonkey 04:26, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
Plus Light Trio Makes a lot more sense given the fact they brought Light to Alola and can use and create light.--Jacob Kogan (talk) 05:34, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

Updating Template

So now that the trio thing is official can e create a a Base Stats Template Page for Light Trio by including Necrozma and its three others forms to the to the Duo template? I don't how to make a six version as it does not exist on the site and I don't know to create it,, can someone help when they have the chance if possible?--Jacob Kogan (talk) 16:40, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

I've made one, so we just need to wait for it or a similar template to be mainspaced. --Celadonkey 02:31, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Alola Creation Myth?

The anime has a whole legend about the light trio, are we not gonna add that legend?

I tried that already once, that got deleted. Mostly because some of the Legend was also as in Game. You could add but you to give them a good reason for it to stay.--Jacob9594 (talk) 13:25, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
I don't follow the anime so I'm not really in the know about that, but if it's sufficiently different from the games' lore, I'd say it's worth an add. Judging from this page's history and Jacob9594's edit, it seems mostly the same, though. --celadonk (talk) 14:25, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
