Appearance-wise, seems like a cross between a European dragons and a shark.
Name origin
Fukamaru's name may be a combination of 鱶 fuka, shark, and 丸 maru, common historical name suffix for boys. Gible may be a combination of ground and nibble.
Origin
Quagsire appears to be based on an adult axoltl, a species of salamander. Normally, wild axoltl have flat tails and feathery, external gills - like Wooper. However, under the care of humans, they can mature into amphibians more closely resembling other species of salamander.

Name origin
Quagsire's name is a combination of quagmire, and sire.
Quagsire (Japanese: ヌオー Nuoh) is a Water/Ground-type Pokémon, first seen in Pokémon Gold and Silver. It is also available in Pokémon Crystal, Pokémon FireRed, Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Colosseum.

Quagsire comes with one of two abilities: Damp, which prevents any Pokémon from using Selfdestruct or Explosion; or Water Absorb, which causes an opponent's Water-type attacks to restore HP rather than deal damage.

Quagsire evolves via level from Wooper starting at level 20.

Biology
Physiology
Gender differences
The "fin" running down a female Quagsire's back is smaller than that of a male.

Special abilities
Behavior
Quagsire are quiet care-free and relaxed. Because of this, they tend to bump into boat hulls. Once a year, when the moon is full, wild Quagsire collect round objects like balls and swim to Blue Moon Falls, where they attempt to shoot the balls to the top of a waterfall with their Water Gun attacks to see who can launch their objects the highest. The day after, the objects float downstream and are considered to be blessed with luck from the Quagsire.

Habitat
Quagsire live in extremely clean bodies of freshwater. The presence of Quagsire in water is usually an excellent indicator that the water is very safe for consumption.
