::True; I wrote that comment months ago though - it' under a different chain of ideas than my comment above it. Still, there are a lot of similarities, and the EX Legend Maker set, which introduced Holon, was deeply influenced by Pokémon 4Ever and Jirachi: Wishmaker. Holon is considered an offical region, unlike Fiore or Almia.

What makes Holon to be considered more of an "official" region than Almia and Fiore just because its featured in the TCG? Both Ranger games actually communicate with the main-series games. I mean when has the TCG ever really been considered to be "that canon" that this statement can be made?

By the looks of things, Almia and Fiore are much more of an "official" region than Holon, and that statement just seems biased to me. Unless anyone is against it, I think that comment should be edited out.
The Pokémon Bank (Japanese: ポケモンバンク Pokémon Bank) is a downloadable online application for the Nintendo 3DS that is available for the Nintendo eShop. It serves as a complement to the Pokémon Storage System, and is compatible with Pokémon X and Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon Sun and Moon, and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

A companion application, Poké Transporter, allows the player to transfer Pokémon from other core series games to Pokémon Bank; specifically, it can connect with the Generation V core series games as well as the Virtual Console releases of the Generation I and II core series games.

Pokémon Bank is a paid service. The annual charge is ¥500 in Japan, $4.99 in the United States, $6.99 plus tax in Canada, £4.49 in the United Kingdom, €4.99 in the Eurozone, $6.50 in Australia, $8.50 in New Zealand, ₩5000 in South Korea, $150 in Greater China, and $40 in Greater China.

Usage
Pokémon storage
Pokémon Bank allows players to store up to 3000 Pokémon from the games in an online cloud. This storage is similar to the Pokémon Storage System provided by PCs and has 100 Boxes capable of carrying 30 Pokémon each. Boxes can also be assigned to one of 10 groups with customizable names. Pokémon Bank also features extensive search options and filters.

The user interface is similar to the user interface of the Pokémon Storage System in the core series games. The player can move Pokémon between the game and Pokémon Bank, or simply rearrange the Pokémon they have in them. The player cannot access the Pokémon in Pokémon Bank unless a game is connected to the system.

Poké Transporter
Poké Transporter
Poké Transporter allows the transfer of Pokémon from the Generation V core series games and the Virtual Console releases of the Generation I and II core series games to Pokémon Bank. It can be downloaded separately after Pokémon Bank has been downloaded.

The Transport Box, which is effectively the 101st Box, is reserved for use by Poké Transporter. Pokémon cannot be placed in it, except by Poké Transporter; the player can only move Pokémon out of the box, not into it.

Rewards
The player receives 100 Poké Miles when Pokémon are deposited for the first time into Pokémon Bank. Additional Poké Miles are awarded for the length of time that a given Pokémon is deposited into Pokémon Bank. The amount of Poké Miles earned by the player increases if more Pokémon are deposited into Pokémon Bank.

Accumulated Poké Miles may be transferred to the currently selected game via Pokémon Link either directly as Poké Miles or as Battle Points (at a rate of 1 Battle Point for every 10 Poké Miles). If the player chooses not to transfer their Poké Miles, they will simply continue to accumulate.

Restrictions
Pokémon that are holding any items cannot be deposited into Pokémon Bank. If the player attempts to deposit Pokémon that are holding items, the items will be removed and sent to the player's Bag. If the Bag is full, the item will disappear.

Pokémon that evolve via trading will not evolve when deposited into or withdrawn from Pokémon Bank.

Eggs, Cosplay Pikachu, Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and certain Totem-sized Pokémon introduced in (specifically Togedemaru, Araquanid, Ribombee, and Regional variant Marowak) cannot be deposited in Pokémon Bank.

Pokémon with moves that were introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire cannot be transferred to Pokémon X and Y. Likewise, Pokémon and moves introduced in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon cannot be traded to Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Any Pokémon caught in or transferred to the Generation VII games, or that was transferred from a Generation I or II game, cannot be transferred to the Generation VI games. Such Pokémon are outlined in a white square when using a Generation VI game with Pokémon Bank.

Connectivity
Any number of physical or digital copies of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon can be used in conjunction with Pokémon Bank. Pokémon Bank can be utilized at any point after the player obtains the Pokédex in those games. The service cannot be used if a new game has not been started.

The Pokémon Bank account that a Nintendo 3DS system accesses depends on the system's Nintendo Network ID, which can only belong to one Nintendo 3DS system at a time. There is no way to transfer Pokémon directly between Pokémon Banks belonging to different Nintendo Network IDs.

While the Generation VI and VII core series games are region-locked and cannot be played if their region does not match the region of the Nintendo 3DS they are inserted in, Pokémon Bank is still able to communicate with these games regardless of their region. However, Nintendo does not make any guarantee for the performance of software or systems in the Nintendo 3DS family when used outside of their intended regions.

When Pokémon Bank (along with Poké Transporter) is downloaded, any restrictions on the Nintendo 3DS system for Shopping Services need to be removed within the Parental Controls before Pokémon Bank can be utilized. Any restrictions set in place pertaining to usage of the Nintendo 3DS's Internet browser also require removal each time that the Pokémon Bank software is used.

Passes
While downloading the Pokémon Bank application is free, usage of its services requires the purchase of a pass. A pass lasts for 365 days from purchase. If a previous pass has not expired when a new pass is purchased, the number of remaining days from the old pass is added to the new pass. Pokémon Bank will prompt the player to purchase a new pass when the current pass is within 14 days of expiring.

After a pass expires, Pokémon in Pokémon Bank may or may not be preserved, and eventually will be lost entirely if a new pass is not purchased in time. If the stored Pokémon have not been lost yet, it is possible to connect to Pokémon Bank and withdraw them without purchasing a new pass.

Player reports have varied considerably as to how long Pokémon have been preserved after a pass expires. There exist reports that Pokémon have been kept for multiple years, as well as reports that Pokémon have been deleted after a few days or less. It is conjectured that sweeps are done at arbitrary times to all accounts with expired passes at the time of the sweep.

Pokédex
Introduced in the version 1.3 update, Pokémon Bank features a National Pokédex that collects and consolidates information on Pokémon that have been registered as "seen" or "caught" in the Pokédexes of any Generation VI or VII core series game updated with Pokémon Bank. Users can view basic information and Pokédex entries from the Generation VI and VII core series games of Pokémon they have registered. Pokédex entries from other languages and alternate forms of Pokémon can also be registered, with the exception of Cosplay Pikachu.

This Pokédex also includes an extensive search filter that provides, among other options, the ability to search for Pokémon by their availability in the Generation VI and VII core series games, as well as their appearances in various regional Pokédexes, including the Kanto, Johto, Good Old Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Central Kalos, Coastal Kalos, Mountain Kalos, Hoenn, and Alola Pokédexes.
Held items/Berries disappearing when Bag is "full"
The Pokémon Bank FAQ mentions that held items/Berries will be sent to your Bag when the player is depositing Pokémon into Pokémon Bank, and that items will disappear if the Bag is "full". I thought that post-Generation 3 games had unlimited Bag space, so I'm wondering is this statement referring to when you have the maximum amount of a single item (like reaching the cap of 999 Rare Candies in the Rare Candy's particular item slot)? I was trying to format the link to the category of "Pokémon that evolve through trading" so that it appears as an internal Bulbapedia link rather than an external link, but for some reason, the method in which I typed the sentence categorizes the Pokémon Bank article itself in that category rather than just "internally linking to that category within the sentence" (the latter being what I intended). :Personally, I tried to transfer alot of Pokémon from Blaze Black (after trading them to a legitimate White cartridge). The majority of them were not accepted. Like Ditto51 said, there's nothing close to a "ban" happening from such an act. If I tried to transfer a box of 30 Pokémon and only two of them could actually be moved by passing whatever check is in place, the Transporter would in turn give me a note saying "at least one of the Pokémon could not be moved", and that they will be left behind. As a result, the two that passed will be moved, and the other 28 will be left in my Box 1 from Generation 5, and no further consequence happens. As far as what the check entails, I do not know. Someone seems to have attempted to find out, but I don't know how much of those findings are correct. "Solar Dragon", are you saying pokemon legitimately-obtained, then modified/edited are considered "hacked?" If what you say is true, this may cause a big, unfair problem for everyone. Edited, seemingly-legit pokemon can be deposited into the GTS, correct? And there's no way to tell if they're modified or not (or is there?). One could get banned for something that isn't his/her fault. :DuelKING, while we are not sure quite what the Transporter uses to determine if a Pokémon is valid or not, there are two things that we can say for certain. First, the GTS seems to be more lax. Just because something fails the Transporter's test doesn't mean it won't appear on the GTS. Second, there is no ban involved. If you had read what both myself and Ditto51 wrote, we have both confirmed that if a Pokémon fails the Transporter's tests, it will stay in the Gen V game. It will not disappear, and the player will not be penalzed n any way other than that the Pokémon cannot be sent to their Gen VI game. Since the official site says it works for multiple games and since it's not registered in the player's ID, but rather the Nintendo Network ID. == Pokémon Bank Bug? ==

Okay, so I was transferring Pokémon yesterday to complete my Pokédex, and some of them are hacked because I kept missing their events (i.e. Hacking the Member Card to get Darkrai, etc.). What's odd is my Wish Maker Jirachi and my Manaphy, both I hacked to get, went through just fine. But when I tried to transfer my Shaymin and Darkrai, both I caught with the use of the Member Card and Oak's Letter, it said they couldn't get through because they were hacked. Can anyone explain why this oddity happened because I am really confused by it. Pokedex493 (talk) 04:24, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
:The hack check that the Transporter uses doesn't seem to actually check if the Pokémon was created by a hack, but more specific properties, most notably seems to be the location that they were caught. So, if a hacked Pokémon is given an original location that is legitimate for that Pokémon it has a chance of passing the check regardless of being hacked, where an Arceus with a caught location of 201 would more than likely fail. ::::It's not really a surprise if an illegitimate Pokemon passes. It would be almost impossible for the hack-check to be completely foolproof. You can't actually check if something was created by hacking, really, because most hacking tools wouldn't want to leave such an indication. You can only check for oddities.
::::As for the two you express surprise about, Darkrai and Shaymin...you say you hacked the Member's Card (I would assume you did the same for Oak's Letter). It's possible that Pokemon Bank is able to recognize that your game never acquired a Member's Card through legitimate means. Or maybe the game knew from the get-go and actually marked those Pokemon specially. ::::::If you hacked the Member Card/Oak's Letter to get them in Platinum, they should pass through fine. If you did so in DP, it is completely understandable that the game noticed. Firstly, there is a game of origin flag anyway, so Transporter could just check for that (note that that is what transfers Pokémon, not Bank, so this discussion would be more suited to that page anyway). However, more importantly, Darkrai/Shaymin caught in DP do not have the fateful encounter flag, whereas those caught in Platinum do; Transporter is probably just checking to see if they are FE, and since DP ones aren't, it is rejecting them. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 05:13, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
I did use poke-amie a bit, but not *nearly* enough to explain how a traded pokemon--which, according to Bulbapedia, should have been reset to 70 friendship--could have gotten to over 220 friendship in 11 levels.
Just for the heck of it (and if someone decided to add this into an actual section), here is a comparison of the fees relative to USD (as of December 15th, 2013):

* JP¥500 = US$4.85
* GB£4.99 = US$8.13
* EU€4,49 = US$6.17
* AU$6.50 = US$5.83
* NZ$8.50 = US$7.03
:Personally, I tried to transfer alot of Pokémon from Blaze Black (after trading them to a legitimate White cartridge).
Trading??
Does anyone know if depositing a pokemon in the bank resets its friendship, as trading does? Because I deposited a level 5 cleffa from one game and withdrew it in another, and without being in a luxury ball, holding a soothe bell, or otherwise giving it any happiness-boosting items, it evolved at level 16. I did use poke-amie a bit, but not *nearly* enough to explain how a traded pokemon--which, according to Bulbapedia, should have been reset to 70 friendship--could have gotten to over 220 friendship in 11 levels. It's only *barely* feasible if we assume that she started at 140. (Even then, I'm not sure how that happened; I'm *guessing* the poke-amie helped--maybe affection hearts increase the rate at which happiness increases? She only had two, though.)Harumei

Eggs, Cosplay Pikachu, Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, Ultra Necrozma, and certain Totem-sized Pokémon introduced in (specifically Togedemaru, Araquanid, Ribombee, and Regional variant Marowak) cannot be deposited in Pokémon Bank.

This Pokédex also includes an extensive search filter that provides, among other options, the ability to search for Pokémon by their availability in the Generation VI and VII core series games, as well as their appearances in various regional Pokédexes, including the Kanto, Johto, Good Old Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Central Kalos, Coastal Kalos, Mountain Kalos, Hoenn, and Alola Pokédexes.
game

Eggs, Cosplay Pikachu, Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, Ultra Necrozma, and certain Totem-sized Pokémon introduced in (specifically Togedemaru, Araquanid, Ribombee, and Regional variant Marowak) cannot be deposited in Pokémon Bank.
