Knock Off (Japanese: はたきおとす Knock Off) is a damage-dealing Dark move introduced in Generation III.

Effect
Generations III and IV
Knock Off inflicts damage and removes the target's held item. If Knock Off triggers an item (such as a In-battle effect item, In-battle effect item, or Colbur Berry) after the attack, that item activates before Knock Off removes it (unless it was consumed). Once the item has been removed, it cannot be used throughout the battle and switching either Pokémon out will not cause the target to regain its item. Knock Off cannot remove an item from Pokémon with the Sticky Hold Ability, or from Pokémon behind a substitute. It also cannot remove a Timespace orbs from Giratina or any item from Arceus.

After the battle, the target will regain the knocked-off item. If an Experience-affecting item or Experience-affecting item was knocked off, the target will still gain experience accordingly.

Generation V
Knock Off can now remove any item from Arceus except a Plate. Knock Off cannot remove a Drive from Genesect.

Generation VI
Knock Off's power has been increased from 20 to 65. If this move is used on a Pokémon that is holding an item that can be lost, it will deal 50% more damage. Sticky Hold does not prevent this bonus. If used on a Pokémon that cannot lose its item — such as a Pokémon holding a Mega Stone or an Orb that enables it to Mega Evolve or undergo Primal Reversion, Giratina holding a Timespace orbs, Arceus holding a Plate, or Genesect holding a Drive — this move will not receive the boost.

Knock Off will not remove a held item if the user faints due to Rough Skin, Iron Barbs, or In-battle effect item.

If the target faints in the turn that Knock Off is used against it, the item will still be shown as being removed from the target. This may be for cases where the player might revive a target in his or her party.

The club also features a new quiz game where one player can tackle as many questions as they can answer within a certain time limit. The transfer can also be done to the current Pokémon party as long as an available space exists.

Also, a Pokédex is available for viewing much like the original Pokédex, but with more detailed areas with pictures of Pokémon. * All 720 Pokémon that were officially revealed at the time are present in the game.
* Accessories are now visible on both the player and partner in the overworld and in dungeons.
* As the first entry in the series released during Generation VI, it introduces Mega Evolution and the Fairy type to the series.
* Wands, items that can be used multiple times, are introduced.
* The Connection Orb<!--つながりオーブ--> replaces the bulletin boards as the interface for taking jobs. By completing jobs, clients become friends and connections to more Pokémon appear.
Plot
spoilers
As in previous games, the player is a human who has been transformed into a Pokémon child, and has appeared in a Pokémon world. The player is unable to remember how they became a Pokémon.

In this world, they meet their partner who lives in Serene Village,<!--おだやか村--> a settlement which is on the (Japanese: 水の大陸 Water Continent). As the player is a Pokémon child, the player is taken in by a Nuzleaf, who takes a parental role to the player. The player also attends the (Japanese: おだやか村の学校 Serene Village School).

The Expedition Society<!--ポケモン調査団--> is a group that has many goals: to make a world map, to help Pokémon in trouble, and to understand the mysteries of the world. However, children are not allowed to join. They are based in Lively Town<!--ワイワイタウン--> on the Water Continent. Lively Town is home to many shops, like Post Town or Treasure Town in previous games.

This world has been affected by incidents where some Pokémon, including Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, have been turned to stone. Later on in the story, it is revealed that the Dark Matter is behind it all, as it attempts to drain all the energy from the Life Tree and then destroy the entire planet by moving it right into the sun.
Characters
Playable characters
The player may play as one of 20 Pokémon. The partner is also chosen from these 20 Pokémon. The player may, as in the prior Nintendo DS titles, choose the player and partner Pokémon using a quiz, or as in the WiiWare titles and Gates to Infinity, choose a Pokémon themselves.
It was released in Japan on September 17, 2015, and is scheduled to be released in North America on November 20, 2015, and in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand in early 2016.

Plot
