The question is... what Pokémon could be weak to both of its own types? It doesn't seem like any of them could be. I mean, technically, {{p|Sableye}} and {{p|Spiritomb}} are weak to both {{t|Dark}} and {{t|Ghost}} on their Ghost-type, but their Dark-type covers both. So yeah, you're right. Platinum in Japanese can be プラティナム ''puratinamu'', or more commonly, プラチナ ''purachina'' (keep in mind ''chi'' and ''ti'' are essentially interchangeable, at least prounounciation/romanization wise). Now, both words contain ''ratina'', just like ギラティナ ''Giratina''. Pu'''ratina'''mu/Pu'''ratina''', Gi'''ratina'''... Makes sense to me, anyway. Maybe even more than ''girasol''. Either way, though, Platinum is just a rumor for now. :My guess is because two common words like "Another" and "Form" are difficult to trademark together. It's why Hasbro released a toy called "Battle Ravage," because it was too hard to get a trademark on just {{wp|Ravage (Transformers)|Ravage}}, since it's such a common word. The bulbanews article mentioned that "Land form" and "Sky form" (or, as it now almost surely is, "Land Forme" and "Sky Forme") were trademarked without any Pokémon name, which is why we have to guess as to who it is. Origin and Another Formes were similarly free-floating trademarks, without "Giratina" anywhere in the title.

My User page. Yeah. >_>. Anyways, about me. I'm a creative thinker. If only my thoughts were ever listened to... As an example, my Giratina theory, which was proved false when Platinum came out. Basicly, it goes like this: Giratina has red things on it's "Wings". In the origin form, the red things are on the end of the black tentacly things. Also, the name of the beast is named Giratina. The tina part is most commonly belived to be a reference to platina, which is platinum in some language. But the Gira part, that's the focus of the theory. If you remove the I and mix around the letters you get '''gar'''. There is a gem called Garnet. '''Gar'''net. Garnet just so happens to be a ''red'' gem. Red. Just like the things on giratina's "wings". Basically what I'm trying to say is that Platinum '''''should''''' have been called Pokemon Garnet. But anyways, that could still explain that part of the name. Maybe if anybody reading this thinks it's believeable enough, I would like their opinion before I updated Giratina's page.

Well. Some people have misinterpreted what I mean to say. I am saying this on my User page because I'm not going to put it on Giratina's actual page. Yes, this is merely speculation. But do we really have total certainties on the name meaning on Giratina? Or what it's "Origin" might be? On the page itself, it says a lot of mays. That doesn't sound absolute certain. They are all "speculations". What makes mine an automatic "That theory of yours will never be on Giratina's page"? "We here at Bulbapedia pride ourselves on factual information." Where are the facts in "mays"? Where? If someone knows, please tell me!
