Iris's Axew (Japanese: アイリスのキバゴ Iris's Kibago) is the first Pokémon that Iris was known to have. He debuted alongside his Trainer in In The Shadow of Zekrom!.

History
Axew was the first Pokémon that Iris was known to have obtained. She obtained Axew from the Elder of her hometown when he was just a few days old. She was given the task of journeying with Axew in order to help raise him into a great Haxorus.

Axew was the first Pokémon that Ash scanned with his new Pokédex in Enter Iris and Axew!, though he was actually aiming it at Iris's hair and wondering why Axew looked nothing like what the Pokédex showed.

Like Pikachu and Dawn's Piplup, Axew appears to prefer being outside of his Poké Ball (if Axew even has a Poké Ball), but unlike them, he likes to travel inside Iris's long hair, while Pikachu and Piplup usually go on their Trainer's shoulder.

In Triple Leaders, Team Threats!, Cilan told Iris and Axew that they have perfect compatibility. He also added that Axew is a rather rare Pokémon. In Dreams by the Yard Full! it was revealed through the Dream Mist that Axew wants to evolve to his Haxorus, unlike most of the other walking Pokémon in the anime.

In The Bloom Is on Axew!, it was shown that Axew has not had much experience in battling, crying when he was hit by weakened Bullet Seed and SolarBeam attacks from Cilan's Pansage; however, he was shown to be able to produce an extremely powerful Dragon Rage that could cause massive destruction, but was uncontrollable and had a tendency to explode in all directions rather than beam at a specific target as it is meant to. Both Ash and Cilan playfully referred to it as a "Dragon Sneeze", much to Iris's annoyance. A pun exists where, as Axew says his name while using "Dragon Sneeze", it sounds rather like "achoo". Later in the episode, Axew was trapped in the horns of a wild Scolipede, and Iris and the others had to rescue him using their Pokémon.

In Scraggy-Hatched to be Wild!, Axew seemed excited about Ash's Pokémon Egg being ready to hatch; so much so that he accidentally sent it rolling down a hill. After it hatched into Scraggy, Axew became afraid of him after seeing how aggressive he was with the other Pokémon. Even so, he kept his eye on Scraggy and was the first to notice that it ran off in the middle of the night. Axew assisted Iris in finding a plant that would help Scraggy recover after it was Paralysis by a wild Galvantula. The next day when Scraggy felt better, Axew battled it. Both Pokémon ended up knocking each other out thanks to another failed Dragon Rage. The two have another battle in Dancing With the Ducklett Trio!, however it was stopped after Axew attempts, again, to use Dragon Rage.

In The Dragon Master's Path!, when fighting Team Rocket alongside Pikachu and Emmy's Druddigon, Axew finally mastered Dragon Rage, sending out a stream of energy instead of exploding right on the spot, defeating Team Rocket. Later, in Cottonee in Love!, Axew had another battle with Ash's Scraggy, but this time he won thanks to his mastered Dragon Rage.

In Iris and Excadrill Against the Dragon Buster!, Axew battled Georgia's Beartic briefly, but was defeated after a collision of Ice Beam and Dragon Rage.

In Movie Time! "Zorua in the Pokémon Knight!", Axew played the role of the Iris's strongest Pokémon. She used Axew against Ash's Pikachu in order to bring out its inner strength. However, Pikachu defeated Axew with a powerful Thunderbolt/Electro Ball combination.

Iris used Axew in the semi-final round of the Club Battle in Club Battle Finale: A Hero's Outcome! against Luke. Axew struggled at first against Luke's Golett, but managed to win the battle after learning Outrage, allowing Iris to move on to the final round.

In Battle For The Underground!, Axew was used to propel the train cart Ash and friends were riding on to get away from Team Rocket; along with Tepig using Ember, which soon became Flamethrower, and Roggenrola using Flash Cannon.

He battled with Scraggy once more in Scraggy and the Demanding Gothita!; however, seeing as Scraggy had learned Hi Jump Kick, they proved evenly matched. After the battle, he and Scraggy went off to play, untill they ran into a Gothita that took a liking to Scraggy. Gothita's Trainer challenged Ash to a battle on the condition that if she won, he'd have to trade Scraggy away to her. Ash won the battle, but Axew still had a nightmare the following night about losing his best friend. He then awoke to find that Scraggy and Gothita had left. He pursued them and attempted to get Scraggy away from Gothita by hitting it with Dragon Rage. However she ended up disturbing a wild Garbodor who attacked them, untill Snivy showed up to protect them and Katharine, Gothita's Trainer, used her Deerling to calm the Trash Heap Pokémon. The next day, Axew was happy to see Gothita storm away after Snivy defeated her in battle.

In Stopping the Rage of Legends! Part 1, Axew became friends with a Gothorita owned by Lewis, who expressed great interest in him. Axew admired Gothorita as she prayed at Landorus's shrine for it to rain on Milos Island, and later when Gothorita saved him and Iris from falling onto some sharp rocks. Later, Axew was able to hit Thundurus with Dragon Rage and would have been hit by its Thunder if Cilan's Stunfisk had not blocked the attack with Mud Bomb. Understanding the dire situation, Axew encouraged Gothorita when it was asked by Lewis to plead with Tornadus and Thundurus. In Stopping the Rage of Legends! Part 2, Axew helped rescue the kami trio from TRT; he used Dragon Rage on Dr. Zager's helicopter, joined by Ash's Pikachu, Ash's Roggenrola, Iris's Emolga and Cilan's Pansage to cause the forcefield prisons trapping the trio to break.

Personality and characteristics
Axew appears to be a friendly Pokémon, making quick friends with Ash's Pikachu in Enter Iris and Axew! and with other Pokémon. He and Iris are shown to have a strong relationship such as in A Sandile Gusher of Change! where a Sandile had caught him in its jaws, Iris tried everything to get him out.
Though lacking superior battle skills, Axew makes up for it with a kind personality as mentioned by Cilan. If Iris feels sad, he will go off to collect fruit in order to cheer her up. Axew is also somewhat of a pacifist and often hides or panics when the other Pokémon who accompany him start to fight each other as seen Emolga and the New Volt Switch!, when he was seen running around in circles when Oshawott, Tepig, Scraggy and Swadloon started fighting over food. Though he has been shown to have some childish traits, such as in Saving Darmanitan From the Bell!, where he fought with Pikachu when he thought Pikachu was the one who ate all the food.

Axew will often express concern for other Pokémon. In Emolga the Irresistible!, he was grateful when an Iris stopped his apple from rolling down a hill and wanted to share some of it with her. When she left after being smothered by Bianca, he was desperate to find her again. However, this could be because Axew has a little crush on Emolga, as confirmed by Iris in the same episode.

Axew also seems to see Scraggy like a little brother, since Scraggy-Hatched to be Wild! when Iris told him he was Scraggy's big brother. Since then, Axew always had kept a close eye on Scraggy to keep him out of trouble, and the two have become training partners, and best friends, most likely due to the fact that they're the youngest. In Scraggy and the Demanding Gothita! he was horrified that he might never see him again if Scraggy was given to Katharine, even having a nightmare about it.
Like its anime counterpart, this Axew knows Scratch and Dragon Rage and is male. It also, interestingly, always has Mold Breaker as its Ability. This event started on December 17th, 2010, and ended on January 11, 2011. This Egg was also distributed at participating American Toys 'R' Us locations from April 27 to May 31, 2011.

Iris used Axew in the semi-final round of the Club Battle in Club Battle Finale: A Hero's Outcome! against Luke. Axew struggled at first against Luke's Golett, but managed to win the battle after learning Outrage, allowing Iris to move on to the final round.

It may be somewhat close to the Sinnoh region, since it was stated in-game that Sinnoh was the closest region to send the Manaphy Egg during the Manaphy event.

Geography
Fiore is a location with mountainous terrain and four cities located in the cardinal directions of the map. Each city represents a season: Ringtown for spring, Fall City for fall or autumn, Summerland for summer, and Wintown for winter.
Routes
Fiore does not have traditional routes.

League
The relationship between humans and Pokémon is substantially different in Fiore than it is in the regions of the main games. In Fiore, there are no trainers that capture and battle. The people that have the most interaction with Pokémon are the Pokémon Rangers. Since the rangers enforce a strict rule of releasing Pokémon after using their help, Fiore does not host a form of Pokémon competition in the vein of the other regions' Pokémon League. However, they do have capture challenges that are open for Rangers to hone their skills.

Culture
Poké Balls are not sold or used in the Fiore Region. People who own Pokémon are encouraged to keep them by their side, outside of Poké Balls at all times, much like Ash's Pikachu.

Trivia
* While all the Eeveelutions prior to Generation IV can be found in Fiore, Eevee itself cannot be seen.
* Wintown is the only city or town without a Capture Challenge nearby.
* Fiore is also a place in the anime Fairy Tail
We don't really know if it is Gen V, but the fact that it uses forms of a Gen V Pokemon as its mascot make if all but confirmed. The way it looks, at least for now, is that they decided to ditch the 3rd game idea for this Gen and instead do two full sequels to BW. If they say these are a new gen or we see completely new Pokemon then we can start talking about this being Gen VI, but as it stands I think we should just leave it be.ArchedThunder 16:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
:From sources, Kyurem has two new forms, each resemblin to Zekrom and/or Reshiram. So it would still be within the Tao trio. But 3 types is OP, and awkward considering the type advantages/disadvantages. I would say Kyurem would be Ice/Dragon but retaining the power of it's other form. Because of the different seasons in the Northern and Southern hemisphere, and because a lot of Bulbapedia's users come from the Northern Hemisphere, could we add a tooltip to make it Spring 2012. I think we should remove the part saying that part of Unova is covered in ice, because that is just speculation from the art, we have no proof that this is confirmed. Stuff such as S. == Forest Minccino ==

At about 1:01 in the trailer, the player approaches what seems to be a Minccino in a forest. I don't have Black or White, so I don't know if this is like Peeko or not. Can somebody help me with this? プリングルズ/品客薯片/ప్రింగిల్స్ 20:09, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
:That event wasn't in the first BW at all, so we have no idea if it's like Peeko or what. Yamiidenryuu 14:18, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Allegedly, this is the cover of next month's CoroCoro:
:We are aware of that scan but it can easily be fake and it has been done a lot of times in the past as well. Besides, there is still some time in the actual CoroCoro scans to arrive. That is why the optimum choice would be to wait. Also, please do not link to other fansites since they are "not" completely reliable. Thank you, have a nice day ahead. <span style="color:#009900">♫♪</span> <span style="color:#A80000;">エイデ</span><span style="color:#003399;">ィニズ</span> <span style="color:#009900">♪♫</span> 06:21, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

On Amazon it says that the release date is December 31, 2012... Should someone add it? Or is it fake? プリングルズ/品客薯片/ప్రింగిల్స్ 00:28, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
:I'm thinking that is most likely a place holder date so they can accept pre-orders and such.
