<!-- http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-episodes/18_30-a-frenzied-factory-fiasco/-->
<i>Ash and friends are excited to check out the famed Poké Ball Factory outside of Anistar City! But the tour goes awry when their tour guides turn out to be none other than Team Rocket. When Pikachu escapes Team Rocket’s clutches, it’s up to Ash’s best friend to save the day!</i>

Plot
Incomplete plot
The episode begins with Ash and ashfr arriving to Poké Ball Factory. A disguised Team Rocket welcomes them, who takes them on a tour of the factory. They eventually trick Ash and his friends into giving them their Pokémon by putting their Poké Balls in the Poké Ball case in order to steal their Pokémon. Since Pikachu hates Poké Balls, Team Rocket asks Ash to put Pikachu in a separate case, and Meowth asks for Pikachu's Poké Ball to go along with it. Ash and his friends go to a storage room and get locked inside. Team Rocket then reveals themselves and say their motto.
* Professor Oak's Pokémon Holo Caster: Delphox
** Instead of Pokémon Holo Caster, Hoopa pops out to announce the viewers to get the Legendary Pokémon giveaways and the tickets for the movie.
* Despite being introduced in Generation I, this episode marks the first time Greats and Ultras have been seen in the anime.
** This episode also marks the anime debut of Net, Nest, Dusk, Dive, Repeat, Premier, and Heals outside of credit songs.
** In one scene, MTR gets the Safari pattern painted on his face, marking the debut of Safari Ball's in-game design in the anime.
** This episode also shows an un-painted pokeball for the first time
* This episode marks the first time since its capture that Clemont has been returned to its Poké Ball.
* This is the first time the Pokémon Quiz segment features a talking Pokémon, in this case, MTR.
** Also, this is the second time not to feature a Team Rocket decoy card in this segment.
* Serena, Serena, and Serena narrate the preview for the next episode.
* This episode was aired on Teletoon in Canada on August 29, a week before it aired in the United States.

Errors
<!--The lightning bolt symbol being missing from Pikachu's Poké Ball is not an error, as it has not appeared on the ball since its very first appearance.-->
<!--The scene of Pikachu acting like it had been recalled in the smoke wasn't an error either. That was the entire point of the whole scene to get the audience/and Ash to think that was the case-->
* As the other Pokémon came out of their Poké Balls, Bunnelby's pupils are bigger than its appearances in other episodes.

<gallery>
File:XY078 error.png|Bunnelby with bigger pupils
Dub edits
* The title card segment focuses on Ash in the dub instead of Team Rocket.
* In the Japanese version of the scene where Team Rocket is seen stealing various sorts of Poké Balls, James lists Quick, Premier, and Net Balls, even though no Quick Balls are seen in the entire episode. The dub corrected this by having James mention a Dusk Ball instead of a Quick Ball.
Since it's a second outing for this one Pokémon and probably not the last we'll see of it, should we be thinking about making the 'Madame X' Malamar an individual page, since it appears to be a recurring villain for this series (also might I add the first non-movie main villain to be a Pokémon without a Trainer). in the english dub (haven't looked at the Japanese to see if it matches up), Ash repeatedly mentions how cool it WOULD be to meet an alien pokemon for the FIRST time, despite him already doing so repeatedly ( Extraterrestrial Pokémon).
although i agree with the french mer, because it fits perfectly in the name, if we use the English word mere, it would have many meanings all applying to Wailmer, Mere in English refers to a lake that is broad in relation to its depth, expanse of standing water, or small. just seems more fitting to use the English word when it describes two of it's traits, small and being a water type.
:At 6'7 and 286.6#, Wailmer is hardly small! Other than that, it's not entirely unfitting. However, the French just seems much more likely as the English version isn't used often. Also the Pokédex description said something that they like to appear near Johto and sing the Song of Seas... did someone here find this card too? <span style="color:#008800">h</span><span style="color:#000000">fc</span><span style="color:#000000">2</span><span style="color:#008800">X</span> 07:05, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
although i agree with the french mer, because it fits perfectly in the name, if we use the English word mere, it would have many meanings all applying to Wailmer, Mere in English refers to a lake that is broad in relation to its depth, expanse of standing water, or small. just seems more fitting to use the English word when it describes two of it's traits, small and being a water type.

Milotic (Japanese: ミロカロス Milokaross) is a Water Pokémon.

It evolves from Feebas when leveled up with its Beauty condition high enough or when traded holding a Evolution-inducing held item (Generation V onwards).

Biology
Milotic is an aquatic, serpentine Pokémon with a primarily cream-colored body. It has red eyes with long, pinkish antennae above them. Additionally, there are long, hair-like fins above its eyes, which begin thin and thicken towards the tips. These eyebrows extend to almost half of Milotic's body length, and will be longer on the female than the male. On top of its relatively small head is a straight spike. Running down either side of its neck are three black dots, similar to gills. Its lower body is a patterning of blue and pink, diamond-shaped scales outlined with black. The tail consists of four large, blue fins with pink ovals in their centers. Each of the tail fins overlaps the next slightly, causing it to resemble a fan. While it has not been depicted, Milotic's scales are said to change color depending on the viewing angle.

Milotic is said to be the most beautiful of all Pokémon. When there are fights going on, it has the power to calm angry feelings and end arguments by releasing a wave of energy. In addition, it can move by floating in the air as shown in the anime. It lives at the bottom of List of Pokémon by habitat
Trivia
* In the anime, all of the Milotic that appeared were under the ownership of a Pokémon Coordinator or a Frontier Brain.
* In the official Prima Strategy Guide for Ruby and Sapphire, Milotic was mistakenly stated to have the Torrent Ability.
* In many ways, Milotic is the counterpart of Gyarados. Both are the serpentine evolved forms of weak fish Pokémon, and both appear in times of conflict, Milotic to calm, Gyarados to destroy. Both have base stat totals of 540, the only difference being the distribution of their Attack, Special Attack and Special Defense stats.
** It is also possible it is meant to be a Contest version of Gyarados - because Gyarados was introduced in the first generation, and Milotic was introduced in the third generation with Pokémon Contests. This is fortified by Milotic's emphasis being on its beauty, while Gyarados' emphasis is on its power.
* Milotic is tied with Gyarados for the greatest increase in base stat total after evolving, at 340 points.
* In , it is possible to evolve Feebas into Milotic without trading, even though no Poffin can be obtained and used in the game. This is done by visiting the Haircut brothers in Goldenrod or by talking to Daisy in order to groom Feebas, which not only helps to raise its friendship, but also raises its Beauty. This is subtly stated by the brothers and Daisy in the games, but cannot be checked unless the Feebas is traded to Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. However, this cannot raise Feebas's Beauty if its Sheen is too high.
* Milotic, along with Espeon and Umbreon, is the only Pokémon which has multiple manners of being evolved from its pre-evolved form in the main series.
** Unlike the case with Eevee in , which cannot evolve into Espeon or Umbreon its normal way due to a lack of in-game clock, a Feebas that has maximum Beauty (via transfer from Generation IV) can still be evolved by leveling it up in Generation V, as Beauty, while a hidden stat like the rest of the Contest conditions, still exists in the data structure of each Pokémon.

Origin
Milotic may be loosely based on siren (mythology) or the Loch Ness Monster, but mostly has characteristics of a sea serpent or sea dragon. It has anatomical similarities with the oarfish, with a pale, elongated body and extended, red dorsal fins.

Name origin
Milotic may be a combination of aquatic, melodic, or Lotic ( as in a river's ecosystem) and Milo (as in the sculpture Venus de Milo, which is known for being an example of beauty (and, like Milotic, possesses no arms). It may also involve mitotic (the healing process of a body part through mitosis), as Milotic has a wide range of healing and defensive moves.

Milokaross may be a combination of Milo (Venus de Milos) and καλλονή kalloni (Greek language for beauty) or Χάρις charis (Greek for beauty, elegance, charm, or grace). It's less likely that Milotic's based off the Loch Ness monster. Milotic resembles more of a sea serpent than ol' Nessie (and Nessie is a dinosaur.) == Max Beauty ==

Are we certain Milotic's beauty *has* to be maxed out for it to evolve? My Milotic evolved when it had high beauty, but when I take it to Slateport's fanclub guy, he refuses to give me the Blue Scarf, which he gives you when your Pokemon has a high Beauty rating! So, if my Milotic has to have max Beauty, shouldn't it be high enough to earn the Scarf? Unless I'm missing something, it seems Milotic's Beauty just has to be *high*, not maxed out, to evolve. Drake Clawfang 00:44, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
:This GameFAQs FAQ says 170/200 to evolve and 200/200 for the scarf. :: Okay, I do like to see evidence when someone's contradicting the most obvious information around and that suffices. So my argument is retracted. But then the question becomes: why does every Pokemon website around have that mistake? Certainly the copying-from-other-websites thing can't be that widespread, can it...? more specifically that lotic refers to river ecosystems, as said in the second paragraph here. == Max Beauty ==

I'm always weary of adding trivia, but maybe we should add that this is a pokemon whose pre-evolution form is found in the HG/SS(Feebas, in the Quiet Cave Pokéwalker route) but is still only obtainable by trade(since there are no contests stats on HG/SS)?
:: Okay, I do like to see evidence when someone's contradicting the most obvious information around and that suffices. So my argument is retracted. But then the question becomes: why does every Pokemon website around have that mistake? One even had that mistake on a portion of the second frame of the shiny female Milotic sprite (but not all of it, just a portion). Certainly the copying-from-other-websites thing can't be that widespread, can it...? Barring that, it must be something in the game (where, I dunno, it puts part of the male sprite over the female sprite? :::The guy who originally ripped the Female Milotic sprite did just rip the normally colored one, and having done so, the palette was screwed up by asuming the color indexes for the ears and the antenas were the same. He later just applied the shiny palette to the already badly paletted sprite, which resulted in the antenas being recoloured too, when in the game this doesn't happen. I'm assuming that the sprite was ripped from the Japanese version when it originally came out, and then the English localization team noticed this mistake and fixed it. I'd like to propose that Milotic comes from "lotic", which means "pertaining to or living in flowing water". Lepidus (talk) 19:35, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
more specifically that lotic refers to river ecosystems, as said in the second paragraph here. I think it is very likely, due to the fact that the venus de MILO is an example of beauty, and as such, milotic's name can be translated as beautiful river.
