Shedinja
Why do we need a disclaimer? What I said was true. Nincada doesn't evolve into Shedinja, at all. Shedinja is basically the dead skin that falls off of Nincada after evolving into Ninjask. "...if Shedinja's appearance in the party counts as an evolution" It doesn't! There is no "if". The Nincada you had is now a Ninjask! With Snorunt it actually morphs into Froslass. Nincada goes from Bug/Ground to Bug/Flying, not Bug/Ghost so therfore it did not turn into a Ghost-type. Shedinja is a completely different Pokémon.

If you want to mention Shedinja fine but state it differently than the way you did. "Froslass and Shedinja are the only two Ghost-types that evolve from a Pokémon that wasn't a Ghost-type" is an untrue statement. For the record, my friend who is visiting me right now also agrees with me. --☆ケンジ'ガール 03:09, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
:Remember the TCG, it considers Shedinja an evolution playable on top of Nincada, but allows it to be played as basic when Nincada evolves into Ninjask. While true, Shedinja doesn't evolve from Nincada directly, it can be bred to create one with Ditto. And it's either we consider it an evolution or it's some separate piece of crap like Phione. TTEchidna 03:13, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
::While the Nincada doesn't TURN INTO Shedinja, the Shedinja was part of Nincada the whole time. When Nincada evolves, the Shedinja has to separate from Nincada, forever, at least in the wild, or if it's owned by a trainer that doesn't want it, but Shedinja, having a Pokemon's DNA and thus, having that Poke-energy thing that I guess allows them to go into Pokeballs and stuff, can be used in battle. See, Shedinja's not this dead by-product of Ninjask. (Well, it is, sorta, but that's not the point.) Since Shedinja gets Nincada's movepool, it could be said that Nincada splits into two different Pokemon. It's just that Ninjask gets the brain and the heart and stuff. Its HG/SS dex entry is wrong in this article; in the games themselves, the period at the end is actually missing. It's probably a typo, but the entry on this page is still incorrect. :Uh, so I just went to change it since no one objected, but then I checked Serebii just to be sure. On Froslass's page on Serebii, there is a period on the end of its HeartGold dex entry, but not on the end of its SoulSilver dex entry. :::I have no idea why Nintendo would consider dropping a Legendary Pokémon THAT low... there should be some logical reason. Maybe Nintendo just thinks that it's difficult enough to transfer all 3 Regis forward, THEN battle a level 70, but then again they added caves for the Regis all over Sinnoh as well. I'm not sure if putting the Regis into Sinnoh helps the legend over Regigigas or makes it less plausible...
::::Even being Level 1, Regigigas is still hard to catch(It keeps it's catch rate of 3). Level literally does not affect you catching it(Besides the Nest ball calculation). Also, Nest Balls only have a max Pokeball value of 3 so the Dusk Balls, Quick Balls(First 5 turns), and Timer Balls(After 30 turns) are still better(All having a value of 4)...
::::Also, I think they made it Level 1 as a joke, somewhat of a reference to the fact they put in the other Regis which can only be fought using a Level 100 event Regigigas(Which they probably assumed everyone would have, also thinking you wouldn't want to catch it in the wild because of it). It is also interesting that him being Level 1 not only makes him the lowest leveled Legendary, but ALSO the lowest leveled wild Pokemon ever(All starting route wild Pokemon are level 2 or above, never level 1...)Joe T.E. 21:28, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
moss
In on of Regigigas's pokédex entries it's stated that it made statues (the legendary golems). But maybe it's moss is a hint from Regigigas's designers to represent it's not a statue (like the player character thinks) but it's organic. Are there any more theories to prove this? Nickvang 17:21, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
:It's just as likely to be evidence that it is a statue. Moss will grow in dark places after a period of time, and it probably just indicates that Regigigas has been sleeping for a long time. It is a golem, after all. - Blazios talk 17:28, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
But Regigigas is never referred to be one of the legendary golems (it is the trio leader, I know) and he's the only one to be proven to have emotions (and even a way to show them). After all he's the creator of the others, so who did create him if he isn't organic? Nickvang 17:46, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
:The moss is simply indicating that it has been asleep for a very long time. Moss will grow on nearly any rock, tree, etc. that is still for a long enough time. Thus it is not an indication of whether it is organic or not. Please take any further speculation on the matter to the forums. Werdnae (talk) 17:52, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
In Regigigas' Abilities section of his page, it states that its extremely high attack stat, combined with its colossal strength, enables it to move continents. It's entirely possible and heck, even more likely that the mothers simply pass their old skulls down to their children as Marowak don't wear them any longer. The alternative would be Cubone being sad for it's mother, but then deciding to cut her head open and steal her skull to parade around as a fancy hat. Ok, we know it wears the skull of it's dead mother, but which skull does it wear. Does it remove the helmet it's mother is wearing, or does it wear the skull right out of its mother's head?

If it wares the skull helmet of its dead mother, then if its mother is a Marowak someone (in the Pokémon word)surly must have seen a Cubone wearing a Marowak helmet unless they evolve straight to a Marowak.

If it wears the skull out of its dead mother's head, then the inner skull of a Cubone and/or Marowak must be shaped like the Skull helmet of a Cubone. That mean that even if the Cubone evolves, the helmet has only changed in the evolution and the skull in its head is still the shape of a Cubone Helmet.
::Since Marowak is the Bone Keeper pokemon, I'd guess it probably holds onto the skull it wore as a Cubone somehow which gets passed down like an heirloom from mother to child or something. == Elephant ==

Could one of its origins be the elephant? Elephants are large and formidable creatures and therefore are hard to take down, like a Cubone and Marowak due to their high defense stat. They are also one of the most powerful creatures alive today similar to how Marowak currently has the highest attack capability. The biggest similarity between Cubone's family and elephants are their reactions to death. It has been shown that elephants are vary sensitive to the death of their family or even others of their own species and have some kind of feeling to bones of dead elephants. In one particular examination of elephants a matriarch of a family of African elephants died devastating them all, but most surprising of all her calf began to weep and scream at the dead mammal as a Cubone is said to do in numerous pokedex entries. Also in the crystal pokedex entry for Marowak it references a mass Marowak graveyard hidden in the world a reference to the modern myth of the elephants graveyard.

I got a lot of hunches on this pokemon being artificially created by Team Plasma. There are some reasons why: First, both are being developed as the most strongest pokemon created by science. Second, they originated from the remains of a extinct pokemon (Mewtwo originated from a fossilized hair of Mew and Genesect originated from a bug-like fossil). The evobox should be a big circle with arrows going between all possible combinations. --Snorlax'Monster 01:38, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
:::::: Might be easier to not use any arrows at all. Two-way arrows or simple lines could seem messy if we can instead figure out a placement that doesn't lend itself to strict ordering. How about 3 above and 2 below, or 2 above and 3 below? Or 2, 2, 1, with no Cassette as the odd one out? Or if that circle is really on the table, just place them in it unconnected. But other than that, I definitely see the merit in toticombinatory arrows. PLA 17:29, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Genesect does not have an official pronunciation as of yet; it could be jenna-sect for all we know. :::It should be noted that Japan does not have a romanised word for Genocide starting with ゲノ. Genocide is romanized as ジェノサイド (JEnosaido.) ...you know we take Pokémon names from English? I've never saw or heard a name in Polish version of Pokémon that isn't the same as in English (except pronouncation, of course). Of course, I could miss something. Marked +-+-+ 17:02, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
:Mind if I ask your point? Genesect's Polish name is already on the page. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 17:06, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
::Yes, it is. But why it is there if it's the same as English? Our games are in English, and we don't have our Pokémon names like Japan, [english-speaking countries], France or Spain... of course there could be exceptions, but as far as I saw, animé uses the same names, with most likely only pronunciation changed. ::::I guess I'm just a tad confused. So you don't have your own separate games in Polish, you just import the English versions? ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 16:27, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
:::::As far as I know, yes, we don't have separate games. This is why not many moves have Polish translation, as I get it from animé, while someone got few things like Drought from a book (guidebook I'll guess). Games themselves aren't officially translated (or I don't know anything about such games). I am not sure how we get them, though. Try talking to OldBen, as far as I know, he has such books (as he was the one to add Polish names for Drought, Drizzle and few other stuff). ==Genesect a reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion?==

I think Genesect may be an homage to Neon Genesis Evangelion. The colour of him and his shiny sprite look very similar to the Unit-01 and Unit-02 respectively. Even down to the secondary colours used on the eyes. The stripe on the abdomen looks like the stripe on the Evas midsections. The origin story of Genesect is also very similar. The Eva units were created from a humanoid alien and modified to be piloted. The eva units are actually biological creatures with armour and a cockpit attached. Genesect's head looks similar to the mass produced eva units long heads. (Not pictured.) The choice of colours seems pretty deliberate.

I don't know if this is just a translation error, but the site translated this into English:
"Pokemon Genosekuto of this newly found vision, " Pokemon Black 2 White 2 in the normal play of "can not be put in hand, special Pokemon.
Genosekuto is, would you Pokemon was born by Dan plasma to restore the fossils 300 million years ago, to remodeling!"
So does that mean Genesect can't be put into the party, or is it just misread? It's probs a mistake, since it'd be pointless not to be able to use it.-- Pringles 00:29, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
It really doesn't work considering that Genesect is part bug, an attribute Kabutops doesn't have, and that their body shapes are different for example their torsos while Genesect has a typical insect body, segmented, Kaputops have 1 section to their torso. for this to have happened Plasma would have to remove a section of Kaputobs and inflame the pelvis to reach the specified shape which i am positive wouldn't really serve a purpose to the pokemon. Plus shouldnt he theoretically have a gender and ability to breed with other Kabutops or pokémon in the same egg group? --Toymoo (talk) 18:23, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
