Flip Turn (Japanese: クイックターン Quick Turn) is a damage-dealing Water move introduced during Generation VIII, in The Isle of Armor. It is TM196 in Scarlet and Violet and TM008 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Effect
Flip Turn deals damage and then switches the user out.

The user will not be switched out if the user is the only Pokémon in the party that is able to battle, if Flip Turn fails to hit the target, if Flip Turn triggers an opponent's Wimp Out or Emergency Exit, or if using Flip Turn ends the battle. Flip Turn will not switch the user out if the user is holding a Red Card or the target is holding an Eject Button.

If the player's Pokémon knocks out an opposing Trainer's Pokémon by using Flip Turn, the replacement that the player sends out will not be considered to have battled for experience purposes, but if it holds an Amulet Coin or Luck Incense that item will be taken into account when calculating prize money. In switch-style battles, the player will still have the ability to switch Pokémon between opponent's Pokémon fainting.

Flip Turn switches the user out even if it is under the effect of Ingrain, Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, Shadow Tag, Mean Look, or Block.

* A flip turn, also known as a tumble turn, is a turn technique in swimming that is performed during freestyle and backstroke races. Athletes use the flip turn to quickly and smoothly turn around in the water to change direction.
* Flip Turn's French name is a pun on eau (water) and au revoir (goodbye).
* This move originated as a PTCG attack.

Effect
In battle
Generation III
When a Pokémon with Water Absorb is hit by a damaging Water move, its HP is restored by one quarter of its maximum HP, and the move will have no effect on that Pokémon (if a Pokémon with this Ability already has full HP, the Water-type move will do nothing).

Water Absorb will not activate if the Pokémon is Protection moves from the Water-type move.

Generation IV onward
Water Absorb will now also activate when a Pokémon with it is hit by a Water-type status move (although none targeted an opponent until Soak was introduced in Generation V).

Multistrike moves, such as Water Shuriken, will only activate the Ability once.

If a Pokémon with Water Absorb is holding an Absorb Bulb or Luminous Moss, Water Absorb absorbs the move, so the item's effect is not triggered.

Outside of battle
Water Absorb has no effect outside of battle.
In battle
{{AbilityResearch|Check for other moves/Abilities that can or cannot copy/replace/suppress this Ability. Hadron Engine creates the effect of the move Electric Terrain on the battlefield as soon as a Pokémon with Hadron Engine enters the battle. The Electric Terrain lasts for five turns. This can be extended to eight turns if the Pokémon is holding a Terrain Extender.

Hadron Engine also boosts the Pokémon's Special Attack stat by roughly 33% (or more precisely, by a factor of 5461/4096) on Electric Terrain. This boost will occur even if the Pokémon is not grounded.

Hadron Engine displays a message when the Pokémon enters the battle, even if there already is an Electric Terrain. However, if Electric Terrain is summoned while a Pokémon with Hadron Engine already is in battle, no message is displayed (contrary to Quark Drive).

Skill Swap fails if either Pokémon has Hadron Engine. Trace can copy Hadron Engine.

Wide Guard protects all Pokémon on the user's side of the field for the rest of that turn from moves that can target multiple Pokémon, even those used by an ally that strike all Pokémon on the field (such as Earthquake and Surf). This move has +3 priority, so it will be executed before most other moves.

Generation V-VI
In Generation V only, the chance that Quick Guard will succeed drops each time the user successfully and consecutively uses Endure, any protection move that only affects the user, Quick Guard, or Wide Guard. Each time, the chance of success is multiplied by 1/2.

Also in Generation V, if a Pokémon uses Feint or Shadow Force to attack its own ally who is protected by Wide Guard, Wide Guard will not be dispelled.

In Generations V and VI, Wide Guard could not block status moves that target multiple Pokémon.

Generation VII onwards
Due to an oversight, in version 1.0 of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Wide Guard reduces the damage of all damaging Z-Moves, rather than just damaging Z-Moves that target multiple Pokémon; this was fixed in version 1.1 of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. (There are no damaging Z-Moves that target multiple Pokémon in Sun and Moon.)

If powered up by a Rockium Z into Z-Wide Guard, the user's Defense stat rises by one stage.
UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Wide Guard is Aegislash's second move. It is obtained by reaching level 8 and upgrading Iron Defense into it instead of Iron Head. The user focuses in place for a short time to create a great shield on them. When this shield appears, boost count increases by 1, granting a shield to the user and shoves enemies in front. While this shield is active, enemy player attacks increase boost count by 1 for each different enemy player (capping at 4). When this move ends, shove enemies in front of the user once again and slow them for 2s. At level 13, the move's cooldown is reduced.
In Pokémon UNITE, Mystical Fire is Sylveon's, Delphox's and Chandelure's first move.

Sylveon obtains this move after evolving from Eevee at level 4, and upgrading Swift into it instead of Hyper Voice. The user creates four small flames while leaping in the designated direction. The flames shoot toward enemies one by one, dealing damage and decreasing their Sp. Attack by 15% for 1s, stacking up to 4 times. Each time a flame hits, it reduces the cooldown of this move and after the first flame hits, subsequent flames on the same target deal 25% damage. At level 10, a fifth flame is added to the move.

Delphox obtains this move by evolving from Braixen at level 6, and upgrading Ember into it instead of Fire Blast. It unleashes a special, hot ball of fire in a forward direction, and explodes if it hits an enemy, dealing damage to all targets in the area-of-effect. At level 11, the move reduces the cooldown of all moves by 1s if it hits a target, reducing a further 1.5s if it hits an enemy from the opposing team.
UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Mystical Fire is Sylveon's first move. It is obtained by evolving from Eevee at level 4 and upgrading Swift into it instead of Hyper Voice. The user creates four small flames while leaping in the designated direction. The flames shoot toward enemies one by one, dealing damage and decreasing their Sp. Attack by 15% for 1s, stacking up to 4 times. Each time a flame hits, reduce the cooldown of this move and after the first flame hits, subsequent flames on the same target deal 25% damage. At level 10, the user creates an extra flame.
