'''The history of the [[Pokémon world]]''' is known to us today, because the histories have been passed down as legends from generation to generation. Nobody knows if it is real or not, but there are some symbols that proofs that these legends are real.

Below here is a timeline of events in the history of the Pokémon world, primarily those established in the [[canon]] of the [[Pokémon games]], since these apply most to other forms of canon. There is also a separate [[Timeline of events in the anime|timeline of events]] for the [[Pokémon anime]].

This information is based primarily on [[Sinnoh myths|the mythology]] of both the [[Sinnoh]] and [[Hoenn]] regions.

* Beginning of universe
In the beginning of the universe, a rift in space (Mew before it was turned into a pokemon) made {{p|Arceus}} then it came into being, being the first pokémon in existance. Arceus created {{p|Dialga}}, {{p|Palkia}} and possibly {{p|Giratina}} (who then proceeded to disappear and look after the [[Ruined World]]) and gives Dialga and Palkia the abilities to control time and space. Then, during very early formation of the world, possibly sooner, Arceus creates {{p|Azelf}}, {{p|Uxie}}, and {{p|Mesprit}} to create emotion and spirit, something that embodies us today.

Around this time, {{p|Mew}} came into being by itself, containing the DNA of every pokémon to exist and exist in the future.

* Creation of [[Pokémon world]]
In the creation of the Pokémon world, {{p|Groudon}} is formed from magma, {{p|Kyogre}} is formed by the pressure in the deep sea trenches and {{p|Rayquaza}} is formed by the minerals of the ozone layer. Rayquaza proceeds to fly aroud in the ozone layer, occasionaly coming to rest at [[Sky Pillar]]. Groudon and Kyogre proceed to create landmass and fill the sea, repectively. However, they meet and wage a humongous battle for the dominance of sea and land. This battle continues until Rayquaza quells it, causing Groudon and Kyogre to retreat to special caverns, where they [[rest]] until the events of R/S/E. Red and Blue orbs where created to prevent the awakening of Groudon and Kyogre again, the orbs remain at [[Mt. Pyre]] to this day.
Mew at this time are plentiful and live in large numbers.

Rayquaza proceeds to fly aroud in the ozone layer, occasionaly coming to rest at [[Sky Pillar]]. Groudon and Kyogre proceed to create landmass and fill the sea, repectively. However, they meet and wage a humongous battle for the dominance of sea and land. This battle continues until Rayquaza quells it, causing Groudon and Kyogre to retreat to special caverns, where they [[rest]] until the events of R/S/E. Red and Blue orbs where created to prevent the awakening of Groudon and Kyogre again, the orbs remain at [[Mt. Pyre]] to this day.
Mew at this time are plentiful and live in large numbers.
Landmasses such as Mt. Coronet are created, and {{p|Regigigas}} moves the continents, forming the regions. The [[Sinnoh]] region is created around Mt. Coronet. During this violent procedure, [[Stark Mountain]] is created and {{p|Heatran}} is formed in lava.

After championing it, over a new Elite Four and its previous champion, Lance, Gold/Kris then heads to the Kanto region to challenge its eight gyms, which have changed from three years prior.
