Has anyone paid attention to Pokemon that Gym Leaders (Falkner, Whitney, Jasmine and Maylene) use in the Pokeathlon. Are they different than Pokemon that they use in the battle? --Maxim 16:15, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
:I think Falkner had his Swellow and... uh... That's all I remember, actually. Could have been Pigeot and Staraptor. --Phred 17:45, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Medal Bug
Yesterday I found a "bug". It is kinda hard to explain, so I'll just write what happened to me. I played the Speed event with Ho-oh, Arceus and Moltres. I won, and when I was going to enter the Power event, i chose the same Pokémon, and I noticed something. It said that ALL of my three Ho-ohs and four Moltreses had won the Speed Medal, even though I just won it with one Ho-oh and Moltres. Could this mean that when choosing Pokémon to use in Pokéathlon, that it just loads the Nature and the Pokémons name from the box, and not its PID? And is this worth writing in the article? The Pokémon franchise first reached Norway in 2000, with the first broadcast of Pokémon - Jeg velger deg! in Norwegian. In Norway, Bergsala A/S owns the franchise.

Pokémon anime
The Pokémon anime is broadcasted on Disney XD (previously known as Fox Kids and then Jetix) and TV2 Junior in Norway. Most of the Johto seasons have been skipped, though, and were never shown on Norwegian television.

Cast and crew
The main character, Ash Ketchum, is dubbed by Nils-Martin Crawfurd (born August 19, 1983). Misty's role was given to Anine Kruse (born November 1, 1977), and Brock was originally voiced by Eirik Espolin Johnson. Even though he passed that role to Erik Skøld (who also voiced Gary Oak and Tracey Sketchit), Eirik continued to voice characters in the anime, such as Hank, Matt, Samuel, Scott (season 8), Palace Maven, and Robin.

Team Rocket's Jessie, James, and MTR were voiced by Lena Meieran, Tore Barstad, and Tommy Karlsen (born June 9, 1975) respectively. Karlsen, who is most known for his role as the protagonist Proffen in the popular movie serial Pelle og Proffen, also had many other roles in the series, including Drake, Kai, Maron, Tommy, Raoul Contesta (from AG160 and up), and other minor roles. His performance as Meowth is heavily based on Nathan Price's interpretation of the role. Tore Barstad eventually passed the role of James to singer Ola Fjellvikaas (born September 3, 1970 in Trondheim), who later passed the role to Simen Sand in the beginning of season 8. Sand's interpretation of James is notably much more flamboyant than Fjellvikaas' rendering, taking inspiration from Eric Stuart's later work in the role. He also took over the roles of Professor Oak (who was originally dubbed by Bernhard Ramstad) and Harley.

In season 9, Professor Oak's role was moved to Trond Teigen, a veteran actor and one of the most prominent voice actors in the Norwegian Pokémon dub, most known for being the voice of the narrator from episode 2 and up. He is also the vocalist for several of the Norwegian opening themes, including the opening to the first season, Pokémon: Battle Frontier and Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension. Teigen voiced many other characters in the series, including Adam, Archie, Bill, Pyramid King, Butch Conway, Dee Dunstan, Drew, Fitzwilliam, Forrest, Hal, Isaiah, Jeremy, Jonathan, Joshua, Kerrigan, Nando, Nicholai, Professor Birch, Professor Proctor, Randy, Sebastian, Sigourney, Tate, Dome Ace, and Wallace.

May was voiced by Marit Berg, while her brother Max was voiced by Even Løken Bergan. Dawn's role is performed by Eline Høyer.

Other notable voice actors in the Norwegian dub include Siri Nilsen as Officer Jenny and Hanne Dancke Arnesen as Nurse Joy.

Music
In the year 2000, the soundtrack album Pokémon 2.B.A. Master was translated into Norwegian under the title Pokémon Du må fange dem alle!.

Pokémon Games
The games arrive in Norway at the same time as all other European countries. They are not localized to Norwegian, but are English.

Events
Local events occur not too often in Norway. They are announced at the official Pokémon Forums of Norway. The latest event, as of April 2010, was an event where you could recieve Shaymin (not Oak's Letter) as a Wonder Card. This event occured from the May 22 to May 29 2009.
However, the Wi-Fi events are the same as the whole PAL-region.

Contact is a term used to describe the condition when one Pokémon, in a battle physically touches the opponent in order to deal damage. Up until Generation IV, moves that make contact could be either physical moves or special moves; however, ever since the distinction between physical and special were no longer based on types, most moves that make contact are physical.

Effects of contact
* The use of contact-based moves can be affected directly by certain abilities of the foe, such as Cute Charm and Effect Spore, and indirectly by certain attackers abilities, like Guts
* It can be used to spread Pokérus.
* Pre-Gen IV, Damage dealing for moves that make contact depend on the moves type.
* Post-Gen IV, Damage dealing for moves that make contact are always calculated using the attacking Pokémon's Attack and the defending Pokémon's Defense.

Trivia
* In all console games except Pokemon Battle Revolution, the moves making contact's battle animation doesn't show the attacking Pokémon hitting the defending one at all. In the handheld games however, it differes from attack to attack.
A tag battle is a type of double battle where two Pokémon Trainers team up against one or two others. In this type of battle, all Trainers may use three Pokémon each except in the event in which the battle is two-on-one, at which point, the solo Trainer may use the usual six. Unlike regular double battles, there are no specific Trainer classes encountered for tag battles. Instead, two different Trainers must both see the player at the same time.

In the games
Since , tag battles have been possible at various points throughout the games. Other such battles happen at specific points in the game.

* Tag battles are conducted via link cable with two to three other trainers. Players decide which side to battle. This was the only way to have a tag battle in .
* In Emerald, Steven Stone battles two members of Team Magma alongside the player in the Mossdeep Space Center.
* Tag battles are also conducted in Hoenn's Battle Tower. Players have the option of teaming up with either computer-controlled partners or a friend via link cable.
* At various points throughout , five Trainers partner up with the player for a short time. As long as they are with the player, all wild battles will be conducted as double battles. Trainers in these areas are also set up to favor two-on-two tag battles. The same Trainers can later be selected to act as the player's partner in Sinnoh's Battle Tower.
* Professor Rowan's assistant and the player's Barry will also team up with the player at certain times, often during confrontations with Team Galactic.
* Battles at the Seven Stars Restaurant are all two-on-one tag battles.
* In Platinum, the player and his/her Barry are challenged to a tag battle by Flint and Volkner upon entering the Battle Zone for the first time.
* In HeartGold and SoulSilver, the player and Lance are challenged by Rocket Executive Ariana and a Team Rocket Grunt in the Team Rocket HQ.
*Also, the player and Silver can sometimes battle Clair and Lance in the Dragon's Den.

In the anime
section
Tag battles have been featured in the anime since the second episode. The first tag battlers were Jessie and James of Team Rocket. At this time, Misty stated that tag battles were against the official league rules. Team Rocket still challenges the main protagonists in tag battles regularly.

Tag battles became more common in the anime as of the Advanced Generation. On two occasions, Ash has paired up with two of his female companions. The first time was in The Bicker the Better, with May and The Champ Twins!, with Dawn. In both situations, Ash had gotten into an argument with his partner and ended up making up with them and becoming in sync with them during battle. Bagged Then Tagged! also featured a tag battle, with Ash and Dawn battling Lyra and Khoury. Ash and Dawn seemed to work well this time, defeating their opponents.

Hearthome City has its own special competition known as the Hearthome City Tag Battle Competition. Trainer pairs are chosen by random. Each Trainer receives a card with a number on it and must partner with the Trainer whose number is paired with their number.

Trivia
* When battling alongside Steven in Emerald, his Pokémon are shown to gain experience after the defeat of an opponent Pokémon. This does not happen to a partner's Pokémon in the tag battles of Generation IV.
* The tag battle against Mars and Jupiter in the games has the potential to be a twelve-on-six fight, due to Barry's full party. All other tag battles in the game have numbers that are more even.
* In Generation IV, when encountering wild Pokémon while having a stat trainer following you, it says "A wild [Pokémon] and [Pokémon] appeared!". This is a grammar error, as the indefinite article "A" is only used when pointing to a single noun. The correct sentence could be: "The wild Pokémon [Pokémon] and [Pokémon] appeared!"
