I noticed this and thought it would be good trivia:
*"Genesect is the only Pokémon that was at one point the final Pokémon in the National Dex that could not be a Psychic."
Genesect: Mewtwo of Gen V
I got a lot of hunches on this pokemon being artificially created by Team Plasma. There are some reasons why: First, both are being developed as the most strongest pokemon created by science. Second, they originated from the remains of a extinct pokemon (Mewtwo originated from a fossilized hair of Mew and Genesect originated from a bug-like fossil). Third, both villainous group shares the same goal on making them the strongest pokemon ever created to rule the world. And fourth, both of them escaped for unknown reasons in the games. But I know there are more to this relation, somehow....
Secondly, everyone came after me when I did this, a very obvious, but according to all the other users who ganged up on me, unimportant difference, as was also pointed out to me with this one. Genesect is somewhere between these two cases, but mostly, if Arceus is not considered evolved through its forme changes, Genesect definitely shouldn't be either. --<span style="color:#91A3B0">—</span><span style="color:black; font-size: 13pt">Ve<small>№</small>moth</span> ♦ 02:37, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
::::The thing is that there is a distinction between Forme differences and gender differences. :::::On a somewhat related note, I don't quite like how the form evoboxes are set up. Using Genesect's as an example, it is linear, so it says that only certain forms can change to other ones, which is not true. Genesect holding any kind of cassette (or none at all) can then switch items to any other (or discard it). :::::: Might be easier to not use any arrows at all. Two-way arrows or simple lines could seem messy if we can instead figure out a placement that doesn't lend itself to strict ordering. How about 3 above and 2 below, or 2 above and 3 below? Or 2, 2, 1, with no Cassette as the odd one out? Or if that circle is really on the table, just place them in it unconnected. I wanted to add this:

Also does it look like Genesect's head has the same shape as the (hollow) 'standard' of its cannon. Making it look like its head could kinda 'click' on the 'standard'. And also seems the hollow standard to be big enough to contain the rest of its body, giving Genesect's design the concept of 'Transformers'.
: It's mostly correct. The turret doesn't really fit its head, but the trailer shows its legs retracting and the body fitting into that hollow section to turn into a hover tank. ==Genesect a reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion?==
http://i.imgur.com/WNgWa

I think Genesect may be an homage to Neon Genesis Evangelion. The colour of him and his shiny sprite look very similar to the Unit-01 and Unit-02 respectively. Even down to the secondary colours used on the eyes. The stripe on the abdomen looks like the stripe on the Evas midsections. The origin story of Genesect is also very similar. The Eva units were created from a humanoid alien and modified to be piloted. The eva units are actually biological creatures with armour and a cockpit attached. Genesect's head looks similar to the mass produced eva units long heads. (Not pictured.) The choice of colours seems pretty deliberate.
::::: I think Kabutops is the ancestor of Genesect, despite that Genesect is bug type. First of all, Kabutops shares a resemblance to Genesect. Second of all, it states on Genesect that before it was modified by Team Plasma, it was a skilled and a ruthless hunter, while Kabutops was a fierce prehistoric predator. Next, there could be a possibility that the revived fossil was Kabutops because there couldn't be a pokemon fossil that when revived, would look like Genesect other than the Dome fossil when Kabuto evolves into Kabutops. Finally, Kabutops and Genesect both have some of the same features like, that they both have wide flattish heads,a provident chest, the pelvis sticks out,they both have blade hands, and their leg structures are almost the same. The Trainers met here are the same ones that battle in the Battle Subway<!--, and the same Pokémon banned from the Battle Subway are banned from entering here, as well-->. The player can opt to fight five consecutive mock battles—called the Battle Test—of either Single Battles (requiring three Pokémon) or Double Battles (requiring four Pokémon). When battling, all Pokémon are auto-leveled to 50, whether they were below in level or above. Bag items are not permitted to be used. At the end of the fifth battle, the player is awarded a score and a rank. Depending on their score, the player will receive a certain amount of BP and a vitamin.

In Black 2 and White 2, the Battle Institute can only be accessed after defeating the Elite Four and Champion. If the player tries to access it before that point, an Ace Trainer will exit the institute and block the entrance, telling the player that they must become the Champion before they can enter. Unlike the Battle Subway, the Battle Institute does not require the player to save the game before participating.

Each battle grows in difficulty, starting with pre-evolved Pokémon and potentially fighting legendary Pokémon by the end. Once the Battle Test begins, there is no quitting; losing one battle means continuing to the next, until all five battles are complete. The 'Run' command acts as a battle forfeit measure for that battle only. If it is not the fifth battle, the player's forfeit will trigger the next battle.
Each battle increases the max points that can be earned, meaning the max amounts of points one can earn in the first battle is lower than the max points one can earn in the last. Points are awarded depending on how many battles are won (no points are awarded for lost battles) and how well the player beats the opponent; fainted teammates count against the final score, as does damage taken.

The scoring breakdown is as follows:
* 1000 points per battle won
* 80 points per opposing Pokémon fainted
* 5 points per switch
* 1 point per super-effective attack
* 4 points per opposing attack that is rendered ineffective (either from type immunities, Levitate, or a status attack that the Pokémon is immune to due to its type)
* 2 points per opposing attack that is rendered not very effective
* 30 points if a battle was won with the opposing side taking at least one turn, 15 points if a battle was won without the opposing side taking a turn
* -80 points per Pokémon fainted
* -10 points per turn
* -10 points per ineffective attack against the opponent (on the same basis as the above)
* -2 points per resisted attack against the opponent
* 1 point per percent of HP remaining after each battle

<!--Mega Evolution is not an evolution method, and must not be classified as such.-->
A Mega Stone (Japanese: メガストーン Mega Stone) is a type of held item introduced in Pokémon X and Y. It allows Pokémon to Mega Evolve.

During battle, the player can use their Mega Ring to Mega Evolve a Pokémon if it is holding the correct Mega Stone before it attacks. Mega Stones only affect Pokémon during battles, and Pokémon will revert back to their basic form once the battle has ended. All Pokémon that can undergo Mega Evolution have an equivalent Mega Stone that is named after them.

All Mega Stones not directly given to the player can only be found between 8PM and 9PM.

The stone for Blaziken, the Blazikenite, cannot be found in regular gameplay and can only be obtained via special distributions.

Mega Stones cannot be transferred to or from the correct holder: Thief and Covet do not take the Mega Stone, Knock Off does not remove the Mega Stone, Trick and Switcheroo fail, Fling and Bestow fail, and Symbiosis does not activate. Embargo and Magic Room also cannot prevent the use of Mega Stones to Mega Evolve Pokémon. Mega Stones are not consumed upon use but only one Mega Stone can be used per battle, and only once per battle.
In the main series
Mega Stones have yet to debut in the main Pokémon anime series, although Professor Sycamore did tell Ash in Lumiose City Pursuit! that a "special stone" is required to trigger Mega Evolution, referring to Mega Stones.

In Pokémon Origins
In the second episode of the Pokémon Origins mini-series, Mr. Fuji gave Red a Mega Stone and a Key Stone, although he did not tell Red what they truly were, saying that he would find out eventually. In the final episode of the mini-series, during Red's battle against Mewtwo, one was found to be a Charizardite X from Kalos. This and the Key Stone triggered Red's Charizard's Mega Evolution, allowing it to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X and weaken Mewtwo enough to be caught.

Poké Miles (Japanese: ポケマイル Poké Miles) are a type of currency introduced in Pokémon X and Y. They are earned a variety of ways, such as walking around the Kalos region and interacting with other players by trading and battling online. Additionally, they can also be earned by storing Pokémon in the Pokémon Bank.

The Miles can be exchanged in-game for prizes or sent to the Pokémon Global Link through Game Sync to be redeemed for prizes online.
