I got a lot of hunches on this pokemon being artificially created by Team Plasma. There are some reasons why: First, both are being developed as the most strongest pokemon created by science. Second, they originated from the remains of a extinct pokemon (Mewtwo originated from a fossilized hair of Mew and Genesect originated from a bug-like fossil). Third, both villainous group shares the same goal on making them the strongest pokemon ever created to rule the world. And fourth, both of them escaped for unknown reasons in the games. But I know there are more to this relation, somehow....

Maybe it's a plural/singular grammatical issue, but the article says that

I was wondering - what will be done for artwork section of the event legendary Pokémon until their official Ken Sugimori art is released? I remember Arceus had fan art until its Sugimori art is revealed, so will Kerudio, Meloetta, and Genesect follow the same route? I'd be happy to provide Sugimori-style artwork for them if that ends up being the case. I know this is probably jumping the gun quite a bit, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. I heard almost everyone at YouTUBE giving Genosect the nickname Dennis due to the confusion caused with Geechisu's battle music. :Before the English version came out, we used the Japanese move description (see [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Techno_Blast_(move)&diff=next&oldid=1392396 here]). We translated this as "The user aims and fires at the opponent with Photon Blaster. The type of the move changes depending on the held Cassette." This is in fact wrong, and the Japanese says almost exactly what the English move description does (except "light bullet" instead of "beam of light"). How somebody got Photon Blaster out of it I have no idea. ==Genesect a reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion?==

I think Genesect may be an homage to Neon Genesis Evangelion. The colour of him and his shiny sprite look very similar to the Unit-01 and Unit-02 respectively. Even down to the secondary colours used on the eyes. The stripe on the abdomen looks like the stripe on the Evas midsections. The origin story of Genesect is also very similar. The Eva units were created from a humanoid alien and modified to be piloted. The eva units are actually biological creatures with armour and a cockpit attached. Genesect's head looks similar to the mass produced eva units long heads. (Not pictured.) The choice of colours seems pretty deliberate.

The '''Battle Institute''' (Japanese: '''トライアルハウス''' ''Trial House'') is a building just left of the Pokémon Center in [[Nimbasa City]] in [[Generation V]] and [[Lumiose City]] in [[Generation VI]]. The Trainers met here are the same ones that battle in the Battle Subway. The player can opt to fight five consecutive mock battles—called the Battle Test—of either Single Battles (requiring three Pokémon) or Double Battles (requiring four Pokémon). When battling, all Pokémon are auto-leveled to 50, whether they were below in level or above. Bag items are not permitted to be used. At the end of the fifth battle, the player is awarded a score and a rank. Depending on their score, the player will receive a certain amount of BP and a vitamin.

In Black 2 and White 2, the Battle Institute can only be accessed after defeating the Elite Four and Champion. If the player tries to access it before that point, an Ace Trainer will exit the institute and block the entrance, telling the player that they must become the Champion before they can enter. Unlike the Battle Subway, the Battle Institute does not require the player to save the game before participating.

Each battle grows in difficulty, starting with pre-evolved Pokémon and potentially fighting [[legendary Pokémon]] by the end. Once the Battle Test begins, there is no quitting; losing one battle means continuing to the next, until all five battles are complete. The 'Run' command acts as a battle forfeit measure for that battle only. If it is not the fifth battle, the player's forfeit will trigger the next battle.

Each battle increases the max points that can be earned, meaning the max amounts of points one can earn in the first battle is lower than the max points one can earn in the last. Points are awarded depending on how many battles are won (no points are awarded for lost battles) and how well the player beats the opponent; fainted teammates count against the final score, as does damage taken.

A '''Mega Stone''' (Japanese: '''メガストーン''' ''Mega Stone'') is a type of [[held item]] introduced in [[Pokémon X and Y]]. It allows Pokémon to [[Mega Evolution|Mega Evolve]].

During battle, the player can use their [[Mega Ring]] to Mega Evolve a Pokémon if it is holding the correct Mega Stone before it attacks. Mega Stones only affect Pokémon during battles, and Pokémon will revert back to their basic form once the battle has ended. All Pokémon that can undergo Mega Evolution have an equivalent Mega Stone that is named after them.

The stone for {{p|Blaziken}}, the Blazikenite, cannot be found in regular gameplay and can only be obtained via special distributions.

Mega Stones cannot be transferred to or from the correct holder: {{m|Thief}} and {{m|Covet}} do not take the Mega Stone, {{m|Knock Off}} does not remove the Mega Stone, {{m|Trick}} and {{m|Switcheroo}} fail, {{m|Fling}} and {{m|Bestow}} fail, and {{a|Symbiosis}} does not activate. {{m|Embargo}} and {{m|Magic Room}} also cannot prevent the use of Mega Stones to Mega Evolve Pokémon. ===In Pokémon Origins===
In the [[PO02|second episode]] of the [[Pokémon Origins]] mini-series, [[Mr. Fuji]] gave {{OBP|Red|Origins}} a Mega Stone and a [[Mega Ring|Key Stone]], although he did not tell Red what they truly were, saying that he would find out eventually. In the [[PO04|final episode]] of the mini-series, during Red's battle against {{p|Mewtwo}}, one was found to be a Charizardite X from Kalos. This and the Key Stone triggered Red's {{p|Charizard}}'s Mega Evolution, allowing it to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X and weaken Mewtwo enough to be caught.

'''Poké Miles''' (Japanese: '''ポケマイル''' ''Poké Miles'') are a type of currency introduced in [[Pokémon X and Y]]. They are earned a variety of ways, such as walking around the [[Kalos]] region and interacting with other {{player}}s by trading and battling online. Additionally, they can also be earned by storing Pokémon in the [[Pokémon Bank]].

The Miles can be exchanged in-game for prizes or sent to the [[Pokémon Global Link]] through [[Game Sync]] to be redeemed for prizes online.
