It is one of the more famous [[Legendary Pokémon]], being the subject of two Pokémon [[Movies]]. You can capture it in [[Pokémon Red]], [[Pokémon Green]], [[Pokémon Blue]], [[Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen]] after defeating the [[Elite Four]], and upgrading the [[Sevii Islands]] [[Network Machine]] in FireRed/LeafGreen. It is found in [[Cerulean Cave]] at [[Level]] 70.

Mewtwo's [[Abilities|Ability]] is Pressure, which causes the opponent to use two PP instead of one each time it uses a move.

Despite Mewtwo's name and similar appearance towards [[Mew]] or {{p|Lucario}}, it does not [[Evolution|evolve]] from or into any other Pokémon.

Mewtwo's name is a combination of ''{{p|Mew}}'', referring to the Pokémon on which it was based, and ''two'', indicating that it is a clone of Mew.

It is very [[wp:cat|cat]]-like, and its nature and origin are similar to elements of [[wp:Mary Shelly|Mary Shelly's]] ''[[wp:Frankenstein|Frankenstein]]'', in which an artificial lifeform turned on its creators. Mewtwo also bears a resemblance to the Dragon Ball Z villian, Freeza.

While [[Mewtwo (anime)|Mewtwo]] has been the Pokémon of focus of two [[movies]], it also made brief appearances in [[EP063]] and [[EP064]] in its body-armor. The first intance was when [[Giovanni]] used it to battle [[Gary]]'s {{p|Arcanine}} and {{p|Nidoking}}. The second time was when Mewtwo totaled Giovanni's headquarters and flew off.

A [[Mirage Pokémon|Mirage]] Mewtwo appears in ''[[The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon]]'' and is the most powerful Pokémon controled by [[Mirage Master]].

Mewtwo can be unlocked after a lot of playing in VS. Mode; either after 700 matches or 20 hours of combined play. Despite Mewtwo being a [[Legendary Pokémon]], most players of the game don't consider it to be a great fighter as Mewtwo's weight, speed and strength are contrary to it's real Pokémon statistics.

Aside from the [[Pokemon: The First movie]] and a few other special episodes Mewtwo is not in any other anime. he is however in the manga [[Mewtwo Series]] where he is hunted by [[SAT]].

Ash is apparently based on the main character of [[Pokémon Red and Blue]], [[Red (game)|Red]]. He shares his name with the creator of the [[Pokémon]] franchise, [[Satoshi Tajiri]]. His Japanese name can be taken to mean "wisdom" or "reason" (智), and his English name has many meanings. His English last name is a pun on the original English Pokémon motto, "Gotta Catch 'em All!"

Ash's goal, as described in the first episode, ''[[EP001|Pokémon! I Choose You!]]'', is to be the world's greatest [[Pokémon Master]]. Ash began his journey as a warm-hearted but stubborn and unskilled [[Pokémon trainer]]. He was forced to accept the irreverent [[Ash's Pikachu|Pikachu]] from [[Professor Oak]] as his [[starter Pokémon]] because he carelessly broke his alarm clock and woke up late on the day he was set to get his first Pokémon. Many of his first [[Gym]] [[Badge]]s were given to him out of pity or gratitude rather than the result of his winning [[Pokémon battle]]s with the [[Gym Leader]]s.

Ash has changed a great deal over the course of the series, but his earnesty and determination have remained. Never straying from his goal, he has remained loyal to his friends, his family, and his supporters, but most of all his Pokémon. Ash became a great trainer by learning to find and use the inner strength of each of his Pokémon by bonding with them and learning where their hidden abilities lie. For example, he uses his Pikachu's speed to outmaneuver larger foes and attack. Additionally, whereas Ash, in the first season of the series, trained not to further himself, but instead to catch more Pokémon than his childhood [[rival]], [[Gary Oak]]. He later slowed his pace, which allowed him to focus on the individual traits of each Pokémon. At the [[Silver Conference|Johto League Silver Conference]], with great humility and maturity, Ash finally won a battle against his old rival, signifying a great milestone in his history.

In nearly every episode of the anime, Ash befriends someone who will influence him and cause him to strive to become a better trainer. Although he is not a dependent individual, he is still young and has learned to make his way relying on his friends. His true friends have joined him on his Pokémon journey through the years: [[Misty]], [[Brock]], [[Tracey Sketchit|Tracey]], [[May]], and [[Max]].

Ash lived with his mother, [[Delia Ketchum]], until he left for his Pokémon journey at the age of ten.

His father is never introduced. The anime suggests that his father was once a Pokémon trainer, but it is unclear whether he is still living. There is great controversy as to whom Ash's father really is, but the writers have chosen to not focus on this aspect of Ash's life.

Ash is an only child, breaking from the tradition of several other main characters whose siblings are often a foil or focal point in their lives.
