Electrike (Japanese: ラクライ Rakurai) is an Electric Pokémon.

It evolves into Manectric starting at level 26.

Biology
Physiology
Electrike are small, green, dog-like Pokémon with yellow markings. Four fangs are discernible when their mouth is open, with two on the upper jaw and two on the lower. Electrike have a small pointed yellow-tipped tail, and as its hind legs have spikes on the heels, in certain positions it gives the appearance of Electrike possessing three tails. Its forelegs and chin also have spiky extensions, but their most distinctive feature would be their large head crest, which has angular lightning-like patterning on the sides, with a continuation of the yellow coloration down their snout. Electrike’s additional yellow coloration would include the stripe down its back, its half moon-shaped paw pads on its forefeet and its circular paw pads on its hind feet.

Gender differences
None.

Special abilities
The electricity found in Electrike's body is obtained from the friction that occurs when it runs at incredible speeds. It is stored in its fur, and can be released at the Pokémon's will. This allows it to use moves like Spark from the static electricity found in its fur, which also activates one of its abilities, Static. It can also learn to wield a Flamethrower attack.
Behavior
Electrike is a Pokémon with an affinity to movement and agility. It is affected by weather, letting out sparks whenever a storm approaches. Its body will also blaze with showers of sparks in seasons of especially arid air.

As Electrike stores electricity in its fur, it is advisable it brush it frequently. When grooming Electrike, one should not use a metal brush, as the metal will conduct the electrical charge in the fur and subsequently shock the handler. Like other Pokémon in the possession of Trainers, Electrike are depicted to enjoy being brushed, with the proper techniques in mind.
In the anime
Electrike first appeared in Watt's with Wattson?. After Wattson was easily defeated by Ash Ketchum during the Gym Match, Wattson needed some time alone. During this, an Electrike came to comfort the Mauville City Gym Leader. Wattson decided to keep the electrical canine as one of his own Pokémon.

Electrike also appeared in The Electrike Company! under the ownership of Jaco. Though Jaco thought that Electrike wasn't that strong and wouldn't pass a test, Ash and friends helped Electrike control its power, resulting in it evolving into a Manectric.

A wild Electrike appeared in Camping It Up!.
Trivia
* Electrike shares the same species name with Jolteon. They are both known as Lightning Pokémon.
* Electrike's shiny sprite's color is similar to its evolution Manectric's normal color.
* Electrike is the only Electric Pokémon in the List of Pokémon by color.

Origin
Electrike may be based on a maned wolf pup and a youkai of Japanese lore, the 雷獣 Raijū, an elemental lightning creature that can take on the shape of various mammals.
Name origin
Electrike's name may be a combination of electric and strike, or "trike".

Rakurai literally means 落雷, bolt of lightning.
Berry Blending
Pecha berries are usefull to make Pink Pokéblocks, or other colors having a sweet flavor. This berry is the only kind of sweet berry the in-game charachters use, so this berry can only make higher level Pokéblocks when blended with friends.
Personal Information
Born in 1983. Male. I have 3 younger sisters.

Back in Jr. High, a new scout leader didn't know my name. So while we were playing flag football, he called me "Slim." The name stuck, and ever since my friends call me Slim.

History with Pokémon
I was first introduced by the last part of the Anime episode Battle Aboard the St. Anne. I didn't know what was going on with the Pokémon, but the Captain saying, "Don't worry! I'm just testing out the lifeboats!" and later, "If anyone didn't make it off safely, please say 'I' ... Okay! We all made it, then!" That's what got me first interested, the humor.

At heart, I am a programmer. Seeing how there is so many Pokémon, and how they all have different attacks, and types really got me hooked.

Somewhat later, I bought my first Game Boy Color at the same time my parents bought one for my sisters. At the same time, I got Pokémon Yellow to be my first game, and my sisters got Pokémon Red and Blue. Once Pokémon Gold and Silver came out, I got Gold, and my sisters got Silver and Crystal.

Continuing playing, I became more interested in the game mechanics, which led me to Pokémon Forever. Meowth346 there said there was a new wiki about Pokémon called Bulbapedia, which is how I found this place. I have a large folder of information on my computer that I have gleaned mostly from these two sites, as well as various other places.

Now I also have Game Boy Advanced SP, where I use Pokémon Emerald. My sisters have Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, and Leaf Green.

My Contributions
Mostly concerning Pokéblocks and Berries, although there are many smaller contributions

Continuing playing, I became more interested in the , which led me to Pokémon Forever. Meowth346 there said there was a new wiki about Pokémon called Bulbapedia, which is how I found this place.
An alternate colored, or shiny, Pokémon is one that has a color different from the natural one featured in the Pokédex. For example, a shiny Zubat would be green instead of blue. Shiny Pokémon are rarer than their normally-colored counterparts, and follow no set pattern in their color change per species. However, all shinies of a species have the same coloration. The probability of getting a shiny in any game is 1/8192.

Shiny Pokémon are only in Generation II, Pokémon Stadium 2, and all Generation III games, although Pokémon caught in Generation I games may be shiny when moved elsewhere.

In the games, when a shiny Pokémon enters a battle, stars flash and surround it. Also, three stars are indicated in a shiny Pokémon's Summary screen.

In 2nd generation games, alternate coloration is determined by its IVs, with Speed, Defense, and Special being 10, and Attack being either 2,3,6,7,10,11,14 or 15. In 3rd generation games, shiny Pokémon aren't determined by genes, but by its Personality value

In the TCG, shiny Pokémon are called "shining" or "star" Pokémon.

Pokéblocks are primarily used to increase a Pokémon's condition in one of five areas: Cool, Beauty, Cute, Smart, and/or Tough, for Pokémon Contests.

Pokéblocks are made by mixing berries with one to three other people in a Berry Blender, found at Contest Halls. Once berries are selected, the center of the blender will spin. When the blender's arow points to your marker, one can push their button to make it spin faster. The faster it spins, the better the Pokéblock. Once it is done, each person recieves a Pokéblock.

The flavor and color of Pokéblock depends on the berries used to make the Pokéblock. In the process of blending, berries with a sour flavor cancel out bitter, bitter cancels sweet, sweet cancels dry, dry cancels spicy, and spicy cancels sour. A list of Pokéblock colors and flavors is found at the end of this article.

The Level of a Pokéblock depends on the berries used and the speed of the Berry Blender. One can make higher-level Pokéblocks using different berries with the same kind of flavor. The Level will also increase as the speed of the blender increases. A higher level Pokéblock will increase the Pokémon's condition more than a lower level Pokéblock.

The Feel of a Pokéblock depends on the berries used and the number of people using the Berry Blender. The more people blending together, the lower the Feel. The Feel is determined by the average Smoothness of the berries used, subtract the number of people blending. Often the more rare berries (which typically have a stronger flavor) will have a higher Smoothness. A Pokémon can only eat so many Pokéblocks, as indicated by stars that eventually circle the Pokémon when checking its condition in the PokéNav. The higher the Feel of a Pokéblock, the faster it will fill a Pokémon up. More low-feel Pokéblocks can be fed to a Pokémon than high-feel ones.

Pokémon of different Natures will prefer different Pokéblocks flavors. If the Pokémon happilly eats the Pokéblock, its condition will increase faster, whereas if it disdainfully eats the Pokéblock, its condition will raise slower.

Pokéblocks are used to prepare a Pokémon for Pokémon Contests by raising its condition in the category it will participate in, as well as the two adjacent attributes. The better its condition in those areas and the better its luster, the better the Pokémon will perform in the preliminary judging.

Pokéblocks are also used in the Safari Zone in feeders to attract Pokémon of certain Natures. Also in the Safari Zone, Pokéblocks can be thrown at a Wild Pokémon to make it less likely to escape.

Finally, in order for the Pokémon Feebas to evolve into Milotic one must max out its Beauty condition.

Berries are small, juicy, fleshy fruit. Many different kinds grow in the Pokémon world - particularly in Hoenn and Johto.

Berries were first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver. The player could give their Pokémon items that would effect battles. However, Pokémon cannot use Potions to restore themselves in battle. The reasoning behind this is that they don't know how to operate human-made things.

Berries, on the other hand, can be used by Pokémon. A Pokémon will automatically use a Berry in battle once its status changes, or its HP drops below a certain point. It varies from Berry to Berry.

Pokémon Gold, Pokémon Silver, and Pokémon Crystal only had a handful of Berries available, and they were only obtainable in certain areas once daily.

In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, a larger number of new Berries were introduced. Some were for use in battle, but most were for making PokéBlocks - which could be fed to Pokémon to increase their chances of winning Pokémon Contests.

In addition, Berries were also greatly changed in Generation III. They no longer grew regularly in certain places - rather, picking a set of Berries uprooted the plant. Berries had to be replanted in Loamy soil for them to grow, and only when watered once per stage can they grow the maximum possible number of berries. Many species of Berry also were given varried growing times, ranging from four hours to four days.

Some Berries in Pokémon Emerald have effects that differ from other Generation III games.

Berries are available in limited supply in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, as well as in Pokémon Colosseum - though they are not as common and widely available as they are in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire or Pokémon Emerald because there is no way to plant or grow new Berries.

Available in Pokémon Emerald, and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen is the Berry crush via the Wireless Club

Pokéblocks are used to prepare a Pokémon for Pokémon Contests by raising its condition in the category it will participate in. The better its condition, the better the Pokémon will perform in the preliminary judging.

The Box trick is a method in the Pokémon games that allows a Pokémon to gain effort points without necessarily leveling up in the process. This method is most useful when training a Pokémon that is already at level 100.

Usually, a Pokémon gains stat points when they level up, based on the amount of effort points that the Pokémon has acquired through battle, and based on it's own base stats. But by depositing a Pokémon into your PC and withdrawing it, the game will, in the process of depositing\withdrawing, recalculate the stats of your Pokémon based on the amount of effort points etc. it possesses. The reason it does this is because while in the box the actual stat values are not stored, so they must be calculated when taken out or viewed. (see Pokémon data structure in the GBA )

Pokémon Contests are a type of competition often contrasted with Pokémon battles and held in Contest Halls.

In the games
Pokémon Contests are in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Pokémon Emerald only.
Pokémon can be entered in one of five categories: Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Smartness, and Toughness, and compete against three other Coodinator's Pokémon entered in the same category in two phases.

Preliminary judging
First, the audience preliminarily votes on which four competing Pokémon looks the coolest, most beautiful, cutest, smartest, or toughest, depending on what category the Contest is in. The attributes the audience doesn't dislike and overall Luster also beneficially influences the audience. To make a Pokémon look cooler, etc., a Coordinator prepares Pokéblocks of a specific color from certain Berries, depending what category he or she wants to augment, and feeds them to his or her Pokémon. One might predict how well a Pokémon will do in this phase by the number of hearts that appear over the audience members' heads.

Secondary judging: appeals
Then in the secondary phase, the four Pokémon take turns, or appeals, using certain moves in front of an appointed Judge. In one Contest, there are five rounds of Appealing, in which each Pokémon may make appeals once or less, depending on the moves it and the other Pokémon have used in the previous round. Every move is in one of the five Contest categories, adds a certain amount of "red hearts" (how much the Judge likes the appealing Pokémon; a "negative" number of hearts is indicated by black hearts), and may have a certain effect on it or the other appealing Pokémon, such as Jamming or reducing other Pokémon's number of hearts, making it or other Pokémon more nervous, and so forth. Move combos (e.g. Sunny Day + Solarbeam) score extra hearts. Moves that are of the same Contest category of the Contest it is competing in may excite the audience, and if the audience becomes extremely excited, the Pokémon scores extra hearts.

Turn order
In the first round, the turn order is determined by how well each Pokémon did in the preliminary judging. In the rounds after the first, they are ordered from who won the most hearts to the least in the next round, unless one of the appeals' moves changes or randomizes the order.

Statuses induced by Contest moves
If a move a Pokémon uses in an appeal makes it "settle down just a bit", indicated by a circle icon, it prevents one jamming, i.e. losing hearts from another Pokémon's move, to take place; after a jam occurs and is prevented or the round is over, the Pokémon stops being "settled down just a bit".

If a move a Pokémon uses in an appeal makes it "become oblivious to others", indicated by a circle icon, it prevents it from being jammed at all during the entire round.

If a move a Pokémon uses in an appeal tries to jam another Pokémon, it or they are indicated with either a swirly spiral icon or an ear.

If a move a Pokémon used in the previous round renders it unable to appeal in this round, it is indicated by an "X" icon.

Stars may be earned in an appeal as marks of "good condition", and may be received from the Judge as a result of an earlier-used move. They add one more heart to the appeal.

Judge's reactions
When the Judge has a question mark "?" over his head, each Pokémon is indicated with the text "NEXT TURN: ?". When this happens, the turn order for the next appeal round is scrambled.

When the Judge has a number 1 or 4 over his head while watching a Pokémon appeal, that Pokémon is indicated with the text "NEXT TURN: X", where X is the number over the Judge's head. When this happens, that Pokémon will become first or last in the turn order in the next round, depending on X. If another Pokémon uses a similar appeal and also moves to the beginning or ending, the Pokémon that appealed first will move to the next turn, and "NEXT TURN: X" will change accordingly.

When the Judge has a swirly spiral over his head while watching a Pokémon appeal, that means the Pokémon has repeated a move it used last turn. The first time a move is repeated, the Pokémon loses two hearts. The second time, it loses three hearts, and so on. There are a few moves to which this rule doesn't apply, such as Hidden Power. To prevent this from happening accidentally, the move's named used in the previous round is gray when selecting a move to appeal with.

When the Judge has a single exclamation point "!" over his head while watching a Pokémon appeal, that means a combo is possible with the move just used, and the Pokémon is indicated by a flashing red dot. If the Pokémon knows a move it can perform a combo with, its name will be red when selecting a move to appeal with.

When the Judge has a double exclamation point "!!" over his head while watching a Pokémon appeal, that means it has just performed a combo with the two previous moves it appealed with. Then, the Pokémon will receive the number of hearts double of the second move's base Appeal.

When the Judge has a star over his head while watching a Pokémon appeal, the Pokémon receives a star.

Audience
In secondary judging, the crowd's excitement over a Pokémon's appeal influences the number of hearts it earns. This is shown by the Exitement meter, a series of five ovals that may be filled or empty.

If a Pokémon uses a move whose Contest category is the same as the category of the Contest it is participating in and the Excitement meter is below five, the meter increases by one, and the Pokémon receives one more heart in its appeal.

If a Pokémon uses a move whose Contest category is disliked by the audience for the Contest it is participating in, the Excitement meter will decrease by one.

If a Pokémon uses a move, and the Exitement meter then reaches five, the Pokémon receives six more hearts in its appeal, and the Excitement meter returns to zero.

After judging
After five rounds of appealing has passed, the four Pokémon's results are shown. Here, stars represent how well the Pokémon did in the preliminary judging, and the hearts indicate how well the Pokémon did in the secondary judging; both fill up the four Pokémon's meters. The Pokémon whose meter becomes the highest is announced as the winner of the Contest, and is awarded a Ribbon. A small portrait of the winner is painted and placed in the Contest Hall. A painter will paint a large painting if the winner of a Master Rank contest wins with a high score. These larger paintings are displayed in the Lilycove Museum.

Contest Ranks
There are four Contest ranks: Normal Rank, Super Rank, Hyper Rank, and Master Rank, and a Contest, as well as having one of the five categories, has one of these four ranks. A Pokémon may not enter a Master Ranked Contest without having won a Hyper Rank Ribbon in the same category as the Contest, a Pokémon may not enter a Hyper Ranked Contest without having won a Super Rank Ribbon, and a Pokémon may not enter a Super Ranked Contest without having won a Normal Rank Ribbon. Any Pokémon may enter a Normal Ranked Contest.

A Contest Pass is required to enter into any Contest.

In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Normal Ranked Contests are held in the Verdanturf Town Contest Hall, Super in Fallarbor Town, Hyper in Slateport City, and Master in Lilycove City.

In Pokémon Emerald, Contests of all four ranks are held in the Lilycove City Contest Hall only. Also, the Contest Pass is not required.

Pokéblocks are used to prepare a Pokémon for Pokémon Contests by raising its condition in the category it will participate in. The better its condition, the better the Pokémon will perform in the preliminary judging.

I was actually thinking there could be a whole article about each berry, containing flavor and written tag information. I think the real fruit information could be better placed on each individual berry's page. However, we'd probably need a template for a page, or something to make them good.
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are expected to be the first true Pokémon RPG games for the Nintendo DS. Following tradition, they will bring a new land, a new batch of Pokémon (six which have already been released, Munchlax, Lucario, Bonsly, Manyula, Manene, and Manaphy), and new features, which could be many considering the capabilities of the DS.

A recent issue of CoroCoro revealed that it would be possible to trade Pokémon between the third generation Game Boy Advance and Gamecube games. The wireless WiFi capabilities of the Nintendo DS will be utilized for multiplayer funtions, with up to 16 players capable of participating. Also confirmed is that there will be a new land, as well as new type combinations for some of the new Pokémon; for example, Lucario is already confimed to be a Steel and Fighting type pokémon, a combination that has not yet existed. However, there will not be a new Pokémon element type.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are due for release in Japan sometime in 2006.
