== History ==
The wiki is founded from the desire to create a Xenoblade wiki independent from Wikia. The wiki covers not only the [[Nintendo]] published {{xsw|Xenoblade Chronicles (series)|Xenoblade Chronicles}} series, but the [[Bandai Namco]] published {{xsw|Xenosaga}} trilogy and the {{xsw|Square|Squaresoft}} developed {{xsw|Xenogears}}. Xeno Series Wiki was created on February 4, 2020, opened for editing on February 7, 2020, and finally officially launched on May 15, 2020. Xeno Series Wiki joined the [[Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance|NIWA]] on March 13, 2021, making it the twenty-fifth wiki to join the alliance.

==History==
On July 12, 2010, Animal Crossing Wiki was founded on the (now defunct) animalcrossingforums.net by Jake and Leem01. It was affiliated with the [[Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance]] from early in its creation. After a database error with no backup caused a large data loss, it reopened on October 23, 2010.

Not long after its reopening, members from Animal Crossing City approached Jake to merge their wiki contents to Animal Crossing Wiki, in large part thanks to a skin change that their wiki host Wikia (now {{wp|Fandom (company)|Fandom}}) was pursuing. Initially, Animal Crossing City were to move to the wiki farm ShoutWiki. Shortly after doing so, Animal Crossing City got in contact with the [[Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance]], and decided on a merge with Animal Crossing Wiki. The merge took place in late 2010. Shortly after, on November 19, 2010, Animal Crossing Wiki joined the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance.

On December 31, 2010, the wiki changed its name to Nookipedia, a portmanteau of their mascot {{np|Tom Nook}} (a major character in the ''Animal Crossing'' series) and encyclopedia. The website had also been redone in the process. The wiki obtained a new logo around its 10th anniversary of its independence, and the wiki has become a prominent contributor to the {{np|Community:ACNH Spreadsheet|ACNH Spreadsheet}}, a comprehensive spreadsheet of all the items in ''{{np|Animal Crossing: New Horizons}}''.

==History==
Zelda Wiki was originally founded as Zelda Universe Wiki by {{zw|User:GoldenChaos|Jess Rappaport}} for the website Zelda Universe. It quickly grew to contain information related to ''The Legend of Zelda'', before the website crashed following a server move. After it was moved to a new server, the wiki adopted the name "Zelda Wiki.org" and became a collaborative project between several different ''Zelda'' sites. After many major Zelda sites choose to leave and the only masterminds were small ''Zelda'' sites, it was reorganized under an independent structure.

Its founder, Jess Rappaport, was also the one that approached [[User:Archaic|Archaic]] and {{smw|User:Porplemontage|Porplemontage}} over forming an alliance together. Together the group founded the [[Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance]], overseeing the growth of the alliance as various wikis joined the group during the Fandom migration.

On March 8, 2017, Zelda Wiki became part of Gamepedia, a wiki-farm hosting gaming wikis. Gamepedia was acquired by {{wp|Fandom (website)|Fandom}} in 2018, bringing various Gamepedia wikis under the same roof as other Fandom wikis, including Fandom's own {{zw|Community:Zeldapedia|Zeldapedia}}. As a result, Zelda Wiki's status in the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance caused contention due to its acquisition by Fandom, the same wikifarm that the alliance wanted to get away from. On June 15, 2019, Zeldapedia agreed to merge their userbase into Zelda Wiki. By 2021, the wiki has received a new skin known as FandomDesktop, and a new domain name.

On October 19, 2022, Zelda Wiki officially announced its independence from Fandom, temporarily renaming itself as Zeldapedia (the name used previously by the Fandom-operated wiki before it was merged into Zelda Wiki), and moved the site to a new domain, zeldapedia.wiki.<ref>[https://twitter.com/ZeldaWiki/status/1582831405142528000 Tweet by @ZeldaWiki].
