This is one of two glitches in [[Generation IV]] [http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/adpj/info/index.html?C officially acknowledged by Nintendo], with the other being the [[surf glitch]]. In Diamond or Pearl, after entering the Union Room on the second floor of the Pokémon League building, when the player goes up to the second floor of a Pokémon Center, the player will end up in a wall and not be able to return.

In the case where the player has not saved the game while trapped, it is possible to [http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/adpj/info/how_to_recover.html work around this bug]:

#Restart the game from the previous save state.
#Go to the [[Pokémon Super Contest|Super Contest Hall]] in [[Hearthome City]].

===Dress-up Hiker glitch===
The glitch only occurs in {{game|Diamond and Pearl|s}}. When talking to the {{tc|Hiker}} at [[Jubilife TV]] who allows Pokémon to be dressed up, if a button on the D-pad is pressed so that the {{player}} is facing away from the Hiker just before the screen to select which Pokémon will be dressed up opens, the player will not walk on the set path; this can lead to walking through walls or the Hiker, or canceling the action altogether.

===Hat in wall glitch===
In {{game|Diamond and Pearl|s}}, if the player plays as {{ga|Dawn}} and faces right, directly against a wall, the peak of the hat will be in the wall.

===Honey shop glitch===
This glitch is only present in {{game|Diamond and Pearl|s}}. This is caused by the {{player}} using {{m|Sweet Scent}} or [[Honey]] in a [[Poké Mart]]. When the player talks to the shopkeeper and selects "buy", no names or descriptions for any of the [[item]]s in stock will be displayed.

===Silent Route 214 glitch===
This glitch occurs in {{2v2|Diamond|Pearl}} if the player goes onto [[Spring Path]] off {{rt|214|Sinnoh}}, where the music changes. If the player views the TM & HM section of the bag, closes it, then returns to Route 214, there will be no music. Sound effects such as collision sounds still occur and if the player encounters a wild Pokémon, the normal battle music will play. The same glitch can also be activated by changing the music so that it is not the default in any other way. For example, by using the Bicycle.

In {{2v2|Diamond|Pearl}}, if the player achieves a 20 battle streak in the [[Battle Tower]] and battles the {{tc|Tower Tycoon}} by choosing the option "REST" and then the option "NO" instead of choosing the option "KEEP GOING", a normal Trainer will appear instead; with the same roster of the Tower Tycoon. Interestingly, this Trainer gives the unused dialogue "Now come! Show me, the Tower Tycoon, what you're really made of!" If this Trainer is defeated, the player will receive 1 BP instead of the normal 20 BP.

===Transform held item glitch===
In Japanese versions of Diamond and Pearl, if a Pokémon [[Held item|holding an item]] uses {{m|Transform}} and has its item stolen, as long as it does not faint before the end of the battle, both the transforming Pokémon and the thief will retain the item after the battle.

===U-turn Choice glitch===
In {{game|Diamond and Pearl|s}}, if {{m|U-turn}} is used to change to a Pokémon holding a [[Choice item]] that also knows the move U-turn, that Pokémon will be forced to use U-turn despite not having used a move.

===Level display glitch===
In early releases of the US version of Platinum, when seeking for Pokémon on the [[Global Terminal|GTS]], the game will not display the level range of the wanted Pokémon. This can result in confusion, where even if a person has the right Pokémon to offer, but it is not at the right level, it will not able to be selected without any clear reason.

This glitch is not present in the PAL releases or the original Japanese, indicating that it was mistakenly left out in the North American version. Nintendo offers a fix for it by sending in an affected game.

===Route 227 Underground glitch===
In {{game|Platinum}}, going [[The Underground|underground]] on {{rt|227|Sinnoh}} between {{rt|226|Sinnoh}} and the horizontal row with the first patch of [[tall grass]], then coming back up will cause the player to be partly in the ground. Leaving this area causes the player to return to normal.

In {{game2|Diamond|Pearl|Platinum}}, {{HM|05|Defog}} appears as a {{type|Water}} HM rather than a {{type|Flying}} one. However, in {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, HM05 was replaced with a Water-type move, {{m|Whirlpool}}.

===Pal Park manipulation===

Allows the player to migrate any number of Pokémon via the [[Pal Park]], this is used to overcome the 6 Pokémon per 24 hours limit.

===Underground item duplication glitch===
The Underground item duplication glitch is a glitch that occurs in Generation IV in [[the Underground]], it is possible to "clone" a Goods item between two players. There is a chance of losing the item if both players do not follow directions properly.

To clone a goods item, one player must always give the item, and the other must always receive. This cloning glitch can be repeated indefinitely. To clone, one player must give the other an item. The player who gave the item turns the game off without saving, but the receiver should save the game. If the cloning was successful, both players should have the item. However, there is a chance that the cloning will not work and the item will be lost.

Another variation on this glitch can be used to "clone" traps. By having one player place a trap(s) and having the other player pick up the traps and saving, if the first player resets his game without saving both players will have the trap(s).

==In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver==
===Ace Trainer Kate glitch===
In {{2v2|HeartGold|SoulSilver}}, there is a slight glitch with {{tc|Ace Trainer}} Kate on {{rt|34|Johto}}. She will only battle with the player if they walk straight down the path. If the player walks to either side of her, she will apologize as she would after the player has defeated her. If the player walks down the path towards her after talking to her on the side she will somehow see them while facing the wrong way and then battle.

===Boulder glitch===
In the Japanese version of {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, a boulder in [[Slowpoke Well]] can be {{m|Strength|pushed}} over a ledge into the water. The boulder (unlike in {{v2|FireRed and LeafGreen|s}}) will act as if it was on dry land. The boulder was removed in international releases.

===Floating walking Pokémon===
In {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, having a {{status|poison}}ed [[walking Pokémon]] walk away from a [[ledge]] but simultaneously survive the poisoning causes it to float in the air until the player jumps off of a ledge again, or uses the move {{m|Surf}} or {{m|Fly}}.

===Indigo Plateau guard glitch===
This glitch only occurs in {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}. If the player attempts to enter the [[GS Cup]] in the [[Indigo Plateau]] Wireless Club and checks the list of special Pokémon, the guard blocking the Elite Four entrance will not move until the player re-enters the room.

===Invisible grass===
In {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, three tiles on {{rt|44|Johto}} and four tiles in the Swamp area of the {{safari|Johto}} appear to be empty, but when the player or the [[walking Pokémon]] is standing on the tiles, [[tall grass]] will appear underfoot. This grass appears between the top of the grass and the water on Route 44, and between the rightmost lake and the grass in the Safari Zone. [[Wild Pokémon]] may be encountered in this grass, and Safari Zone objects may not be placed on it.

===Pokéwalker cloning glitch===
When a Pokémon is successfully transferred to the [[Pokéwalker]] but the game is turned off before saving, the Pokémon would appear in both the Pokéwalker and the [[Pokémon storage system|PC Box]] it was in prior to the transfer. However, attempting to bring the Pokémon in the Pokéwalker back into the game would cause it to be released into the wild, even if the original Pokémon does not exist in the game any more, such as being traded or released. This is because the data of the Pokémon that was transferred was not saved onto the game, thus the game will not recognize the Pokémon that is on the Pokéwalker and release it. (The game only recognizes Pokémon caught from the Pokéwalker and the Pokémon's data that is stored in the game after the transfer. This is to prevent external or third-party devices from 'sending' Pokémon onto the game.)

==In Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver==
===3D problems===
In {{3v2|HeartGold|SoulSilver|Platinum}}, standing in certain places in areas such as the [[Great Marsh]], [[Ribbon Syndicate]], or the [[Fight Area]] may cause the foliage or walls to bend and merge into other graphics near them. This is most likely because they run on a 3D game engine.

===Corrupted save file cloning glitch===
Sometimes, when a game's save file gets corrupted, the Pokémon in that save file are kept. When this happens, the game can still be saved, but the save file will be unable to be loaded. With the assistance of another [[Nintendo DS]] and Generation IV game, the Pokémon can be traded from the corrupted game. After the trade is completed, if the game is reset, the Pokémon traded from the corrupted game will be in both games, but the other traded Pokémon will be lost.

===Fire Fang glitch===
In Generation IV, {{m|Fire Fang}} affects Pokémon with {{a|Wonder Guard}}, even if it is used on a Pokémon that does not have a weakness to {{type|Fire}} moves. This does not apply to {{m|Ice Fang}} and {{m|Thunder Fang}}. This was corrected in Generation V.

===GTS cloning glitch===
In [[Generation IV]], a {{pkmn|cloning}} method reminiscent of the methods from the first two generations appeared, involving the use of the [[Global Terminal|GTS]]. If the Pokémon is deposited in the GTS and the connection is interrupted at the right time, the Pokémon in question would be in the player's [[party]] or [[Pokémon storage system|PC box]] and in the GTS, requiring the {{player}} only to withdraw the Pokémon from the GTS to obtain the clone. In [[Pokémon Platinum Version]], however, the glitch of cloning via GTS was removed; if it is attempted, the game simply reports a communication error and returns the player back to the main desk.

===Kadabra trade glitch===
If a {{p|Kadabra}} is traded while it is holding an [[Everstone]], it will still evolve into {{p|Alakazam}}.

===Morphing glitch===

There have been somewhat numerous reports of a [[glitch]] happening in the [[Global Terminal|GTS]] that causes a player's offered Pokémon to become "glitchy". The Pokémon's sprite will morph into a different Pokémon, and the gender might be swapped as well. It will also say it is the same species it used to be (example: A morphed Heatran would still be Heatran/Heatran) and will be holding a {{DL|List of dummied out items|Seal Bag}}, a beta item. There is no confirmed way to deliberately access this glitch; however in many of the reports, people have claimed that the glitch happened right after the GTS came up with no searches for any of the Pokémon, but did not send out a Communication Error. After it stops blocking all access to other Pokémon, it is believed that is when the glitch is most likely to happen. Trying to withdraw the glitch Pokémon may result in a Communication Error but when the game lets a player withdraw the glitch, the Pokémon returns to normal.

Another glitch similar to the morphing glitch has been happening where the Pokémon in the GTS is morphed into the wanted Pokémon (as shown in the picture to the right). Instead of its name being the same as before, its name is now that of the wanted Pokémon, but still the same species as the Pokémon originally offered. There's also the possibility of the morphed Pokémon holding a {{DL|List of dummied out items|Seal Bag}}. Most of the time, trying to trade for it will either cause a communication error or say that the Pokémon has been traded. In addition to this glitch, sometimes these glitched Pokémon will be the only that appear when searching for Pokémon of a certain level.

===Pal Park nickname/Trainer name glitch===

In foreign versions of Pokémon, if a Pokémon has a non-English, non-Japanese character (for example, á, é, í, ó, ú, etc.) in either its [[nickname]] or [[original Trainer]] name, and it is sent through [[Pal Park]], those characters will become corrupt and turn into random kana.

In most circumstances, this is not a problem, since in foreign (such as Spanish) versions of Pokémon prior to Generation IV, when naming the player or nicknaming a Pokémon, the character set is restricted to English characters. However, there are a few in-game trades where non-English characters appear in either the original Trainer name or nickname, and a few preset Trainer names also contain non-English characters. For example, in {{2v2|FireRed|LeafGreen}}, there is a Trainer in [[Cinnabar Island]] who offers a {{p|Seel}} for a {{p|Ponyta}}, and in Spanish versions, the Seel given to the player is nicknamed SEELÍN. When this Pokémon is transferred through Pal Park, the Í is corrupted and becomes the kana コ, changing the nickname to SEELコN.

===Trade cloning glitch===
In [[Generation IV]], if a player is trading Pokémon and one of the [[Nintendo DS]] systems is turned off at a certain time, the Pokémon that was traded to the game that was not turned off will appear in both player's parties. However, this glitch is very difficult to perform and quite commonly corrupts save data. There are reports that this method is effective in the [[Generation V]] games, but such reports are unconfirmed.

===Trade evolution glitch===
In Generation IV there is a glitch with the [[Global Terminal|GTS]] that allows Pokémon to evolve by being traded, but without actually trading them. Players must first place a {{cat|Pokémon that evolve through trading|Pokémon that evolves by trading it}} (with the correct held item, like {{DL|Type-enhancing item|Metal Coat}} for {{p|Scyther}} or {{DL|Evolution-inducing held item|Electirizer}} for {{p|Electabuzz}}) onto the GTS. To prevent the deposited Pokémon from being traded away, players should request an impossible trade, such as a [[level]] 9 and under {{p|Mewtwo}}.

The player must then search for a Pokémon on the GTS and trade for it. After this has been done, returning to the Pokémon that was placed on the GTS by the player and taking it back will cause it to evolve.

It is possible that this was intentional, however due to the fact that it was removed in Generation V makes this very unlikely. The risk of not being able to reacquire a Pokémon while trying to evolve it through trade evolution over the GTS is very great and this could have been a planned countermeasure. The requirement (a trade) must still be met in order for the Pokémon to evolve, but this system would prevent a player from potentially losing the Pokémon they wanted to evolve.

===Vanishing glitch===
There have also been instances of a "vanishing" glitch on the [[Global Terminal|GTS]]. After uploading a Pokémon to the server and checking its summary without changing the Pokémon, the "summary" button is sometimes replaced with "deposit," suggesting that the Pokémon has been traded. Selecting "Deposit" will cause a communication error, and the player will return to the front desk. Logging on to the server again will cause the Pokémon to reappear, with no noticeable changes.

====Life Orb glitch====

The animation for {{m|Heat Wave}} activates after the [[Life Orb]] recoil rather than before it. This means that if a Pokémon used Heat Wave with at most 10% of its {{stat|HP}} left, it would faint and the Heat Wave animation would seemingly come out of nowhere.

====Mystery Gift exploit====
Although only one [[Mystery Gift]] is intended to be received by the player through its 300 seconds of transmission, there is nothing to stop a player with another [[Nintendo DS]] and a different game card from receiving the same gift. For example, when purchasing a [[Salac Berry]] for 19,200 [[Poké Coupons]] and receiving it on one game card, another player with a different DS can quickly use their game to receive a copy of the same Salac Berry for free, provided that the 300 seconds haven't ended.

There are many glitches which are often called the Transform glitch, I can think of around three:

#In Generations I to II, if the opponent uses Transform, when caught that Pokémon will always be Ditto regardless of the original species.
#In Generation II (also called the Sketch glitch), you can make any Transformed Pokémon mimic sketch and sketch any other move)

'''Magical Pokémon Journey''' (Japanese: '''ポケットモンスターＰｉＰｉＰｉ★アドベンチャー''' ''Pocket Monsters PiPiPi ★ Adventures'') is a ten-volume {{wp|shōjo}} {{pkmn|manga}} series by mangaka [[Yumi Tsukirino]]. It was serialized in the shōjo magazine [[Ciao]] and then published in collected volumes by [[Shōgakukan]] in Japan.

The story centers around a girl named [[Hazel]] who develops a crush on [[Almond]], a [[Pokémon Trainer]] from whom she is constantly rebuffed. To receive a love potion from a scientist named [[Grandpa]] and thus gain Almond's affection, Hazel agrees to catch Pokémon for his research.

This series chronicles Hazel's attempts to make Almond like her, as well as her friendship with several Pokémon she meets — mainly {{MPJ|Pikachu}}, {{MPJ|Clefairy}}, and {{MPJ|Jigglypuff}} (Pikachu, {{tt|Pippi|Clefairy}}, and {{tt|Purin|Jigglypuff}}, for whom the series was named) — and her rivalry with Grandpa's granddaughter, [[Coconut]]. Gradually, the focus of the series shifts away from collecting Pokémon and more to the relationship between Hazel and Almond, as well as the relationships between other human characters, between Pokémon, and the friendships of both humans and Pokémon.

In North America, the first forty-three chapters of the manga were published in monthly issues of two to three chapters each by [[VIZ Media]]. These chapters were later rereleased as into seven collected volumes. VIZ Media's translation of Magical Pokémon Journey was printed in a left-to-right format with reversed artwork, as this was how manga was typically localized to Western countries at the time of its release. VIZ Media's translation of Magical Pokémon Journey was available in the United States, {{pmin|Canada}}, England, {{pmin|Ireland}} and South Africa; however, it is currently out of print.

[[Chuang Yi]] has also released a translation of the series, continuing to the end of [[Magical Pokémon Journey volume 10|volume ten]], past where VIZ Media ended their translation. Unlike VIZ Media's translation, Chuang Yi's version of Magical Pokémon Journey is still available in print. Like VIZ Media's, Chaung Yi's translation is in a left-to-right format with reversed artwork. It was serialized in the shōjo magazine [[Ciao]] and then published in collected volumes by [[Shōgakukan]] in Japan.

The story centers around a girl named [[Hazel]] who develops a crush on [[Almond]], a [[Pokémon Trainer]] from whom she is constantly rebuffed. To receive a love potion from a scientist named [[Grandpa]] and thus gain Almond's affection, Hazel agrees to catch Pokémon for his research.

This series chronicles Hazel's attempts to make Almond like her, as well as her friendship with several Pokémon she meets — mainly {{MPJ|Pikachu}}, {{MPJ|Clefairy}}, and {{MPJ|Jigglypuff}} (Pikachu, {{tt|Pippi|Clefairy}}, and {{tt|Purin|Jigglypuff}}, for whom the series was named) — and her rivalry with Grandpa's granddaughter, [[Coconut]]. Gradually, the focus of the series shifts away from collecting Pokémon and more to the relationship between Hazel and Almond, as well as the relationships between other human characters, between Pokémon, and the friendships of both humans and Pokémon.

In North America, the first forty-three chapters of the manga were published in monthly issues of two to three chapters each by [[VIZ Media]]. These chapters were later rereleased as into seven collected volumes. VIZ Media's translation of Magical Pokémon Journey was printed in a left-to-right format with reversed artwork, as this was how manga was typically localized to Western countries at the time of its release. VIZ Media's translation of Magical Pokémon Journey was available in the United States, {{pmin|Canada}}, England, {{pmin|Ireland}} and South Africa; however, it is currently out of print.

[[Chuang Yi]] has also released a translation of the series, continuing to the end of [[Magical Pokémon Journey volume 10|volume ten]], past where VIZ Media ended their translation. It first aired in Japan on April 21, 2011, and is scheduled to air in the United States on August 13, 2011.

==Synopsis==
The episode begins with {{Ash}} being introduced to a Trainer by the name of [[Stephan]] who stated that despite only just starting his journey, is motivated in his abilities as a Trainer and challenges Ash to a battle. Ash confidently accepted Stephan's challenge, pronouncing his name incorrectly. Stephan brushes off this error, and sends out his {{p|Blitzle}}. Ash scans Blitzle with his Pokédex and had decided to use {{AP|Pikachu}}, but {{AP|Oshawott}} lets himself out of his Poké Ball and begs Ash to let him battle instead. Ash is initially concerned at the type disadvantage, but Oshawott ensures him that he'll be alright with his scalchop to which Ash agrees and lets Oshawott battle. Surprised at Ash's choice in Pokémon, Stephan thought Ash wasn't taking him seriously and ordered Blitzle to use {{m|Shock Wave}}. Oshawott managed to deflect it with his scalchop, catching Blitzle and Stephan off guard but coming as no surprise to {{an|Cilan}} and {{an|Iris}}. Stephan then decided to use a direct attack and had Blitzle use {{m|Flame Charge}}, which Oshawott attempted to counter with {{m|Aqua Jet}}, but still wasn't able to aim properly. Blitzle stops and watches in awe as Oshawott flew straight into a boulder. Ash stated his disappointment in Oshawott as Stephan and Blitzle stood by, clearly confused at Oshawott's strange Aqua Jet. Once recovered, Oshawott used {{m|Razor Shell}}, which Blitzle countered with {{m|Double Kick}}, and ended up sending Oshawott's scalchop flying off into the distance. Horrified, Oshawott ran after it as fast as he could. Ash demanded a time out while he went to find Oshawott's scalchop, and Cilan claims that it's fair that Oshawott fled the battle considering the scalchop is theoretically part of its body. Frustrated, Stephan shouted that he didn't have time to wait for Ash to find it, and Cilan suggested that Stephan go about his business and that he and Ash could pick up the battle the following day. Stephan took Cilan's advice and informed them that he would be camping nearby awaiting a rematch.

Troubled, Oshawott searched the grassy fields at the foot of a mountain for his scalchop when he noticed a twinkle in the corner of his eye. Joyfully, he ran over to the sparkle, but it turned out to be merely a bottle cap. He angrily threw it on the ground just as Ash and {{AP|Pikachu}} had caught up to him. He offered to help Oshawott search for his scalchop, which made the Sea Otter Pokémon very happy. As the three of them searched, Ash noticed something sparkling in some tall grass and pointed it out to Oshawott, who went off to fetch it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a wild {{p|Joltik}} that wasn't happy that Oshawott had picked it up, and zapped him. Ash had Pikachu knock it off Oshawott with {{m|Iron Tail}} and then scanned the Attaching Pokémon with his Pokédex before it retreated back into the grass. Oshawott became saddened that they had yet to find his scalchop, but Ash reassured him that they wouldn't stop looking until they found his scalchop. Cilan and Iris had finally caught up to them, and Ash asked what the situation with Stephan was, which Iris responded that he would have a rematch the next day. Cilan became concerned on the condition of the battle if Oshawott wasn't able to find his scalchop in time, so Iris vowed to help Oshawott out and ran toward some trees. She then called him over and offered an [[Iapapa Berry]] to him as a substitute scalchop. Cilan chuckled at the resemblance the Iapapa berry had to a scalchop, and Oshawott agreed to test it out against Pikachu. Unfortunately it wasn't strong enough and ended up being roasted by {{m|Thunderbolt}}. Despite being disappointed that her plan had failed, Iris, Cilan, and Axew took a bite of the cooked Iapapa berry and were surprised that it was delicious once electrocuted. Ash told them to be more serious in this time of crisis, so Cilan offered to let Oshawott use his food cloche as a substitute. This too failed as the cloche was metal and actually conducted the Thunderbolt. Cilan began sobbing over his now scorched cloche, but coped with it quickly and called out his {{TP|Cilan|Dwebble}}. He then asked Dwebble to carve Oshawott a scalchop out of stone for him, and Dwebble immediately got to work, much to Oshawott's joy.

Dwebble made quick work out of a boulder, but the new scalchop ended up being as tall as Oshawott himself. Oshawott was willing to give it a try, so they tried it out against Pikachu's Thunderbolt. However, it turned out that Oshawott could barely even pick up the scalchop, but it did manage to defend him from Thunderbolt. But he quickly became worn out from holding it and fell over, causing the rock to crush him and knock him out. They decided to give Oshawott a break, and Ash stated that nothing but his own scalchop will work with Oshawott despite all their efforts. Iris remarks that maybe Oshawott is too dependent on his scalchop, which hurts Oshawott's feelings. Ash sides with Oshawott, saying that his scalchop is his most precious possession. Cilan then suggests that Ash try to enhance Oshawott's offense rather than his defense, using the adage: ''The best defense is a good offense''. Iris adds that in order to accomplish this, Ash should increase Oshawott's speed. Ash is concerned he won't have enough time to accomplish this task and decides to continue training using the rock scalchop. Oshawott still isn't sure in its abilities, and Iris and Cilan sympathize with him.

Ash and Oshawott then spend the day training together, carrying boulders up hills, performing push-ups, sit-ups, and practicing holding up the rock scalchop. Despite being knocked down multiple times, Oshawott continues to get back up and try his hardest. That evening, Oshawott is taking a break by a small pond, and envisions himself battling against Blitzle without his scalchop. Terrified of being shocked, he breaks out of this vision, and then mistakes the reflection of the moon against the water as his scalchop, and becomes depressed over its loss. He then remembers the inspiration Ash gave him, and he decides to do some private training. Ash and Pikachu are then seen looking for Oshawott, when Pikachu hears something. He leads Ash to a clearing where they see Oshawott training and they decide to join him. They train into the wee hours of the night, until Oshawott finally manages to carry his stone scalchop on his own.

The next day they anxiously wait for Stephan where they met him yesterday. However after waiting for a while, they decide to go look for him. They eventually find Stephan's camping spot where he is riding on what looks like an exercise bike with lighting rods on it. As Stephan pedals faster, the machine charges electricity which is then absorbed by his Blitzle. He stepped off the machine and told Ash he was just finishing his and Blitzle's morning training and that he was about to go looking for them. He then explained that he uses the machine to make sure Blitzle is in perfect form before their day begins. With their morning schedule complete, he challenged Ash to another battle. Blitzle starts off using Shock Wave which Oshawott manages to deflect with his stone scalchop. Stephan then ordered Blitzle to use Shock Wave again, but this time with full power. A powerful bolt of lighting struck the scalchop, and caused it to crack. Blitzle then charged towards Oshawott and used Double Kick, shattering the stone scalchop into pieces. Blitzle then launched another Shock Wave, and Oshawott attempted to defend itself with a piece of the broken scalchop, but his attempt was futile and he was still shocked. With some quick thinking, Ash remembers Cilan's advice from the day before about boosting Oshawott's offense, so he orders Oshawott to use {{m|Tackle}}. Blitzle counters with Shock Wave, but Oshawott quickly dashes towards the Electrified Pokémon, and manages to evade its attacks and land a hit on it. Oshawott takes a moment in astonishment at his new found speed, and Cilan discovers that by training with the heavy stone scalchop, Oshawott managed to increase his speed and power after all. Oshawott continued with numerous Tackle attacks, and Blitzle attempted to counter-attack with Double Kick, but Oshawott easily avoids it. Stephan then has Blitzle use Flame Charge repeatedly, which allows it to catch up to Oshawott. It then corners Oshawott against a tree, and Stephan orders it to finish off Oshawott with Flame Charge. Desperate, Ash commands Oshawott to use Aqua Jet, but he still flies off target. To make up for this, Blitzle followed close behind Oshawott and the two ended up colliding and crash into a large boulder, sending both Pokémon flying and landed in front of their respective Trainers. Blitzle is instantly knocked out, but Oshawott manages to get back on his feet, winning Ash the battle. Ash picks up Oshawott and congratulated him on overcoming his disability as Stephan recalled his Blitzle and thanked it for its effort. Stephan then approached Ash and congratulated him on his victory and vowed to battle him again some day, and the two shook on it, forming a new friendship. Axew suddenly appears from the forest holding Oshawott's scalchop. Oshawott jumped down from Ash's arms and received his scalchop from Axew. Exhausted and relieved, Oshawott collapses into Ash's arms and falls asleep, holding on tightly to his scalchop, ending the episode.

Can someone please tell me how can I get the different maps of the locations in Generation I? It's because between RG, B, and Y, they're different. == Gen IV maps ==

I think there are quite a few maps from Gen IV which generally suck. And by suck, I am of course referring to maps which are not at 1:1 ratio, maps which are incredibly blurry, maps which were blatantly scanned out of some guide, maps which are scribbled over, maps which have massive JPEG compression artifacts, etc. My suggestion: look at some of {{u|Cadellin}}'s maps, and consider that quality to be your goal when making maps. To start this off, I will be posting a new map of [[Eterna Forest]] either tonight or tomorrow morning (it's currently just past 11 o'clock here). Yes, I know Cadellin made the old map, but it was not very good quality. Definitely not his/her best work. Still, his/her other work is absolutely beautiful. See [[Valley Windworks]] for an example. But there are more than two worlds, the one from PMD (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon)Red/Blue, and now the ones from PMD Time/Darkness/Sky. So, they have to be distinguishable from one game to the next, otherwise, it would be a mess. Sky needs ALOT of updating on Sky peak.

==Accessory items that pokemon can pick up at (location) - HG/SS==

This kind of goes for Project Routes too, but I've noticed that in HG/SS the pokemon that's walking with you, when you talk to it, will sometimes give you an accessory item. I've been playing it for a while and, from what I've seen, what it gives you depends on the route/location you're in. I think it'd be really convenient if there were a section for what the pokemon will pick up in the specific location, just like there's usually one for non-accessory items that can be found at said location. I'd be willing to help with this, too, as I already know some of the things you always find in certain locations. And with the help of the Accessory page, I can find out their official English translations (I'm playing the Japanese version, lol). Hi all, I'm new around here, but not to wikis in general. I have loads of trainer data for generations I-III including all of the rematch information for generation III. I noticed that only the first encounters with trainers is usually listed on each location page. Is there interest in adding rematch data at some point? It would seem consistent to do something similar to what is done with the different movesets among generations, i.e. make a sub-page for each generation's rematches. I've noticed that there seems to be a different format for the articles between games. In the articles on MD1 locations, when the dungeon is split into parts they each have separate articles. For example, [[Rock Path]], [[Mt. Blaze]] and [[Mt. Blaze Peak]]. On the other hand, the MD2 locations have those all lumped together. For example, [[Mt. Horn|Rock Path and Mt. Horn]] or [[Quicksand Cave|Quicksand Cave and Quicksand Pit]]. They should all be consistent, so which is the preferred style? I am wondering if someone with more insight can clarify exactly what to do for these Orre Colosseums/Stadiums articles (there are 7 of them - see the bottom of [[Phenac Stadium]] and browse the "Colosseums" section to see what I am referring to). The most complete seems to be the actual [[Orre Colosseum]], but it still seems to be missing some organization. Each of these 7 articles are location-related, but I do not see them, or their region Orre, specifically outlined on the [[Bulbapedia:Project_Locations|Project Locations]] page. For example, they are not mentioned under the [[Bulbapedia:Project_Locations#Categories|Categories]], and neither is Orre, as opposed to the GB line of games. Should we have a new template for them, or just use a pre-existing one, such as the "Infobox location" template, as used on [[Orre Colosseum]]? I can get to work on refining these if someone with proper experience/knowledge can point me in the right direction. == Synopsis ==
After earning the {{Badge|Thunder}}, {{Ash}} and {{ashfr|his friends}} walk across a bridge and spot a luxury liner in the distance. The group takes a closer look at the ship and they want to get on board, but {{an|Brock}} mentions that they cannot afford it, so they walk away sullen. However, [[Jessie]] and [[James]], in disguise as {{wp|ganguro}} girls, give them tickets to get on board to participate in a [[Pokémon Trainer]] party on board the [[S.S. Anne|St. Anne]]. While they look for the luxury liner, Jessie and James head to a nearby lighthouse to meet up with {{MTR}}. Meowth opens up a call with {{an|Giovanni|the boss}} and Meowth notices a {{TP|Giovanni|Persian}} hugging up to the boss, replacing Meowth due to the group’s constant failure. [[Team Rocket]] reveals the plan about the party being a ruse to allow Team Rocket to steal {{OBP|Pokémon|species}}.

Ash and his friends get on board the ship and head into the main ballroom, noticing all the people, Pokémon and merchandise. Ash notices a {{pkmn|battle}} between a {{p|Starmie}} and a {{p|Raticate}}. Raticate uses {{m|Super Fang}} to break Starmie's jewel, giving Raticate the win. Ash decides to step forward to challenge the {{tc|Gentleman|Raticate’s Trainer}}, sending {{AP|Butterfree}} out. Raticate attacks with {{m|Hi Jump Kick}}, but Butterfree counts with {{m|Tackle}}. Raticate uses {{m|Hyper Fang}}, but Butterfree uses {{m|Stun Spore}} to {{Status|Paralysis|paralyze}} it. Ash prepares to finish the duel, but the Gentleman recalls his Raticate and declares it a draw even though Ash was winning. Meanwhile, James walks by the vendors. A [[Magikarp salesman|salesman]] calls him over and convinces him to buy a [[List of Pokémon temporarily owned by Team Rocket#Gyarados|Magikarp]], thinking that the Pokémon is worth a lot of money.

The ship sails out of [[Vermilion City]] as Ash and his friends chow down. The Gentleman comes up to Ash and commends his Butterfree. He proposes a [[trade]] between his Raticate and Ash's Butterfree. Ash asks Brock if he should go through with it, but Brock is too attracted to the woman next to him, so Ash goes through with the trade. They go to a trade machine and execute the trade. Ash acquires {{AP|Raticate}} while the man gets Butterfree. Jessie and Meowth confront James about buying the weak Magikarp. James tells them that it's a "gold mine" Pokémon, even its Poké Ball is gold, but Meowth scratches it showing James that it's spray painted gold. Jessie asks James how he afforded that, and James reveals that the advance on his salary was to low so he took Jessie’s salary advance to buy it, which makes her angry and she runs after him and forces him to return the Magikarp. Meanwhile, {{an|Misty}} finds Ash looking out at sea, having second doubts about the trade and unsure if Butterfree will be taken care off. He mentions that as the trade was happening, he remembered the experiences he shared with Butterfree.

Team Rocket's plan goes into motion, the ballroom being locked down and {{tc|Team Rocket Grunt}}s confronting the Trainers. The grunts use vacuums to capture the [[Poké Ball]]s. When one of the grunts walks up to Ash and demands his Pokémon, Ash orders {{AP|Pikachu}} to attack the thugs with {{m|ThunderShock}}. He spurs the other Trainers to fight back, everyone sending out Pokémon. Ash’s Pikachu, {{AP|Charmander}}, {{AP|Bulbasaur}} and [[Brock's Geodude]] join with other Pokémon in stopping the Team Rocket thugs. Ash notices a Butterfree swarm attacking with Stun Spore and decides to summon his Butterfree. However, the Poké Ball reveals his Raticate as Misty reminds him that he traded Butterfree. As he watches, Ash deeply misses his Butterfree, remembering his experiences with it and wanting it back.

Ash sends out {{AP|Pidgeotto}} to join others in a group {{m|Gust}} attack. The Pikachu group uses {{m|Thunderbolt}} to send Team Rocket flying off the ship and foiling the attack. However, the ship has sailed directly into a storm, strong waves battering the ship. James drops the Poké Ball holding Magikarp and runs after it. Meanwhile, Ash finds the man and requests the trade reversed. The man agrees and executes a reverse trade. The captain tries to call the passengers and assures them that the ship is unsinkable. Another wave crashes against the ship as the captain goes down in a lifeboat. The passengers quickly scramble onto the lifeboats to evacuate. Misty and Brock find Ash finishing the trade. Ash grabs his Poké Ball, but another wave causes him to drop it. Ash runs after it as his friends follow. Most of the passengers get off the ship safely. Ash grabs Butterfree’s Poké Ball as the ship rocks again, throwing Ash and his friends into another room and knocking them out. James gets Magikarp’s Poké Ball as another wave sends them flying against a wall, knocking them out as well. The ship capsizes and goes down as the captain assumes that everyone is safe, not knowing that Ash and his friends are on board, as well as Team Rocket.

* This is the first episode in which Ash is seen making a Pokémon trade.

* While there wasn't an attack by Team Rocket on the ship in the games, an undercover [[Global Police]] officer mentions he is on the trail of Team Rocket, hinting that there may be an attack.

===Butterfree===
{{p|Butterfree}} was one of the first Pokémon shown in the game, being the first one to ask the player's help to rescue her baby Caterpie from the bottom of Tiny Woods.

===Caterpie===
{{p|Caterpie}} was the first Pokémon rescued by the player and their partner, falling into [[Tiny Woods]]. After this, Caterpie made appearances around town, later appearing to ask the team to save his friend, Metapod. ===Gardevoir===
{{p|Gardevoir}} first appears in the player's dreams, giving them information. Later, it is revealed that Gardevoir took a curse laid upon its master, who pulled the tail of Ninetales. This caused Gardevoir to be sealed away. The player helps Gengar free Gardevoir from the curse, erasing all memories of before the curse. Gardevoir offers to join the player's team the next day.

===Granbull===
{{p|Granbull}} was once a {{p|Snubbull}}, found in Pokémon Square. However, he discovered [[Luminous Cave|a cave]], which evolved him into a Granbull.

{{p|Jirachi}} is found at the end of Wish Cave. If the player has a Wish Stone, it may grant the player a wish. If the player does not request a wish, Jirachi will join the player's team.

===Jumpluff===
Two {{p|Jumpluff}} are found in the game. The first one is seen pleading to Shiftry to help save its friend, who is also a Jumpluff. The same one later comes to the team for help when Shiftry doesn't return, and they must go to [[Silent Chasm]]. Here, it is shown that the Jumpluff was saved, but Shiftry was in trouble for breaking a cloud with Zapdos in it.

===Kangaskhan===

===Kecleon Brothers===
The {{p|Kecleon}} Brothers run the item shop in Pokémon Square. The younger brother is a regular coloration and sells [[Food (Mystery Dungeon)|food]], [[throwing item]]s, and equipment, while the older brother is purple and sells [[Wonder Orb]]s, [[TM]]s, and [[Key]]s.

===Latias===
{{p|Latias}} was injured and fell into [[Pitfall Valley]]. As requested by her brother, the player rescues her using the Teleport Gem. After this is done, both Latias and Latios join the player's team.

===Latios===
{{p|Latios}} first was seen stealing from the Kecleon shop. After being found, he told them that he was trying to save [[#Latias|his sister]]. After she is saved, he and Latias will join the team.

===Legendary Beasts===
The legendary beasts must each be battled [[The Mystery of the Mirage Pokémon|during the search for Ho-Oh]]. {{p|Entei}} is first and upon defeat turns the Clear Wing into the Red Wing. {{p|Raikou}} is second and turns the Red Wing into the Sunset Wing upon defeat. {{p|Suicune}} is last and upon defeat turns the Sunset Wing into the Rainbow Wing, which can then be used to reach {{p|Ho-Oh}}.

===Lombre===
{{p|Lombre}} is one of the Pokémon in [[Pokémon Square]].

===Magnemite===
{{p|Magnemite}} is the target of the second rescue mission in the game. Two Magnemite have stuck together and got lost in [[Thunderwave Cave]], and must be rescued by the player. A third waits outside while the player does this. Once Friend Areas are unlocked, one of the Magnemite rescued joins the team. The other two remain in Pokémon Square for the rest of the game.

===Makuhita===
{{p|Makuhita}} runs the local dojo.

===Mankey===
These {{p|Mankey}} were causing havoc in [[Uproar Forest]]. The team defeats them, and later finds them near their team base. However, they see peeled Chestnuts and agree to renovate the team base if given more Chestnuts.

===Metapod===
{{p|Metapod}} is Caterpie's friend. He is first seen needing to be rescued. After being rescued, he'll usually be seen around Whiscash Pond with his friend [[#Caterpie|Caterpie]].

===Mewtwo===
{{p|Mewtwo}} was a strong Pokémon who defeated both Blastoise and Charizard. It was later defeated by the team.

===Moltres===
{{p|Moltres}} was encountered when the team was trying to prove the player's innocence. They had to face it, and after defeating it, promised it that they would try to stop the natural disasters.

===Munchlax===
{{p|Munchlax}} appears randomly in Pokémon Square and will give the player a [[Munch Belt]] in exchange for a food item.

===Ninetales===
{{p|Ninetales}} was found in legends of a Pokémon taking a curse for a [[human]]. It is then seen when the team and Team A.C.T clash in [[Mt. Freeze]], revealing that the player is not the human in the legend.

===Pelipper===
Various {{p|Pelipper}} work in the local post office. A particular one delivers mail to the rescue team each morning that their mailbox is not full. Said Pelipper sends a letter to the team after their journey.

===Persian===
{{p|Persian}} runs the local bank.

===Rayquaza===
{{p|Rayquaza}} was the final boss before the credits roll. After its defeat, it destroys the meteor that caused all the natural disasters.

===Skarmory===
{{p|Skarmory}} kidnapped Diglett, thinking it was causing the earthquakes. However, it was defeated by the team.

===Smeargle===
{{p|Smeargle}} runs away from its tribe because it does not want to undergo a "growing up" ritual. It gets lost in [[Howling Forest]], prompting the player's team to go rescue it, after which it will join the team.

===Spinda===
{{p|Spinda}} was searching for the mirage Pokémon, but couldn't due to its frail state. It gave the team the Clear Wing to begin [[The Mystery of the Mirage Pokémon|their search for it]].

Team Rumblerock consists of two {{p|Graveler}} and a {{p|Golem}}, who leads the team.

===Team Shifty===
Team Shifty is a rescue team more interested in rewards than helping Pokémon. Its members are two {{p|Nuzleaf}} and a {{p|Shiftry}}, who leads the team.

===Xatu===
{{p|Xatu}} can see the future, and resides within the Hill of the Ancients at the end of [[Great Canyon]]. It gives the player advice at several points in the game. Along with Alakazam and an unnamed Ghost-type Pokémon it creates the Teleport Gem so that the player can reach [[Sky Pillar]].

===Whiscash===
{{p|Whiscash}} is a smart Pokémon who lives in a pond north of Pokémon Square. He usually gives the team advice, and gives them the [[HM]] {{m|Dive}} so that they can access the [[Stormy Sea]].

===Wigglytuff===
{{p|Wigglytuff}} runs the Friend Area shop.

===Wynaut and Wobbuffet===
{{p|Wynaut}} and {{p|Wobbuffet}} are first seen when Mankey are terrorizing [[Uproar Forest]]. After this, they peel a Chestnut and give it to the team, which the Mankey later take.

===Zapdos===
{{p|Zapdos}} captured Shiftry because he broke the cloud it was sleeping in.

Deep in Amp Plains lives a tribe either consisting of {{p|Luxray}} and {{p|Luxio}} or {{p|Manectric}} and {{p|Electrike}}. They are seen when the team comes to receive the Water Float for Marill and Azurill, and must be defeated.

===Azurill===
{{p|Azurill}} is the Younger Brother of [[#Marill|Marill]]. Their mother is ill, so they do errands for her, such as the shopping, while also looking for a Water Float that they had lost. When the player picks up an apple that Azurill dropped, they experience their first [[Dimensional Scream]]. Azurill is later taken to [[Mt. Bristle]] by Drowzee and must be rescued by the player. The Water Float eventually turns up at the end of [[Amp Plains]]. Later Azurill falls into a nightmare and cannot be woken. The player must enter Azurill's dreams with the help of Drowzee to try and find out why. Azurill is woken By Cresselia once Darkrai has been revealed.

===Bellsprout===

===Bidoof===

Chatot is Wigglytuff's assistant. He guards the team from Kabutops and Omastar in [[Brine Cave]].

{{p|Chimecho}} prepares dinner for the guild and runs Chimecho Assembly, allowing the player to recruit other Pokémon to their team.

===Corphish===
{{p|Corphish}} is a member of the guild. He usually says "hey hey hey" at the end of his sentences.

===Cresselia===
{{p|Cresselia}} tries to stop Darkrai's plans. She is first seen revealing that what seemed to be her was actually Darkrai. After this, she travels with the team to defeat Darkrai in [[Dark Crater]]. After he is defeated, she joins the team.

===Croagunk===
{{p|Croagunk}} runs [[Croagunk's Swap Shop]]. Croagunk once slept near his shop, but later sleeps in the room where Bidoof sleeps. Bidoof thinks of Croagunk as creepy.

===Darkrai===
{{p|Darkrai}} is the game's main antagonist. Darkrai attacked the player in the Passage of Time at the beginning of the game, causing the player to be transformed into a Pokémon and develop amnesia. Darkrai also sabotaged [[Temporal Tower]], and once the player prevents its destruction, begins to cause a distortion in space. Once beaten by the player Darkrai attempts to flee through a dimensional hole, but is attacked by Palkia. Cresselia states that this would cause Darkrai to develop amnesia.

===Dialga===

Dialga is the ruler of time, who got overcome by darkness when Temporal Tower started to crumble, becoming Primal Dialga.

{{p|Diglett}} helps out with Sentry Duty, working alongside Loudred. At the beginning of the game, Diglett is unable to identify the player's footprint. Many times, Diglett can't perform his duty, and the team must do it instead.

===Drowzee===
{{p|Drowzee}} was a former outlaw, first seen helping Marill and Azurill find their Water Float. However, a dizzy spell made the player know about his true intentions and finds him and Azurill at the top of [[Mt. Bristle]]. Here, Drowzee is trying to make Azurill crawl into a hole to get him treasure. He is defeated, and is later found at Mt. Travail, reformed. He helps the team get into Azurill's nightmare, and later leaves.

===Dugtrio===
{{p|Dugtrio}} changes the boards every morning for the guild. He is Diglett's father.

===Duskull===
{{p|Duskull}} is the banker of this game.

===Dusknoir===

Dusknoir works for Primal Dialga. He is first seen as a renowned explorer, but his cover is blown when he snatches the player and their partner, sending them into the future. Dusknoir has several Sableye work for him, and ambush the player, their partner, and Grovyle with them in the [[Hidden Land]].

{{p|Kabutops}} attacked Chatot, the player, and their partner in [[Brine Cave]], accompanied by two Omastar. The same one attacked Chatot and Wigglytuff in the past.

===Kangaskhan===
{{p|Kangaskhan}} runs Kangaskhan storage.

===Kecleon Brothers===
The {{p|Kecleon}} Brothers run a shop in [[Treasure Town]], selling various goods to the player. The left one sells seeds and other food items, while the one on the right sells Keys, TMs, and Wonder Orbs.

===Lapras===
{{p|Lapras}} takes anyone with the [[Relic Fragment]] to the [[Hidden Land]]. Lapras was first seen by Wigglytuff many years ago, making him promise not to research the wall pattern. Many years later, Wigglytuff tells Lapras he cannot hold the promise any longer. After this, Lapras takes the team and Grovyle to the Hidden Land. Later, after [[Temporal Tower]] is saved, Lapras is asked about Palkia, but doesn't know much about it.

===Loudred===
{{p|Loudred}} works with Diglett on Sentry Duty. He also used to wake up the player and their partner prior to their graduation, and once went on the graduation test himself. He failed it, however.

===Manaphy===
{{p|Manaphy}} was first seen as an egg, being found while the team was exploring a dungeon. He later hatches, wanting Blue Gummis, which must be provided. He is later taken by Walrein. Many days later, he comes back, wanting to join the team.

===Marill===
{{p|Marill}} is Azurill's sibling, having a minor role in the storyline. When Marill, Azurill, and Drowzee go to Mt. Bristle, Marill is left behind. Later, Marill and Azurill tell the team about the water float in Amp Plains.

I think it is a simalur situation with Nando, where his Roselia/Roserade took a back seat to Kricketune. Drew's Flygon has been part of very significant battles, also assisted Drew while trying to capthure Arcanine and rescued May that time Harley and TR were working together. In May's epic battle with Drew at the end of the Kanto GF, Roselia did not even feature whereas Flygon did. I'm not saying Roselia is not notable but I'am saying Flygon is as notable, maybe more, but as always it is your call.

Roselia is still Drew's main and most used Pokémon. And he used it against May in their last known battle together and appeared in cameos as Roserade. Flygon has yet to be seen again.

== Anime Episode Images May Be Temporarily Unavailable ==

Hey Kenji, I just wanted to let you know that over the next few days I'm going to be restoring and buffing the quality of lots of anime episode header images. I won't be changing their content, but instead saving the images and doing things like correcting color-balance and removing compression artifacts. As a result, it seems that upon uploading said images it takes 30-60 minutes for them to be cached across all of the bulbapedia servers, in between which they may disappear on the articles. The reason why I'm going on a bit of a spree is because I've noticed a ton of episode images that are either really dark, or have bad compression artifacts (i.e image noise, random squares of the wrong color, radioactive skin, etc). Just to clarify, I won't be swapping any of the images for different ones, I'll just boost the quality on the existing ones. If an image is so low quality that it's not salvageable, I'll take a screenshot of the episode from my Pokemon DVDs. In that case, I'll make sure it's the same scene as depicted in the original image. If you'd like to see an example of my work so far, you can compare the current image with the previous one for the episode image of EP001. I've actually uploaded replacements all the way up to EP005, but EP002-EP005 are still being cached and are only viewable when referenced directly at the archives. I hope you don't mind the temporary outage, but I think it's worth it :). I intend to do as many images as possible, I may even turn this into a personal project and over the next few months fix any low-quality images for the entire Pokemon series. I got your message and I have been having difficulties with trying to find the voice actors for the Pokemon in the English dub. I just want to know how things normally work here, so I don't make the same errors again. I don't have any sources for credits so I don't rely on that a lot even when watching the closing credits as they don't tell me a lot about who is credited as a voice actor in that episode. Okay1 As I said on my own talk page, I am only a beginner on editing so I may make errors while I am editing. As for some Pokemon. I was going to ask you about some pages like Chili and Cress because they had "vaen=" way before I started editing those pages. They were found on the "In the anime" part on Chili's Pansear and Cress's Panpour respectively. I also have no sources that tell me who is credited as a voice actor for some of these Pokemon as a lot of these were left blank as if some uncredited in the English and Japanese versions of the anime.
