''Chaotic glitch songs'' are composed of garbage data, or data not meant to be a sound file yet used as a sound file, making random noises. If this is used for the [[glitch Pokémon]]'s cry, it can play nonstop for up to a half hour, so try not to hear those glitch Pokémon cries.

One example of a glitch song can be that of a glitch warp, notably to the invalid map ID [[FF]], which is commonly used as a wildcard to indicate unused connections and is never meant to be accessed conventionally. Entering such a map produces a chaotic glitch song as follows:

ProAurora: A glitch Pokemon was listed as having the Glitch type but was not under it, so I fixed it.

These are [[glitch type]]s in [[Generation I]] games.

In the Generation I games, [[type]] data is represented by a byte. Only 27 of the values for type are defined (including the unused {{t|Bird}} type and the placeholder "Normal" types with index numbers between 9 and 19, of which 15 are used. Type data beyond the highest defined value, hex 0x1A, is garbage data. Some of the glitch types share names with valid types.

As they do not have entries in the type chart, glitch types, as well as the {{t|Bird}} type and the placeholder "Normal" types, inflict regular damage against all types and take regular damage from all types.
