Introduction
Um, well, Hi? Thanks for for reading my page, I guess... Okay, I'm just going to get right to it. I have just liked Pokémon ever since I saw the show for the first time. Then I played Blue version and my addiction grew. Then I brought the cards and, I'll be honest, Pokémon were my gods (I was young). Anyway, I'm sure you get the point. But out of all the Pokémon stuff my favorite is the anime. Which is why I'm trying to watch every Pokémon anime episode. Yeah, I'm crazy but I think I can do it. Wish me luck!

Anime Progress
Instead of putting some huge table with every single episode on it I'll be quick and just go by season. EDIT: I have seen every episode now!
Loamy soil (Japanese: ふかふかのつち soft soil) is very fertile soil made of loam found in Hoenn and Sinnoh, where Berries are able to grow. After Berries are picked from a plant, the soil becomes loamy again. If Berries go unpicked, they will fall and replant themselves in the loamy soil. However, they will only replant themselves a number of times before disappearing altogether, and the Berry originally planted will be completely lost.

Since Generation IV, mulch can be used on loamy soil to control the way Berry plants can grow. Also, loamy soil is referred to as "earthy soil" in this generation.

----

The Magikarp salesman (Japanese: コイキング売り Koiking salesman) is a tricky man who is always getting James to buy one of his Pokémon. He is voiced by 石塚運昇 Unshō Ishizuka in Japanese and by Eric Stuart (4Kids) and Bill Rogers (PUSA) in English.

In the anime
His first appearance in the anime was on the St. Anne in Battle Aboard the St. Anne selling Magikarp to anyone foolish enough to buy one. He would tell them that they would reproduce and make the buyer rich. James was foolish enough to buy one which later evolved into a James. Some time after he appeared with the same "selling strategy" in Tricks of the Trade and Doin' What Comes Natu-rally. Later, in Here's Lookin' at You, Elekid, he would trade his Weepinbell for James's Victreebel. He has also appeared in Hoenn, selling a Hoppip disguised as Chimecho when James was searching for a Chimecho, and also selling Magikarp disguised as a Feebas for a Spoink's pearl which Team Rocket stole. Both of them were successfully sold to Team Rocket.

He tried his golden Magikarp scam on Tracey in Showdown at the Oak Corral claiming that the Magikarp could lay golden eggs. However, unlike Team Rocket, Tracey was too smart to fall for this trick. The Magikarp Salesman ran off when he discovered that it was Professor Oak's laboratory.

He made a cameo when Ash captured Dawn in Channeling the Battle Zone.

His latest appearance was in Ya See We Want an Evolution. He sold an Evolution machine/Mecha-bot to Team Rocket. While he did inform Team Rocket that the machine must warm up for at least a week before use, Team Rocket forgot to follow his instructions, which resulted in failure in evolving Pokémon and sustaining its Mecha-bot form. Therefore, it is unknown if this was another one of his scams, or if the machine would truly have worked. However, considering he ran off after telling them, it may have been another lie to keep them from following him.
|}

In the games
In Red, as well as the remakes FireRed and LeafGreen, the Magikarp salesman appears in Route 4's Pokémon Center and sells the player a Magikarp for PDollar500. He does not offer a refund. While this may seem something of a ripoff, it is actually worthwhile to raise a Magikarp from such an early point in the game, allowing the player to own a Gyarados earlier than if they had not bought the Magikarp.

Trivia
*The Magikarp salesman was given a Hispanic accent in all of the dubbed episodes except for Showdown at the Oak Corral where he speaks without an accent. This may have been an oversight of the Pokémon Chronicles production team, as after Pokémon USA took over the dubbing, his Hispanic accent returned in Ya See We Want an Evolution.
*In first episode of the series, Pokémon - I Choose You!, a younger version of the Salesman was shown along with Ash's other supporters as Ash got his first Pokémon from Professor Oak.

Synopsis
Ash and friends are looking for a quick escape to Ever Grande City, but May is nowhere to be found. Max suspects that she has gone to shop. But May comes back to them telling that she has won two airplane tickets to Ever Grande City. Ash thinks that it is a great idea because a quick trip would give him lots of time to practice before the beginning of Ever Grande Conference.

The group boards and takes off, but while they are on the plane the flight attendant reveals herself to be Jessie. The airplane turns out to be a plan hatched by Team Rocket to capture Pikachu. Jessie says that they will be going to Team Rocket's headquarters. However, since the Team Rocket trio did not plan ahead, Jessie did not refuel the plane. All of them think that they will crash. However, James spots an island in the sea. MTR, with extreme difficulty, lands the aircraft on the land.

On the island, they meet a gentleman named Robin who has been stuck on the island for quite some time. The island is surrounded by whirlpools, which prevent ships coming near to it. Robin also tells them that he has befriended the Wailmer which had saved them. Robin tells them that all his attempts to escape from the island have failed; they might have to live on this island forever. Brock comes up with a plan to get of the whirlpools - use the aircraft to make a boat.

Thus, with a team of Poké Mechanics at hand, the team starts building the boat. Team Rocket also helps, all the while conspiring to run away with the boat and Ash's Pikachu.

The next day when everybody wakes up, they are startled to find that Robin had woken up before any of them. He tells that he is saying a final goodbye to Wailmer. At first he was a busy, robotic-style worker. But after he came to the island, due to his friendship with Wailmer, he began to understand the real meaning of life. Just then, Team Rocket capture Pikachu with one of their extendible arms. They also take the boat and then try to run away from the island, but are stuck as there's no fuel. Thus they are sucked in by one of the whirlpools. Yet again Wailmer comes to the rescue of Team Rocket. However Team Rocket try to take Wailmer and cross the whirlpools. But, just about that moment, Wailmer evolves in Wailord. The first thing that Wailord does is to use Whirlpool on Team Rocket and sends them "blasting off again".

Robin, Ash and company think to use Wailord to cross the whirlpools. Wailord does this with extreme difficulty, but crosses the whirlpools. At the end of the episode, Ash and company along with Robin and Wailord find a ship. Robin, however, chooses to go back to the island to live with Wailord, as he feels that the island has given him the real meaning of life. Thus he sails away to the island and Ash continues toward Ever Grande City.
Synopsis
Eager to reach Mauville City, which is their next stop on the way to Petalburg City, Brock leads Ash, May, and Max into what he believes is a shortcut. Instead he manages to get them hopelessly lost in a bleak looking wilderness. As they look at the map Ash suddenly sees something strange in the sky, a Torkoal being attacked by a pair of Magnemite and a Skarmory! Ash rushes towards the fight with Pikachu together they are able to drive off the angry Pokémon. Happy to be rescued, the Torkoal thanks Ash and his friends by accidentally covering them with soot. Suddenly it hears a noise, and runs off into the distance leaving a very confused Ash behind.

Up in the sky Jessie, James, and MTR float by in their balloon. Off in the distance Meowth notices the Skarmory, and translates its cries as "Get out of here, now!". Before they can turn around the angry Pokémon slices open their balloon with a Wing Attack and sends them flying off with the cry of "Team Rocket's blasting off already!".

Back on the ground, Ash and his friends begin to cross across a rocky valley, which Brock claims will get them back to the main road. Suddenly the two Magnemite from before appear, and begin attacking. Taking some of Max's advice, May calls out May, who drives them off using Ember. Continuing along they stumble across Torkoal, who is once again being attacked by Skarmory and several Magnemite. Ash leaps to the rescue, and May backs him up by combining May's Assist and Torchic's Ember to drive off the Magnemite. Their attacks cause the Skarmory to begin targeting them, but Torkoal uses its Flamethrower to send it flying away. The effort causes Torkoal to collapse from exhaustion.

While tending to Torkoal's injuries, Brock tells everybody that they stumbled into the Valley of Steel, a place filled with wild and very aggressive Steel Pokémon. Torkoal probably got lost and was attacked by the Pokémon, just like they were. Ash suggests that Torkoal team up with them, certain that its power, along with their other Pokémon will be enough to get them safely out of the valley. Torkoal agrees, but suddenly the sound from before rings out, and Torkoal goes running off towards it. Brock speculates that the noise might be coming from another Pokémon, one far stronger then the Skarmory and Magnemite. They head in the direction Torkoal ran.

In another part of the valley, Team Rocket runs away from an angry Magneton. Its electric attacks send them blasting off for a second time. They land directly in front of a very large and angry Steelix. Not wanting to be attacked, Team Rocket tries to be nice to it, but are rewarded with a powerful Iron Tail attack which sends them blasting off yet again. They land right next to Ash and his friends, who have reunited with Torkoal on the edge of a big crevasse. Bouncing away they fall into the crevice, inadvertently knocking May and Torchic in as well.

Grabbing onto a branch, May is able to keep herself from falling to the bottom of the crevasse. But a wild Magneton soon arrives and tries to knock her off using electric attacks. Torchic, Pikachu, and Torkoal all use their attacks to keep it away, while Brock and Max lower Ash down on a rope to rescue May. After successfully dragging May back up, Torkoal manages to hit the Magneton with a flamethrower, driving it away for good. Injured, the Magneton flies to Steelix's location and tells it where Ash and the others are. Angry the Steelix uses Dig and begins heading towards them.

Ash and his friends finally reach the edge of the valley, which is marked by a river. Before they can cross the Steelix suddenly comes up out of the ground and begins to attack. Brock realizes that this Steelix is the reason Torkoal entered the valley, it wanted to challenge it to a fight to prove its strength! With Ash giving out commands, Torkoal and Steelix square off in single combat. Ash soon realizes that Torkoal's Flamethrower is having little effect on Steelix, despite its weakness to fire. Remembering his fight against Flannery he orders Torkoal to use Overheat, and is able to defeat Steelix. Impressed, the Steelix allows Torkoal, Ash, and his friends to leave the valley without further attacks. After crossing the river Ash asks Torkoal if it'd like to join his team. Torkoal tearfully accepts his offer and agrees to become one of Ash's Pokémon.
Incomplete synopsis
On their way to Celestic Town, Ash and his friends have to take Dawn to the Pokémon Center after it collapsed from excessive contest training. Meanwhile, Team Rocket, who were following the group on a slope, decide to have lunch in a luxury restaurant. But then Jessie notices that MTR's golden charm is buried under rolls of flab. The trio now realizes that, due to them having lead a rich and luxurious life ever since they had earned the money at the summer school, they have become lazy and grown a lot in flesh. Wanting to return to their former "sharp and cool" shapes, they start a harsh training session.
One Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team! (Japanese: 最後の大勝負！ポケモントライアスロン The Final Contest! Pokémon Triathlon!! ) is the 91st episode of the Diamond & Pearl, and the 557th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on August 28, 2008 and in the United States on January 24, 2009.

After the Trainers are finished with the training, they must use a Pokémon to bring them across a rigorous track to the finish line. Who will be the one that comes out victorious?
spoilers
Synopsis
The episode opens with a recap over the past three episodes and explains the challenge introduced in the previous episode. Professor Rowan says that the last event will be a triathlon, and Ash get pumped up. He begins talking to Dawn, Brock, and Angie about how he'll win, when Angie buts in that she'll win. Dawn has to separate the two and Ash wishes Angie good luck by extending his hand for a handshake. Angie blushes, remembering how Ash saved her, and runs away. Ash is clueless as always about what just happened and begins prepping for the race. Conway pops up and has a talk with Dawn before running off as Rowan and a Nurse Joy approach Ash and co. Brock launches into the usual routine before Croagunk stops him. Meanwhile, Jessie is busy getting pampered and reassures her team that they'll win while Meowth and James continue their duties.

The race is about to start, so Dawn recalls Piplup and Angie recalls Shinx. An aide fires the staring pistol and Jessie quickly takes the lead. She easily reaches the first checkpoint and receives a Hippowdon. Jessie begins arguing with the aide over Hippowdon's speed while Ash and co reach the checkpoint. Ash, Dawn, Brock, and Angie receive Spoink, Dodrio, Onix, and Ariados respectively and begin the first leg. Jessie finally starts out as other trainers catch up and is propelled forward by Hippowdown's surprising speed. Back at the school, Rowan and the others monitor the race. With the race, Dawn has taken the lead with Ash closely following when Angie uses String Shot to propel herself into first. Picking up on this, many trainers begin attacking each other. Conway takes advantage of this to pass them on Dugtrio.

Angie reaches the second checkpoint and trades Ariados for a Lapras. Ash closely follows, having passed Dawn, and receives a Mantyke. While Dawn and Brock trade for their Pokémon, Ash catches up to Angie when she again takes the lead with Ice Beam. Brock and Dawn, riding their Feraligatr and Sharpedo are passed by Conway and Floatzel and look on as he passes them. Jessie finally reaches the second checkpoint and argues with the aide over her position in the race and unfortunately receives a Magikarp. Surprisingly to James and Meowth looking on, Magikarp turns out to be incredibly fast.

In a practical dead heat, Ash and Angie reach the third checkpoint and return their Pokémon. Angie calls out Shinx and the third leg begins with both sprinting towards the end. Conway, Dawn, and Brock are approaching the end when Jessie speeds past them and reaches the third checkpoint. Conway quickly follows and Brock and Dawn follow from behind. Conway congratulates Jessie and somewhat creepily, begins to chase after her with Slowking as she tries to catch up to Ash and Angie. As Ash and Angie enter a cave, Jessie and Conway have managed to catch up with them and Jessie uses Seviper to attack them much to their and Conway's surprise. The ground beneath Ash and Angie begins to give way as Conway knocks out Seviper to slow Jessie down. Angie and Shinx barely manage to stop their fall by grabbing on a ledge, when Ash saves Angie again. Ash barely manages to pull Angie up and both sit down for a minute to catch their breath. Ash's relieved expression causes Angie blushes, but she quickly regains her composure when Ash point out that they have to make up a lot of ground and they begin racing again. Running at full speed, Ash and Angie quickly come close to the finish line where Jessie and Conway are exhaustively closing in. Seeing them approach, Jessie and Conway try to finish the race but due to their fighting, they are completely out of energy. Ash and Angie race for the finish and Ash wins by a nose. Ash begins celebrating while Angie has a moment of quiet thought. As other competitors cross the finish line, Conway and Jessie crawl across it and collapse.

The victory gave the Red team just enough points to win the challenge and all of the members receive a plaque after Rowan makes a quick speech. As a final celebration for the end of the Summer School a bonfire is lit and a buffet laid out. James and Meowth have a conversation while Jessie stuffs her face and says goodbye to the students who waited on her hand and foot. Over by the gate, Angie is sitting, looking at the stars when Ash comes over. Angie asks Ash why he saved her, and Ash, clueless to her crush on him, replies that he is her friend, making her look a little disappointed. Angie and Ash end their rivalry on a note of friendship. In the morning, everyone bids goodbye to their friends and Ash and co. wave to Angie before heading towards Celestic Town and Dawn's next contest.
** The dub title has the highest character count of any dub title, with 39 characters. This trait is shared with DP071 and DP072, if one excludes the "Part 1" and "Part 2" from their respective titles.
To make matters worse, whenever any Pokémon tried to battle with the Snorlax, it would use Yawn and make them fall asleep.

Marcel was just about to give up when Brock suggested that he capture a Slakoth from the Garden and evolve it into a Vigoroth. His reasoning was because of Vigoroth's Vital Spirit ability. This would prevent it from falling asleep.

Taking his advice, Marcel captured a Slakoth, and, after battling Ash's Pikachu, Torkoal and Grovyle, it evolved. Using the Wild Monkey Pokémon, Marcel battled the Snorlax and successfully captured it.

After opening the park, Marcel revealed that Snorlax had given him an idea. One of the rooms was designed for visitors to sleep if they were feeling tired, and Marcel's newly captured Snorlax helped them fall asleep using Yawn.

Ash and the others bid farewell to Marcel and continued to Lilycove City.
Bigglypuff is a giant Jigglypuff who appeared in The Ancient Puzzle of Pokémopolis. It has strange markings all over it and has a much deeper voice than a regular Jigglypuff. When it sings, it uses a bell as a microphone, and a paintbrush as a marker.

When the giant Gengar and Alakazam are fighting, which threatens to destroy the world, Jigglypuff sings its song, but the two giant Pokémon aren't affected (making this the first time someone didn't fall asleep during Jigglypuff's song) and the Gengar knocks the Alakazam into Jigglypuff sending it flying into the distance, Team Rocket style. However, Jigglypuff's song awakens the bell (one of many ancient artifacts), and the giant Jigglypuff appears out of the bell. Bigglypuff's song puts everyone in the area to sleep, including Gengar and Alakazam. When Bigglypuff sees the two giant Pokémon sleeping, like Jigglypuff, gets angry that they fell asleep during his song, so he colors on their face with a marker that resembles a paintbrush, and then holds the marker up, triumphant. When Ash and the others wake up, all three giant Pokémon have vanished, leaving only the artifacts that they came out of and everyone who was swallowed by the giant Gengar.
<!-- Short summary goes here. -->

Synopsis
Ash and friends are traveling through a forest with many Pokémon. Max keeps exclaiming loudly and moving towards various Pokémon, scaring them away. Then a group of Mightyena come and start acting threatening. Ash's Pikachu, Brock's Forretress and May's Torchic are ordered to attack them. They start to battle, but then a Poochyena comes running in, followed by Katrina. She explains that this is a Pokémon reserve. Brock starts trying to woo her, causing her to get uncomfortable, and the Mightyena attack him.
It cuts to Team Rocket, who have heard that the woods are supposed to be full of Pokémon, but haven't seen any. Then they notice one and suddenly they spot several more that they'd overlooked. Wobbuffet pops up, holding some kind of sign. Reading it, they see that it's a notice indicating that this is a Pokémon reserve. They immediately start plotting to steal Pokémon.
It cuts back to Ash and friends, who have followed Katrina to the preserve center, when the sick and injured Pokémon are cared for. Brock starts claiming that he, too, is a doctor and going on about it, when the Poochyena tackles him. Katrina scolds it and Brock claims that she even scolds beautifully! Soon after, Poochyena is sleeping and Max listens to the Pokédex entry about it. Then he and Katrina start talking about when Poochyena will evolve, and she reveals that Poochyena is the same age as the group of Mightyena they met, but hasn't evolved yet, probably because he only uses tackle attack. Katrina says that she isn't worried - it's not a problem if it takes a long time to evolve or even if it never evolves. Max protests that Mightyena are much more powerful than Poochyena, and starts extolling the benefits of evolving to the Poochyena.
May starts thinking about her Torchic evolving, and her and Max talk about how much he wants to see a Pokémon evolve and how they might get her Torchic to evolve. Ash tells them they can't just get a Pokémon to evolve because they want it to - they have to gain experience first, and it takes a while. Max complaining asks why things take so long, and Brock says if it was easy to evolve Pokémon, it wouldn't be so fun. Ash elaborates that Pokémon only evolve after they've done a lot of work with their trainer, and says that the getting to know each other as the Pokémon are getting experience is part of the experience. They start talking about why Pikachu hasn't evolved after all this time, and Ash says there are different kinds of evolution. Brock explains that some Pokémon, such as Torchic and Poochyena, evolve with experience, while others such as Pikachu need a certain item to evolve.
Max insists he wants to stay there awhile because Poochyena must be ready to evolve any time. Katrina says there's no guarantee Poochyena will evolve soon, but she does have room if they want to stay. Ash wants to hurry on his way to challenge the next gym, but Brock immediately accepts. Max tells Poochyena he'll do everything he can to help it evolve.
It cuts to Max getting Poochyena to battle Torchic and urging him to use bite instead of tackle. Torchic finally gets fed up and scorches both of them before walking away. Then it cuts to Ash feeding Pikachu a yummy snack and Max comes in to ask if he can borrow Pikachu or another of Ash's Pokémon to fight Poochyena. May says he'll probably just get them to lose deliberately so Poochyena can evolve, to which Ash says that such faked battles aren't good for Poochyena.
Later, Max is watching Poochyena fight one of the Mightyena, using tackle over and over, and get discouraged. Ash comes up and says lots of Pokémon are happy the way they are and don't want to evolve, such as Pikachu. He asks if Max understands, and Max says he knows Ash doesn't want him to cheat, and unexpectedly calls Poochyena and runs off with him. Ash and May are puzzled, but then Katrina comes up and shows them part of a trap for catching Pokémon. Ash and May realize there are poachers in the forest.
It cuts to Team Rocket standing beside a pile of Pokémon trapped in a net and saying 'we rock!' Then they start fantasizing about a promotion and the benefits that will result, such as Jessie getting a new house.
It cuts to Max and Poochyena, Max saying 'this looks like a good spot' and discussing plans to attack any Pokémon who aren't flying-type and don't have special attacks. Team Rocket is watching and plots to steal the Poochyena from the 'mini-twerp'. Max then tells Poochyena that although he likes & is good at tackling, it's only effective if the opponent is his size or smaller, so he has to start using bite. Team Rockets comments that he's trying to evolve it into a Mightyena, and decide to give him some 'help'. Max then starts looking for something for Poochyena to attack, and spots a machine.
He starts examining it with interest, then decides to just walk away from it. Team Rocket, disguised as scientists, come up and explain that they're doing top secret research and don't want Max to tell anyone about it. Max agrees, then asks what they're researching. James says they don't want to tell him, but 'unintentionally' let it slip in the process. He gets sheepish, and Jessie says that now that Max knows, why shouldn't they demonstrate? They put Meowth into the machine, pull a lever, and open it to reveal Meowth in a Persian costume. Max is fooled and very amazed.
Max asks if they can do it some more, and they turn the 'Persian' into a Sunflora, which really surprises Max, who protests that it's not possible for a Persian to evolve into a Sunflora. Jessie says that's what they told Einstein before he invented the lightbulb, to which Max says Edison invented the lightbulb. They quickly move on and proceed to go through a series of other such changes, then it cuts to Meowth trying to decide which costume to put on next. He delays too long and they knock on the machine, so he hurriedly puts on several pieces of different costumes. This really makes Max suspicious. Jessie and James stand in front of the machine and offer to give the Poochyena a try. Max says he knows it's rigged and starts to leave with Poochyena, but Jessie snatches it and reassures him that they do it all the time. They put Poochyena into the machine, and a moment later are holding Max back as he tries to get free. They tell Meowth to go ahead and the machine appears to explode.
Next thing, Team Rocket is thanking Max as they are about to leave with Poochyena and the other stolen Pokémon in their Meowth balloon. Max insists they give it back, and they refuse. Just then, Katrina, Ash and friends arive, and Katrina accuses Team Rocket of being the poachers and they proceed to unmask themselves and do the motto. Then they use a machine to grab Pikachu and start to float away. Katrina, Ash and friends give chase. Ash releases his Taillow, who starts pecking Jessie and James. They stop piloting their balloon and it gradually floats to the ground, for which Ash congratulates Taillow. Max urges Poochyena to bite through the net in order to free himself and all his friends. Poochyena is scared, but with enough encouragement, he does it. They all fall to the ground, Team Rocket looks dismayed, and just then Taillow's persistent pecking causes James to loosen his hold on the Pikachu-grabber, and it releases Pikachu. Then Ash orders Pikachu to use thunderbolt, which causes Team Rocket to blast off again.
It cuts to Max congratulating Poochyena for finally using bite and saving the day. He says Ash is right - Poochyena's great whether he evolves or not. Poochyena comments happily and then begins to evolve! Max and May don't understand why Poochyena is glowing, but Katrina explains that it's beginning to evolve. The newly evolved Mightyena lets out a triumphant howl, Max is amazed, and the other three Mightyena come to congratulate their companion. The episode ends then.
