will be applied to it. Mimic will retain the move's current PP if the user switches out, and
full PP ups will be applied to any moves that Mimic subsequently copies.

In-game, Mimic allows you to see the opponent's moveset and select the move to copy.

In Stadium, Mimic will not copy a move's maximum PP.

==Generation II and III==

In Generation II and III, Mimic copies the opponent's last move.

==Generation IV==
In addition to its Generation III effects, if it is known by a {{p|Bonsly}} or a {{p|Mime Jr.}} when they level up, they will evolve into a {{p|Sudowoodo}} or a {{p|Mr. Mime}}, respectively.
'''Error Cards''' are cards in the TCG that have certain elements on the card that are incorrect. The errors on these cards vary from minor to major errors. There is only a very small amount of these cards available which make these cards sought after by collectors.

==Base Set errors==
Here are the list of error cards from the Base Set:
*1st Edition Kakuna & Bulbasaur - These two cards had the word length repeated twice.
* 1st Edition Pikachu - A number of {{p|Pikachu}} cards had a number of minor errors in their flavor text and images.
* 1st Edition Voltorb - This card refers to [[Poké Balls]] as it's Japanese counterparts the Monster Balls.
* Diglett - A number of Diglett have their attack energy cost symbols rotated 90 degrees.
* Base Set Ninetales - A rare number of Base Set {{p|Ninetales}} lack the damage done for their attacks.
* 1st Edition Sandshrew - Sandshrew's attack says "this attack does nothing" while its supposed to say "that attack does nothing".
* Wartortle - A number of {{p|Wartortle}} have pictures of Wartortle in its evolution box.
* Base Set Blastoise - A rare number of Base Set Blastoise were printed without the word "stage" in the "put Blastoise on the stage 1 Pokémon" text.

==Jungle Set errors==
* Seaking & Rapidash - Seaking and Rapidash are Stage 1 Pokémon but the text tell you to "Put XXX on the Stage 1 card".
* 1st Edition Butterfree - Due to a bubble in the printing ink, a number of {{p|Butterfree}} Cards were written as "Edition d" instead of "Edition 1".
* 1st Edition Electrode - A number of Jungle {{p|Electrode}} have the image of Base Set Electrode.

==Team Rocket Set errors==
Here are the list of error cards from the Team Rocket Set
* Dark Arbok - Dark {{p|Arbok}} was first printed with extra zeros and the number three was misplaced so it was written as "©1999-23000 Wizards".
* Dark Golbat - The English Pokémon Power mentions "Apply Weakness and Resistance". While in the Master Rules Document, the Japanese Dark {{p|Golbat}}'s Pokémon Power says "Don't apply Weakness and Resistance." ... and there is a lacking space between the words "Pokémon" and "Apply". (Reads "Pokémon.Apply")
* Holo Dark Dragonite - The attack cost symbols for Holo Dark {{p|Dragonite}} are off the center.
* Grimer - English Team Rockets Grimer's Poison Gas attack puts Pokémon to sleep, even though the Japanese version Poisons them.
* Giovanni's Pinsir - {{p|Pinsir}}'s "Snapping Pincers" attack is supposed to do 20+ damage and not 10+ damage.

* Horsea - The attack cost energy symbol for Horsea is oddly off.
* Meganium - The Pokémon Power title text is black instead of red.
* Focus Band - The picture on the Focus Band has a white bar beneath it, as if the picture wasn't properly positioned while they were doing the layout on the computers.
* Scizor - The attack's damage done is "20+" while it's supposed to be "20x".
* Raichu - For an unexplained reason the "Put Raichu on the Basic Pokémon" text on the card is unnecessarily bold and italic.
* Zubat - Zubat's resistance lacks the "-30".
* Dark Haunter - Dark {{p|Haunter}}'s "Call Back" attack's clause leave out the word "opponent's".
* Light Flareon - The "b" in "benched" is not capitalized.
Here are the list of error cards from the Legendary Collection Set:
* Reverse Holo Exeggcute - Normally on Reverse Holos, the Energy costs for attacks aren't reflective. On Exeggcute, they are.

==Expedition Set errors==
Here are the list of error cards from the Expedition Set:
* Darkness Energy - The card text implies that you can do extra damage to Benched Pokémon while normally all attacks cannot do extra damage to benched Pokémon.
* Alakazam - The "This power stops working if..." text is italicized while it is not supposed to be.
* Charizard (#39) - This card tells you to "Put Charizard on the Basic Pokémon".
* Gengar - Gengar's Chaos Move Pokémon Power game text has a few spots where the text could go up a line.
* Dugtrio - Like the Umbreon error with the oversized Psychic symbol, Dugtrio's attack's Energy cost's symbols are larger than they should be.
* Totodile (#134) - When you scan in {{p|Cyndaquil}}'s card into the E-Reader for GBA, you can use a "Cynda!" sound for your Melody Box. However when you scan in the Totodile card, you get "Wani!" instead of "Toto!". "Wani" is in reference to Totodile's Japanese name "Waninoko". Since both Chikorita and Pikachu's name is the same in English and Japanese, either Totodile's sound effect is the error, or Cyndaquil's is.
* Multi Technical Machine 01 & Energy Removal 2 - As you scan these two cards in your E-Reader for Game Boy Advance, the TM01 card tells you that you can use the "Paralyzing Stare" attack (while the card attack name is really "Paralyzing Gaze"), and the reader refers to "Energy Removal 2" as just "Energy Removal".
