Ritchie (Also Richie, Japanese: ヒロシ Hiroshi) is a nominally recurring Pokémon trainer in the Pokémon anime. His Japanese seiyu is 高山みなみ Minami Takayama, his English voice actress is Tara Jayne, and his Brazilian Portuguese voice actors are Alex Wendel (Indigo League), Francisco Freitas (Whirl Islands) and Thiago Longo (Pokémon Chronicles). He is named after Hiroshi Yamauchi, former President of Nintendo. His Japanese name means "far and wide" (溥), while his English name is a diminiuitive for Richard, which is generally agreed to mean "brave power" in Germanic (from the elements ric "power, rule, ruler" and hard "brave, hardy").

Ritchie is often seen as a clone of Ash Ketchum, having four of the same Pokémon (Charmeleon, Butterfree, Pikachu, and Taillow) and many believe that episodes with him demonstrate what the show would be like if Ash was perfect. He has a lack of popularity in the Pokémon fandom.

In the anime
Ritchie first appeared in A Friend In Deed and quickly befriended his fellow Pokémon League competitor, Ash Ketchum. This led to problems in the next episode, Friend or Foe Alike, since the two were matched up to battle against each other. Ritchie won the match, since at the very end Ash's Charizard refused to fight what it considered a weaker opponent and took a nap on the battlefield instead.

Ritchie showed up again in the anime when Ash and friends visited the Whirl Islands, starting in A Parent Trapped! He was searching for a mysterious Pokémon found there, which turned out to be a Lugia.

He also appeared in three Pokémon Chronicles episodes, Oaknapped, Celebi and Joy and The Search for the Legend. The second of these makes him one of three notable characters to travel backwards through time with the aid of Celebi, the other characters being May and Meowth.

| align=center | <br>Taillow
|}

Ritchie had at least 3 other Pokémon during Indigo League competition. It's uncertain which ones belonged to him. However, the beginning scene in Friends to the End narrowed the situation a bit. Possible Ritchie's Pokémon presented in this scene include Spearow and Tentacool. At least one of them belongs to Ritchie.

In the games
The only game Ritchie appears in was Pokémon Puzzle League. However, some have speculated that, like Ash, he was based off the hero from Pokémon Red and Blue. In fact, besides differences in color, his outfit closely parallels that of the hero's original design.

In the manga
Ritchie was one of the characters in the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga. His personallity is very similar to that of his anime counterpart. However he has blonde hair instead of auburn. This might be because Gary also has the same hair color.

Trivia
* He marks his Poké Balls with stars on top so he can tell them apart from those of other trainers. This was useful when Jessie, James, and Meowth stole a bunch of Poké Balls, including his.
* Two versions of his name can be seen in the fandom, Richie and Ritchie. However, Pokémon Puzzle League, as well as Pokémon Chronicles subtitles spell his name with a "t". Due to that, he's properly identified as Ritchie in this article.
Dialga (Japanese: ディアルガ Dialga) is a Steel/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon.

Dialga is the version mascot of Pokémon Diamond, appearing on the boxart.

Dialga's signature move is Roar of Time.
Biology
Physiology
Dialga is somewhat dinosaur-like. It is mainly black/dark blue with some gray metallic portions, such as its chestplate, which has a diamond in the center. It also has various blue spots. It has a somewhat wing-like structure on its back, and a crest on its head, resembling a type of dinosaur. Dialga also has long claws and a short tail.
Gender differences
Dialga is a genderless species.

Special abilities
Dialga has the ability to warp time. It is the only Pokémon capable of naturally learning Roar of Time.

Behavior
Being that Dialga, like Palkia, primarily resides in a different dimension, its behavior is nearly impossible to study.

Habitat
Dialga lives in another dimension, and can only be summoned to the main Pokémon universe by using the Red Chain.

Diet
In the anime
Dialga appears in the tenth movie of the Pokémon anime along with Palkia. It fights with Palkia and Darkrai, nearly destroying Álamos Town.

A statue and silhouete of Dialga appears in DP036.

Dialga also makes a cameo in the Japanese version of the Diamond and Pearl theme song.

In the manga
In Pocket Monsters DP, Hareta and Mitsumi set out on a journey with the intention of finding the god-like Pokémon, Dialga. Oddly, Palkia does not receive a mention.
*Dialga's US name, although many had already guessed it, was officialy revealed on January 20th 2006, along with Palkia's name.
*Dialga is one of two spacetime Pokémon created by Arceus. The other is Palkia.
*Despite being the creator of time, Dialga has the same catch rate as Chatot.
*Dialga has an astounding eleven resistances and one immunity, making it the most resistant Pokémon ever.

Origin
Dialga is based after a dinosaur with a diamond.
Name origin
The Dia in its name is derived from the word diamond, even though the Japanese word for diamond is
ダイヤモンド daiyamondo. The "ga" part in its name may be a corruption of "gon", referring to its origin and type.
Palkia (Japanese: パルキア Palkia) is a Water/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon.

Palkia is the version mascot of Pokémon Pearl, appearing on the boxart.

Palkia's signature move is Spacial Rend.
Biology
Physiology
Palkia looks less dinosaur-like than Dialga, as it stands upright and possesses wings, although it does not possess the ability to fly more than a couple feet off the ground. It has plates on its shoulder area, where two pink pearls reside. Palkia has a long neck and a powerful tail.
Gender differences
Palkia is genderless.
Special abilities
Palkia has the ability to warp space. In the Pearl version of the game, it is mentioned on the statue in Eterna City that it can create alternate realities.

Although it is not an ability, it should be noted that, because of Palkia's type, its only weakness is the dragon type.

Palkia is the only Pokémon that can utilize the Lustrous Orb.

Palkia is the only Pokémon capable of learning Spacial Rend naturally.

Behavior
Like Dialga, Palkia lives in a different dimension, making its behavior nearly impossible to study.

Habitat
Legends say that it lives "in the gaps of space which are aligned in parallel."

Diet
Main article: Pokémon food

In the anime
Palkia makes an appearance in the tenth Pokémon Movie along with Dialga and Darkrai, in which it fights with Dialga and nearly destroys Álamos Town.

A silhouette of Palkia appeared in All Dressed up with Somewhere to Go.

A statue and silhouette Palkia appears in DP036.

Palkia also makes a cameo in the Japanese version of the Diamond and Pearl theme song.

Behavior
Being that Dialga primarily resides in a different dimension, extremely little is known about its behavior.

Name's Melo. I'm 16, a junior in high school, male, straight as a board. I have been involved with Pokémon for over ten years, and I'm probably one of the few people my age who still play/watch/collect or otherwise participate in the franchise.

I owe a lot to this society. Three hours a day, I sit on a bus with nothing to do and little to stare at out the windows, and it gets extremely boring, extremely fast. When this happens, I remember that I have my Gameboy, pull it out, and play one of the many Pokémon games I have collected. As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for the trading card game, the anime/manga, or the video games, I never would have met the friends I have today, in particular, my absolutely beautiful girlfriend whom I adore very much.

I'm an aspiring writer and musician, and one of the main reasons I have so much respect for this business is also because of the extreme respect I have for Satoshi Tajiri, who, like me, has Asperger's syndrome. This mental disorder contributes to creative and academic strength, but to slowed reaction, stuttering and/or slurring of words, and an overall hellish time in gym class. Seeing Satoshi overcome this and become the multi-billionaire he is today inspires me to rise up and overcome my weakness out there in the music industry. I'm a gigantic thrash metal fan, though I do not limit myself and will listen to anything if it's good. Megadeth is my favorite band, followed by Carcass, Slayer, Testament, Death Angel, Destruction, Death, Symphony X, Coheed & Cambria, Metallica, Annihilator, G.W.A.R., and others. I'm currently trying to find bandmembers and start my own. I play lead guitar primarily.

I'm also one for odd ships and I dislike Misty's character. I believe Ash and May are closer than Misty is, mainly because May is less neurotic and easy to snap, something that Ash evidently likes about having Brock around all the time. I also strongly believe that Ash is bisexual, because he has the qualities of being both and, because psychologically speaking, without a father present on the show, the "lack of father figure" element of psychology would put Ash in a situation where it is not uncommon to love other boys and make up for that lost time.

As stated before, I'm an odd shipper. I adamantly believe in Abilityshipping because Anabel has the ability to commune with feelings of both humans and Pokémon, something that puts her a notch above all the rest who don't. I also adamantly believe that Giovanni is Ash's father, and perhaps the reason he is never mentioned is because Ash and/or his mother are ashamed of this fact.

I write a lot of fanfictions about Ritchie. He's a lot more level-headed, humble, and a practical thinker. He also seems to have better control over his emotions than Ash, as seen when he tackled him to the ground to prevent him from running right off the cliff in his debut episode. Ritchie seems to me like the epitome of character, and I try to explore the concepts of character, more real-to-life elements (these can get rather candid, explicit and/or nonsensical at times), practicality, and so on when I'm writing my fanfictions. I also have a tendency to make Pokémon, such as Sparky (Ritchie's scruffy-haired Pikachu), talk in these fanfictions.

Call me weird, call me what you will. But you also have to realize, fifteen years from now, you're gonna be looking back at this and saying, "Wow, there were some damn good times to be had from this thing." And if you're not positively reminiscing from it, you're nothing more than a hypocrite.
