Based on the evidence that between EP034 and EP036, there was a Pokémon episode that aired in the state of Texas on UPN on Friday, 23 October 1998, I believe that 4Kids got away with the ban on EP035 and EP035 aired on KTXH. The reason is that EP034 played the Thursday PokéRap (starting with Articuno) and EP036 played the Monday PokéRap (starting with Electrode).-Mathexpressions 03:34, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
:Um yeah, it was pretty much banned. The episode that was aired was The Bridge Bike Gang. ::Now hold on a minute, there's something fishy about this. When I viewed the official sneak peek about Pokémon in the United States on YouTube, it specifically said that EP001 would air on 7 September 1998, not 8 September. When the stations aired this sneak peek, they would air all the first 43 episodes of Pokémon, with EP038 being skipped. I know because I have a video tape of 7 episodes of Pokémon, and I know the endings. I think the stations here were those of New York City, NY.-Mathexpressions 14:29, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

This episode was not officially banned by 4Kids
This episode is now banned from all stations across the world except Japan, China, and South Korea, right? But at the time it was first aired, some US stations got away with airing the episode. And according to the posts of other people, this episode was aired in other languages anyway, with the gun scenes cut out (or not). KTXH aired the episode.--Mathexpressions 10:49, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
:The word "banned" does not appear at any point in this article. I seriously doubt that even some US stations got to air it because it simply wasn't among the episodes provided by 4Kids in the first place. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 11:32, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
::How do you know? In the US, "The Bridge Bike Gang" (the 36th episode) aired on Monday, not Friday, and that's why it played the Monday PokéRap. So if EP035 did not air on Friday, then which episode did? Hint: It's not EP036, and it aired on 23 October 1998. The air dates for the Pokémon episodes are obviously mistaken. I don't think they did that on purpose though. PS: 4Kids had to buy the tape for EP035 or else they could not make the PokéRap.--Mathexpressions 17:36, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

More on the ban
Unlike Dennō Senshi Porygon, this episode was not officially banned by the US government. And the sneak peek of Pokémon specifically said that EP001 would air on September 7, not EP015. It did not say "sneak peek EPISODE of Pokémon". That's why some TV stations in the world got away with airing the episode. More information later. == Why is a gun so bad ==

It seems kinda hypocritical to ban this episode because of a gun. The previous episode had Jenny point a gun directly at the three in the beginning scene, and in the squirtle squad episode a large group of people all pointed guns at Ash. All of this was left intact in the English version, so it doesn't make sense to skip this episode for that reason.Morgil27 05:56, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
:Those episode only had one minor scene where people pointed a gun at Ash. This guy did it repeatedly through out the episode and Team Rocket pointed a gun at the guy at one point. Also there was dynamite.
:But I do agree. It is pretty stupid for this to be banned when all of those cartoons from the olden times, except Disney cartoons, involved blowing one character's face off with a gun. Also, they still show the Tom and Jerry cartoons where Tom gets blown up, chopped into pieces, or shot, yet pointing a gun in an anime is bad and shouldn't be for children. Whatever... I don't understand American standards half the time. --<span style="color:#33CC66;">ケンジ</span><span style="color:#6600CC;">の</span><span style="color:#FF00CC;">ガール</span> 06:02, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
(Japanese: メロエッタ Meloetta) is a dual-type or legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

Meloetta is not known to evolve into or from any Pokémon, but it is able to change forms by using Ancient Song.

Biology
Physiology
Meloetta seems to be a femininely anthropomorphic figure with Bar (music)-style streaks in its hair, note value (♩) for its arms and hands, and pupil-less eyes resembling whole notes. It has a third eye or a jewel on its forehead and a black headpiece that seems to be shaped like a rabbit. Its ovular head seems to be 1/3 its body's height and about half its height in width. In its Voice Forme it has flowing, wavy green hair and light blue eyes. In its Step Forme it has red hair that seems to be stylized in a high bun and red eyes. In either Forme, its midriff and eyes match its hair.

Gender differences
Meloetta is a genderless species.

Special abilities
According to artists in Unova, Meloetta's beautiful music and dance inspired many works of art, music and songs. This made the Pokémon popular towards music artists and dancers alike.

Meloetta is able to change forms when it uses the move Ancient Song, which changes its form from Voice Forme to its Step Forme, or vice versa. In its Voice Form, it is a dual-type -type Pokémon; in its Step Form, it is a dual-type -type Pokémon.

Behavior
In its Voice Forme, Meloetta can sing beautiful songs. While in its Step Forme, Meloetta can perform graceful dances.
Trivia
* No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Step Forme Meloetta.
* Step Forme Meloetta has the highest Speed and base stat total of all Fighting Pokémon.
* Meloetta is one of three Legendaries which is Normal. The other two being Regigigas and Arceus when it holds no plate. It is also the only legendary to be a dual typed Normal-type
Origin
Meloetta appears to be based on the Muses of Greek Mythology, in particular Terpsichore, the Muse of dance and chorus, and possibly Euterpe, the Muse of music and poetry.

Name origin
Its name likely derives from "melody," or song, and "etta", a common suffix in female names. It may also possibly derive from the French song Alouette (song).

The other two being Regigigas and Arceus when it holds no plate
*It is also the only legendary to be a dual typed Normal-type

Arceus (Japanese: アルセウス Arceus) is a Normal legendary Pokémon. However, its type will change when it is holding one of sixteen items known as plates and can in reality be any type.

Like Darkrai and Shaymin before it, Arceus was not officially recognized by Nintendo until February 2009, the year of its debut movie. It was later revealed by the official site on August 3rd, 2009.

Arceus is also known as "The Original One," as it is said that it created Sinnoh, and possibly the entire Pokémon universe, along with the lake guardians and creation trio. Arceus can only be found in the wild legitimately with the Azure Flute, which has not yet been distributed officially and can currently only be obtained by cheating. However, Arceus itself was once distributed at Toys "R" Us stores in the United States from November 7 to November 15, 2009.

Arceus is the final Pokémon in the National Pokédex within Generation IV.

Biology
Physiology
Arceus is an equine being similar to a Qilin or Centaur. Its body color is white with a gray, vertically-striated underside, the pattern of which has similar recurrences on the underside of Arceus's mane, tail, and face, and Arceus's four pointed feet are tipped with gold hooves. Its mane is quite long, jutting away from its head, and its face is gray, with green eyes and red pupils, and a green circular pattern below its eyes. Arceus also has a streak of gold coloration on its head, and ears that point upward. Its neck is fairly long, with two pairs of extrusions to the sides, and a flap-like feature on the neck's underside that is colored white like much of the body. It also has a golden cross-like wheel attached to its body by its round abdomen, which changes color along with its eyes and hooves based on Arceus's arceustype<!--DO NOT change-->. The wheel also has four jewels attached to it. The pattern of striated gray of Arceus's underbelly resumes past Arceus's waist, the underside of Arceus's limbs also being gray in coloration, and with extrusions at the tops of the legs. Arceus's tail is fairly like its mane in shape and coloration.

Gender differences
Arceus is a genderless species.

Special abilities
According to legend, Arceus is thought to have created the Sinnoh region and possibly the entire Pokémon world, the lake guardians: Uxie, Azelf, Mesprit, and the creation trio: Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.

Arceus is Multitype; it can change forms and types with the use of the special plates.

Arceus is the only known Pokémon who can learn Judgment. Arceus can also use many attacks of various types, but to a lesser extent than Smeargle or Mew. Arceus is also the only non-Dragon-type Pokémon other than Smeargle who can learn Draco Meteor, although it must become a Dragon (by holding a Plate) in order to learn it.

According to the anime, its power can also bring back things that it once destroyed or make certain things vanish into thin air. Arceus also has the ability to halt time.

Behavior
While normally a kind, heroic and benevolent Pokémon, Arceus does not suffer fools gladly, and will attack in a violent rampage if betrayed or deceived. It also holds long grudges if angered.

Habitat
Arceus lives at the Hall of Origin, which can only be accessed by use of the Azure Flute at Spear Pillar. However, in the twelfth Pokémon movie, it seems to live in a wide dimension of stars and galaxies.

Diet
Pokémon food
In Arceus and the Jewel of Life it is said to "feed" off the energy of the elemental plates, but is seen in the games holding a Rowap Berry.

In the anime
Arceus made its debut in Arceus and the Jewel of Life. It was angry at the people of Michina Town for Damos's unwitting betrayal of it in ancient times, and so attempted to destroy the land. When Ash and his friends are teleported by Dialga to ancient times, they directly influence the event, changing the future for the better so that Arceus will stop its destruction.

In Battle Finale of Legend!, although Arceus is neither seen nor named, but the Red Chain is said to contain the power of 'The Original One'. Using the Red Chain, Cyrus takes control of Dialga and Palkia by causing a red ring similar to the one surrounding Arceus's body to appear around their bodies.

Arceus makes a cameo in the opening The Greatest - Everyday! and We Will Carry On, along with the creation trio.

In the manga
Arceus appears as a central character in the Movie 12 manga adaptation, reprising its role from the film. After Arceus saved the world from a meteor, Damos took care of it. It gave Damos the Jewel of Life to make the land of Michina rich and fertile. Damos then betrayed Arceus, and it has been outraged ever since.

In Pokémon Adventures, Gold and his team battle a wild Arceus in the opening pages of the HeartGold & SoulSilver, and even Exbo's powerful Blast Burn attack is unable to damage the incredible beast.

A few rounds later, it is revealed that it showed up in front of Crystal and the Team Rocket Executives, and the former tried to catch it.

In the TCG
Arceus (TCG)
Arceus appears in the TCG in all nine elemental types, and a player can have as many Arceus cards in their deck as they like, unlike all other cards in the game (besides Basic Energy cards). Cards based on Arceus first appeared in the Platinum: Arceus expansion set.

*At level 80, Arceus is the second-highest level Pokémon available for capture, after the Magikarp in the Resort Area in Platinum (which can be caught at any level). However, the Azure Flute needed to encounter it has never been made officially available.
* Arceus's English name has had three different pronunciations. Before it was officially revealed, fans pronounced it as "AR-see-oos", as does Pokémon Battle Revolution. Then, a promotional trailer for Arceus and the Jewel of Life pronounced it as "Ar-SAY-us". Its official pronunciation was then revealed in a Pokémon.com mailbag as "ARK-ee-us". Its original pronunciation is still in popular usage and isn't considered to be incorrect.
* Arceus's base stat total is 720, higher than any other Pokémon.
** In its base form, Arceus has the highest base stat in Defense of all Normal Pokémon.
* All Generation IV games have sprites for Arceus using its Multitype ability with all 18 types, including ???. It is disputed whether the ???-type Arceus is obtainable, as there is no plate in the code that can be used for this. It is possible this sprite was programmed in to prevent game crashes caused by tampering with Arceus's type.
* Arceus's signature move, Judgment, is the only move that Arceus is guaranteed STAB for, as it is always the same type as Arceus itself. However, on the battle screen, Judgment is always displayed as a Normal attack.
* Even though it is said that Arceus created the world with its thousand arms, it is not shown to have any arms at all, nor can it learn hand-based or arm-based moves.
* Holding the Toxic Plate, Arceus is the only legendary Poison Pokémon.
* Earth Power is the only move with a fixed base power, besides Judgment, that Arceus learns by level-up which can receive STAB with a plate attached.
* Arceus is the only event-exclusive trio master, needing the Azure Flute to be encountered in .
** Furthermore, Arceus is the only trio master of two different trios.
* Arceus is the only Pokémon to never officially receive a DPBP number. Kadabra, which was not released as a TCG card during the DPBP era, is assumed to be #070, as Abra and Alakazam are #069 and #071, respectively.
* The ring around Arceus's body appears to have a malevolent counterpart in the embodiment of the Red Chain, as a red version of it is shown to ring Dialga and Palkia around the middle when Cyrus takes control of them in DP152.
* Arceus is one of three Pokémon that can learn all of the moves ever obtainable as HMs. The two others are Mew and Smeargle.
* Arceus is the one who is rumored to have prevented all Pokémon in the future from disappearing in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. Dialga explains that it "was no miracle" that they were saved, and that a "greater power" saved them all. Arceus is the leader of the creation trio, of which Dialga is a member.
*Arceus is one of 3 Legendary Pokémon; along with Meloetta and Regigigas that is Normal, however; seeing as it can change its type due to the elemental plates, Arceus isn't considered to be a pure Normal-type, which makes Regigigas the only pure Normal-type Legendary.

Origin
Arceus is particularly based on a creator deity, present in many world cultures. The conception of the first god might be influenced from Kunitokotachi and Amenominakanushi, who, according to Shinto myth, summoned Izanami and Izanagi to create Japan with the spear. It may also be a reference to the Chinese mythical creature, the Qilin. Its myth is nearly identical to that of the Pangu, the Chinese creation deity. Arceus may also be inspired by (or a representation of) the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, who, in Buddhism, is either pictured with eleven heads and one thousand arms (the latter of which is mentioned in Arceus's flavor text) or in a Chenrezig (which could look similar to Arceus's Normal form). Some inspiration may have come from a horse, because of its Platinum sprite and attack movements in Pokémon Battle Revolution.

Name origin
Arceus's name may come from the words arch (highest) and deus, which is Latin for god. It may also have a root in the Latin word arcanus, which means secret; sacred mystery. Arceus's name may also come from the word archaic (ancient), which comes from the Greek arkhaios, and is derived from the ancient Greek word for "beginning", arkhē. It could have also come from the Latin word archetypus (original). Alternatively, Arceus's name can be seen as a portmanteau of Zeus, the most powerful of Greek gods and arch (highest). Another theory may be the combination of Zeus and Ra spelled backwards. Zeus being the king of gods and Ra being the solar god and creator (albeit in different pantheons). Those two qualities are shared by the Pokémon. Also, Arceus can also be derived from aureus (golden), possibly referring to its hooves and wheel. Nevertheless, Arceus's name origin and possible theories have led fans to believe that Arceus may be in fact a creator deity in Pokémon form. Arceus's name is pronounced with a soft "c" (or "s" sound) by the announcer in Pokémon Battle Revolution; in keeping with its probable name origin, it is pronounced with a hard "c" (or "k" sound) in television commercials and in Arceus and the Jewel of Life.
Regigigas (Japanese: レジギガス Regigigas) is a Normal legendary Pokémon. It is the master of Hoenn's legendary golems.

It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

It comes to life only when Regirock, Regice, and Registeel are gathered. Therefore, it requires the three to be in the player's party to awaken it within Snowpoint Temple, where it sleeps. It still appears on the map if they are absent, but does not awaken and the player regards it as a statue.

Biology
Physiology
Regigigas shares several traits with the Regis. For instance, it has seven dot-like "eyes" arranged in a specific pattern. The braille pattern is Regigigas's way of showing emotion (red if angry, blue if sad, etc.). It has six spots that are apart from its eyes, which seem to be gemstones. These gemstones seem to represent the Regis, with the red gems representing Regirock, the blue gems representing Regice and the silver gems representing Registeel. It has a golem-like shape and is primarily white in coloration, possessing long arms, with three fairly human-like white fingers, and short legs. It has large yellow-colored bands on its shoulders and wrists, with a sloping section on its chest that appears to be its head also being yellow. Its body is covered in black stripes, and it has moss growing in its back and feet, which may indicate it has been asleep for a long time.
Gender differences
Regigigas is a genderless species.

Special abilities
Regigigas's signature ability is Slow Start, which causes Regigigas's Attack and Speed to be halved the first five turns. According to its Pokédex entries, the legends say that its extremely high attack stat, combined with its colossal strength, enables it to move continents.

Regigigas is capable of communicating via telepathy.

Regigigas is also capable of controlling the legendary golems, even if they already belong to a Trainer.

Behavior
When Regigigas is disturbed on its slumber on Snowpoint Temple, it goes on a rampage and shoots powerful Hyper Beams. But when it is befriended, it is calm and gentle, as seen in Pillars of Friendship.

Habitat
It resides in the Snowpoint Temple, having done so for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. According to the braille in the Generation III games, it was sealed away in order to protect people, and three keys (the legendary golems) were created so that only one with the power of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel would be able to catch it.

Diet
Pokémon food

In the anime
Regigigas appeared in Giratina and the Sky Warrior. In the movie, it lives in a temple in the mountains of Gracidea. It had been asleep for centuries, for so long that moss began to grow on its body. However, when Zero entered the Reverse World and began shattering pillars of ice within it, the glacier in front of Regigigas' temple suffered catastrophic explosions and began moving. This disturbed the great titan's slumber, rousing it into action.

When Dawn's Buneary and Dawn failed to stop the glacier with the help of a large group of wild Pokémon, Regigigas appeared in the command of a herd of dozens of Mamoswine and together, they began pushing on the glacier to hold it back. Though at first they managed to still its movement and move it back slightly, in the end they too failed. It was only when Giratina healed the broken ice pillars in the Reverse World that the glacier stopped. Regigigas returned to its temple at the end of the movie, where it is seen using Hyper Beam on Team Rocket during the credits.

Another Regigigas appeared in Pillars of Friendship at Snowpoint Temple. J wanted to steal it so it was rudely awakened by her. She shattered the pillars of ice, rock, and steel surrounding it and then she used her Salamence's Flamethrower on it. It went on a rampage after, using Hyper Beam on practically anything. It even used Confuse Ray to control Pyramid King Brandon's set of legendary golems to help it. At the end of the episode, it healed Brandon and his golems using Hidden Power to restore them from their petrification. It was then taken back to the temple to return to its slumber.

A Regigigas appeared as part of Meowth's boss fantasy in Dealing With a Fierce Double Ditto Drama!, alongside Giratina.
}}

Trivia
* Due to Slow Start reducing its potential, Regigigas has more in common with Slaking than it does with other legendaries. They share the same base stat total of 670, the same base Attack stat of 160, and abilities that limit their power.
* Although it is thought to be unique, it is possible to see and fight another, under the ownership of Tower Tycoon along with a Heatran and Cresselia in the 49th consecutive battle in the Battle Tower. Riley uses one too, confirming that Regigigas is, like Cresselia, Heatran, Shaymin and the other legendary golems, a slightly more common legendary species than that of others.
* It is the only Pokémon who can learn TMs that cannot learn 17 or 44. This is probably to prevent people from countering its own ability by avoiding damage or healing itself.
* Regigigas is the only one of the Regis not to have its type in its name. Regirock is a Rock, Regice is an Ice, and Registeel is Steel.
** Regigigas is also the only one of the Regis that does not use the remix of the legendary golem battle theme in Platinum. Instead, it uses the legendary battle theme, much like in .
* Regigigas is one of the few Trio masters to not be in the same generation as its trio, along with Lugia.
*Due to their typings, Regigigas and the other legendary golems all share a common weakness to Fighting moves.
* Regigigas and Slaking have the highest base stat in Attack of all Normal Pokémon. They have the third highest attack of all Pokémon, after Deoxys's Attack Forme and Rampardos.
* Despite being called the Colossal Pokémon, Regigigas is only the fourteenth tallest Pokémon and only the eighth heaviest.
* By hacking to obtain Cherish Balls, it is possible to trick the game into opening Rock Peak, Iceberg, and Iron Ruins: by catching the in-game Regigigas in a Cherish Ball, the game thinks the Regigigas was obtained at a Nintendo event.
* An event Regigigas unlocks the Regi trio to be caught in normal gameplay in hidden caves across the Sinnoh region.
*Regigigas' strength is exaggerated in the legend that it towed the continents with ropes. However, in its first appearance in the movie Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Regigigas failed to push back a glacier even with the help of many Mamoswine, despite its legendary strength. This could be due to its Slow Start though, as it has just awoken when it went to stop the glacier.
*"Regi" is latin for king or royalty and purple is considered the color of royalty. Shiny Regigigas are speculated to be colored purple to further relate Regigigas with these aspects.
*Regigigas holds the record for the lowest leveled legendary met in any Pokémon game, at Level 1. This makes it tied for the lowest level of all wild Pokémon with Magikarp, found at the Resort Area in Platinum by fishing (however, Magikarp found there can be of any level).
* Regigigas is one of 3 other Legendary Pokémon which is Normal. The other two being Meloetta and Arceus, when it holds no plate. It is also the only pure Normal Pokémon, if Arceus is holding a plate.
Origin
This Pokémon is based on the golems of Hebrew legend. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened.
Name origin
The first part of its name is Regi, kings or to rule, govern or control, or possibly regius, royal. The last part of its name, gigas, means giant. This means it is the King of the Giants.
