Levels are scaled down for tournaments, especially the PWT. If you bring a Serperior into the Driftveil Tournament, it will be scaled down to level 25, even though Servine doesn't evolve until level 36. I've noticed something interesting about his name... Achroma (in Japanese) may come from "achromatic", and Colress may come from "colorless". Considering that the games are called Black 2 and White 2, this makes a lot of sense to me. In my Black version(English) Challenge mode, Colress has levels 75 and 77, instead of 76 and 78, as shown on the page. In the japanese videos I watched, he had levels 76 and 78. This doesn't seem notable, is pointed out by the colors of his infoboxes relating to Steel and Electric types, and is something a reader can deduce already by looking at his team rosters. In Volume 9 of B&W, seems like VIZ translators butchered Rakutsu and localized it as Rachel.

The name "Blake" has been previewed in Shogakukan Asia's release of Volume 52. I think we should wait until after official release before changing this article to "Blake (Adventures)".

Their attempt to sneak into class was stopped by [[Hugh]], who angrily told Blake to focus more on improving himself as a {{pkmn|Trainer}} instead of flirting with girls. Their argument alerted the new teacher, {{adv|Cheren}}, who forced the three to sit outside as punishment. While they waited, Blake, Hugh, and Leo spotted the new transfer student, {{adv|Whitley}}, arriving at class. Hearing the conversation Blake and others were having about Whitley, Cheren decided to skip the lecture and instead had the students battle each other. Separated into two separate groups by gender, Blake and Whitley competed against their classmates and won, earning themselves a [[Pokédex]] from {{adv|Bianca}}. Later, Blake was seen in his room crossing off Yancy, {{adv|Yuki}}, {{adv|Maya}}, and {{adv|Yuko}} as potential [[Team Plasma]] members. In ''[[PS526|Mr. Perfect]]'', Blake and Looker traveled to Aspertia City's alleyways, where Blake met with his maintenance man, the {{adv|Magician}}. Blake had the Magician create a custom [[Poké Ball]] cover to make using them easier. After hearing a loud explosion outside, Blake and Looker found the culprit was a {{p|Genesect}}. Blake battled with Genesect and eventually discovered it was under the control of [[Colress]], a scientist on the run for conducting unauthorized experiments on Pokémon. Praising Blake's analytical skills, Colress had Genesect fire directly at the boy with its {{m|Techno Blast}}. With his Defense Suit and Dewott's assistance, Blake managed to survive. Noticing that Colress used the [[Colress Machine]] to control Genesect, Blake deduced that Genesect is a wild Pokémon and thus was able to be caught.

With the custom Poké Balls, Blake and Dewott attacked Genesect simultaneously, slowly whittling it down by forcing it to defend from two different attacks at once. When Colress discovered one of thrown Poké Balls was a [[Luxury Ball]], he assumed Blake to be a kindred spirit who agreed with his desire to artificially bring out a Pokémon's strength. Blake denied this and called the Colress Machine a failure, angering the scientist. Colress switched out Genesect's Neutral [[Drive]] for the Shock Drive, turning its Techno Blast into an {{type|Electric}} move. Dewott and Genesect clashed with each other, causing a large explosion, but when the smoke cleared, Genesect had been caught. Defeated, Colress revealed how Genesect works and that [[Ghetsis]] made him the new leader of Team Plasma before making his escape. Afterward, Blake revealed to Looker that his womanizing antics are merely a ploy to find a former female {{tc|Team Plasma Grunt}} that was tasked with protecting a memory card containing data on a machine that can counteract the Colress Machine. With their mission over, Blake and Looker headed back to the Trainers' School to write a report to headquarters about the incident.

In ''[[PS529|Pokédex Lecture]]'', Blake decided to use the Pokédex as a way of getting closer to Whitley. He dragged her to the [[Pledge Grove]] under the guise of a trip to fill the Pokédex with data. When Blake got too close, Whitley's [[Foongy]] retaliated with a {{m|Sweet Scent}}, accidentally summoning a {{p|Keldeo}} in the process. Keldeo immediately attacked, causing Blake and Whitley to fall off a nearby cliff. After saving himself, Blake carried the unconscious Whitley back to school.

In ''[[PS530|Movie Panic]]'', Cheren took his class to a school trip at [[Pokéstar Studios]]. There, Whitley acted in a [[Brycen-Man Series|Brycen-Man]] movie where she faced the titular villain while playing the role of the superheroine {{p|Foongus}} Girl. She easily defeated Brycen-Man's Pokémon, but a Mecha {{p|Tyranitar}} from another movie set appeared and began running wild. Blake, as the {{p|Dewott}} Kid, stepped in to save the day, much to Whitley's embarrassment. After leaving, Blake continued to frustrate Whitley with his advances on the bus ride home.

In ''[[PS532|Legendary Tornadus]]'', Blake took Whitley to {{rt|20|Unova}}, where [[Giallo]] of the [[Seven Sages]] had been spotted. Looker kept watch in secret to see if Whitley and Giallo would recognize each other and confirm their suspicions about her. Shortly after arriving, Blake and Whitley were attacked by {{DL|Forces of Nature (Adventures)|Tornadus}}, who immediately turned into its {{DL|List of Pokémon with form differences|Forces of Nature|Therian Forme}}. Using Dewott and his new team member, [[Kelden]], Blake battled against Tornadus, only to discover its true target was Giallo. Together, Dewott and Kelden managed to freeze Tornadus, forcing the Plasma Grunts controlling it to recall it and retreat. Giallo was arrested, but the plan failed as Foongy caused Whitley to fall asleep with its spores as well as Giallo not recognizing the girl. Afterward, Blake took Whitley to the [[Virbank Gym]], where they watched a live performance by [[Roxie]] and her band.

In ''[[PS534|Choir Tournament]]'', Blake took part in the [[Autumn Choir Tournament]] as a member of Team {{p|Jigglypuff}}. After facing off against a variety of other teams in the tournament, Team Jigglypuff emerged as the winner. Roxie, who Blake had invited to judge the competition, had [[Pop Roxie|her father]] take the winning team and their class to [[Castelia City]] to compete in the Unova Choir Tournament. As they traveled on Pop Roxie's boat, Blake contacted Looker over the [[Xtransceiver]] and informed him that their true goal was to arrest [[Bronius]] and [[Ryoku]], who had been spotted around the [[Castelia Sewers]].

In ''[[PS535|Angry Boy]]'', the class arrived at Castelia City, only for Roxie to encounter an injured member of the executive committee for the Unova Choir Tournament. When the man revealed that his {{p|Karrablast}} was stolen by Team Plasma, Blake, Whitley, Hugh, and Roxie headed to the sewers to find the villains. After finding the culprits, a group of Plasma Grunts, the group was swarmed by a large number of {{p|Muk}}, forcing them to scatter. While the others battled the Grunts, Blake arrested Bronius and Ryoku. Noticing a strange chill in the airr coming from the [[Relic Passage]], Blake told Looker to handle Bronius and Ryoku while he headed down the tunnel to investigate.

In ''[[PS537|Colress Machine ]]'', Blake followed the cold air to its source at the [[Pokémon World Tournament]] construction site. After sending out his new team members, {{p|Kabutops|Kabutott}} and {{p|Gliscor|Glisott}}, Blake found [[Zinzolin]] at the [[Cold Storage]] defeated by {{DL|Forces of Nature (Adventures)|Thundurus}} and {{DL|Forces of Nature (Adventures)|Landorus}}. Colress revealed he was controlling the two Pokémon and used the [[Reveal Glass]] to turn them into their Therian Formes. Colress took the unconscious Zinzolin away and sent Tornadus out to battle, forcing Blake to leave Dewott, Kabutott, and Glisott behind to fight them while he and Kelden went ahead. Colress took control of Zinzolin's {{DL|Tao trio (Adventures)|Kyurem}}, but was interrupted by Ghetsis, who had arrived on the [[Plasma Frigate]]. Ghetsis had Colress load Kyurem onto a special room on the Frigate. Blake attempted to arrest Ghetsis, but was stopped by the [[Shadow Triad]], whose presence caused Kelden to go berserk. Ghetsis and Colress activated the Frigate's engines, allowing the boat to take to the skies.

In ''[[PS539|Frozen World]]'', Blake managed to sneak aboard the Plasma Frigate, which traveled to Castelia City and used a special Kyurem-powered cannon to freeze several buildings and civilians in an instant. Later, Blake found that Whitley was captured and locked in an empty cabin. After picking the lock and faking his own capture, Blake reunited with Whitley and asked where and when she was taken. Finding his behavior suspicious, Whitley realized that Blake's constant advancements were to uncover her connection to Team Plasma. Whitley accidentally revealed her allegiance to Team Plasma, but claimed she never participated in their crimes. Having confirmed his suspicions, Blake handcuffed Whitley and told her he was an International Police officer. After assuring that he only wanted to talk, Blake asked Whitley where the memory card was located. Whitley agreed to help on the condition they freed Kyurem from Colress's control first. After battling through several Grunts, Blake and Whitley arrived at Kyurem's chamber and destroyed it, only to find it empty. Colress appeared and revealed that they drained Kyurem of enough energy to freeze all of Unova. Colress then had Kyurem freeze Blake and Whitley solid before commanding some Grunts to toss them into the ocean.

In [[PS542]], Blake awakened at the [[Abyssal Ruins]], where he and Whitley were taken to by Kelden after it used an [[Aspear Berry]] to break free of the ice. Due to the unique properties of the cave, Blake was able to hear Kelden's thoughts, allowing him to communicate with it. Kelden took Blake to the bodies of its master, {{adv|Swords of Justice|Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion}}, who had been frozen solid by Genesect's Techno Blast in their previous encounter with it. Reasoning that a {{type|Fire}} Techno Blast could melt the ice created by an {{type|Ice}} version of the same move, Blake sent out Genesect to free Kelden's masters, but was stopped by Whitley, who feared the faulty [[Burn Drive]] could explode and seriously harm Genesect. Confused, Blake revealed he cannot feel emotions such as pity or fear and stated he was using what he believed to be the most effective way to free Kelden's masters and that Genesect could simply be healed afterward. Techno Blast successfully frees Keldeo's masters, and as an act of gratitude, {{p|Cobalion}} uses its sword to remove the Burn Drive, preventing the explosion from harming Genesect. Afterward, Blake tried gaining access to the International Police surveillance satellite, only to discover that he had been fired from the International Police and his privileges were revoked.

Blake decided that if they were to face Team Plasma again, he and Whitley would need more team members. After catching a {{p|Shelmet}}, Blake traded it for Whitley's newly caught {{p|Karrablast}}, causing both to evolve into an {{p|Accelgor}} and an {{p|Escavalier}}. Afterward, the ruins started ejecting everyone out of it, forcing Blake and Whitley to ride on Kelden's back and head outside along with Kelden's masters. Kyurem's influence caused the [[DNA Splicers]] in Blake's bag to rapidly pull him, Whitley, and Kelden to the surface towards it. After they emerged, Blake flew towards Kyurem, but was knocked out by the DNA Splicers' power and fell back into the ocean, forcing Whitley and Kelden to dive back in to rescue him.

In [[PS544]], Blake and Whitley were found on a beach by {{adv|Black}} and {{adv|White}}. Once they introduced themselves to each other, the four Unova Pokédex holders decided to team up and face Team Plasma. After tracking Kyurem's whereabouts to the [[Giant Chasm]], Blake and the others rode on Black's {{DL|Tao trio (Adventures)|Reshiram}}'s back to chase after Ghetsis. After arriving at their destination, the group encountered [[Iris]] as well as [[Gorm]], who had betrayed Team Plasma to join the side of good. Tired of waiting for the heroes, Colress revealed himself and told Kyurem to freeze the surrounding area. When Kyurem stopped listening to Colress, [[Rood]] appeared, revealing his allies used a machine to disrupt the Colress Machine's effect. With Team Plasma's influence on it severed, Kyurem began rampaging, first releasing the Dark Stone before absorbing Reshiram to become {{DL|List of Pokémon with form differences|Kyurem|White Kyurem}}. Frustrated at his machine's loss, Colress threw it away and fled, stating he chose to quit Team Plasma. Blake told the others to stop Kyurem from destroying the frigate while he chased after Colress. In the skies, Blake confronted Colress, who revealed he had a {{Shiny|Red}} Genesect that was superior to Blake's. Blake had the Pokémon he left behind at the Pokémon World Tournament construction site returned to him by Looker. While Blake's Genesect struggled due to its injuries, Kelden appeared in its Resolute Form and struck Colress with its sword. The attack only shattered the Reveal Glass, reverting Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus back into their Incarnate Formes.

In [[PS547]], Blake realized Colress was using a second, improved Colress Machine to control his Genesect. Blake's team tracked down Colress's {{p|Beheeyem}} and destroyed the device it was carrying, causing the Red Genesect to kick Colress off of its back. Blake tried to save Colress, but the scientist ordered his Genesect to fire a Techno Blast, revealing that it was truly his Pokémon and the second Colress Machine was diversion. Blake's defense suit protected him, only for Colress to command a second shot. Blake used Escavalier to jam Genesect's cannon, causing it to backfire and explode, knocking both Pokémon out. Blake was then assisted by {{p|Victini}}, a Pokémon Black helped two years ago. After taking down Colress's last Pokémon, Kyurem appeared and froze the scientist solid, defeating him. He later regrouped with the others at [[N's Castle]], which had been set aflame due to the Plasma Frigate crashing into it. Blake, Whitley, Black, White, Hugh, Cheren, Bianca, [[Benga]], and [[Cedric Juniper]] combined the might of all three stages of the Unova [[starter Pokémon]] and unleashed a triple {{m|Water Pledge|Water}}, {{m|Grass Pledge|Grass}}, and {{m|Fire Pledge}} combination attack, successfully dousing the flames. Later, Looker reported to Blake that Colress had been successfully captured, deliberately ignoring that Blake was no longer his superior. Blake then watched as Ghetsis was arrested and taken into police custody.

In [[PS548]], Blake was reinstated in the International Police due to his work in capturing the Seven Sages and Colress. He was ordered to continue living his life as a student until his next assignment came. During the Trainers' School graduation ceremony, Blake informed Whitley about his next mission and told everyone he'd be moving away from Unova.

==In the games==
In {{game|Black and White|s 2|Pokémon Black 2 and White 2}}, Colress is first encountered in [[Castelia Sewers]]. He is met again at [[Castelia City]], where he tells the player that he disagrees with the old [[Team Plasma]]'s goals to liberate Pokémon from humans. The player re-encounters Colress on {{rt|4|Unova}}, where several {{p|Crustle}} block the path. Colress uses his machine to drive the Crustle away and challenges the player to a battle. Colress is once again seen as a participant in the [[Pokémon World Tournament]], matched against the player in the final round of the tournament. He is later encountered on {{rt|22|Unova}}. Like usual, he talks to the player mostly about Team Plasma, as well as handing the player a machine required to get past the Crustle blocking the way inside [[Seaside Cave]].

Later on, during the battle against the new Team Plasma on the [[Plasma Frigate]] while at the [[Giant Chasm]], Colress is seen in a chamber, where he reveals that he joined Team Plasma to pursue and research the true strength of Pokémon. After he is defeated in battle, he allows access to [[Ghetsis]]'s chamber, wanting to see if the player can stop him.

After the player enters the [[Hall of Fame]], Colress continues to dwell in the Plasma Frigate; however, he and the other Team Plasma members have decided to put an end to their ambitions. Colress remains in the chamber when he first met the player on the Plasma Frigate; there, he can then battle the player and will give the player a [[Master Ball]] once defeated. He will then move to the bow of the Frigate, where he will battle the player once per day.

While he does not appear in [[Pokémon X and Y]], Colress is mentioned by a {{tc|Backpacker}} found on {{rt|10|Kalos}}, who says, "A few years back, this really strange dude named Colress told me that these big stones emit some kind of special energy."

In [[Pokémon Sun and Moon]], Colress appears on {{rt|8|Alola}} and gives the player {{TM|43|Flame Charge}}. After becoming the first [[Alola]] {{pkmn|Champion}}, Colress will reappear on the same route and give the player the {{p|Genesect}} [[Drive]]s. He also participates as a Trainer in the [[Battle Tree]].

When he is first met, he tells the player that he is still conducting his research into the true power of Pokémon, but following the events of Black 2 and White 2, he now believes that the source of a Pokémon's true power is its bond with its Trainer. He is in Alola researching the [[Z-Ring]]{{sup/7|SM}} or [[Z-Power Ring]]{{sup/7|USUM}} and if it can draw out the power of Pokémon more effectively than the [[Mega Ring]]. He also expresses interest in the [[Poké Pelago]].

In [[Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon]], Colress's role is slightly expanded, and he is revealed to be one of the people the [[Ultra Recon Squad]] reached out to help them with {{p|Necrozma}}. In response, Colress created the [[N-Solarizer]] and [[N-Lunarizer]], based on his {{p|Kyurem|prior experience}} with Pokémon fusion. He gives the player both devices after witnessing them capture Necrozma on [[Mount Lanakila]]. The player can also visit him in his the hotel room at {{DL|Heahea City|Tide Song Hotel}} before he is officially introduced. However, he's only talking to himself and doesn't seem to notice the player.

Colress also has a role in the battle against [[Team Rainbow Rocket]] in [[Episode RR]]. While the player and [[Lillie]] work to defeat the bosses of Team Rainbow Rocket, [[Wicke]] contacts Colress to enlist his aid. He follows the player and Lillie using an invisibility device he invented, and returns the bosses to their original worlds as they are defeated. Though [[Archie]] and [[Maxie]] are seen being warped away, Colress does not reveal himself until the player defeats [[Ghetsis]], who subsequently takes Lillie as a hostage. Recognizing that this Ghetsis is not the one he knows, he declares that he opposes this Ghetsis's goals simply because he hates Ghetsis in all cases, then dispatches him back to his own world with a prototype device known as the '''[[Colress Machine]] No. 1102''' (Japanese: '''アクロママシーン　１１０２{{tt|号|ごう}}''' ''{{tt|Achroma|Colress}} Machine No. 1102''). Colress debuted in ''[[BW112|Team Plasma's Pokémon Power Plot!]]'', where he was conducting experiments with [[wild Pokémon]] in an attempt to bring out their true strength. From his base in an abandoned observatory outside of [[Floccesy Town]], he used a large machine to generate electromagnetic waves that resonated with small devices on the wild Pokémon's foreheads, increasing their aggression and attack power while also rendering them subservient to Team Plasma's commands. Unfortunately for the villains, the mind-control device's EM waves also leaked into the surrounding wilderness, driving the local Pokémon to attack Floccesy Town and revealing their presence in the area. When {{Ash}}, {{ashfr}}, and [[Looker]] arrived in the observatory, Colress released his mind-controlled Pokémon on them to test their strength.

Impressed by their Pokémon's ability to match his brainwashed Pokémon, he planted one of his controlling devices on {{AP|Pikachu}}, forcing him to fight his Trainer. However, Ash's encouragement allowed Pikachu to fight against the EM waves, eventually causing the device to break and freeing Pikachu, much to Colress's amazement. Before he could gather further data, {{TRT}} showed up, using one of their miniature robots to steal Colress's research data from his computer before quickly reciting their {{motto}} and making an escape with their [[Team Rocket's mechas|balloon]]. With the mind-controlled Pokémon freed, Colress and the {{tc|Team Plasma Grunt}}s he had with him retreated, destroying the observatory with a self-destruct mechanism to get rid of all possible evidence.

In ''[[BW117|Team Plasma's Pokémon Manipulation!]]'', it was revealed that he had upgraded his Pokémon-controlling machine with his remaining research data. Instead of emitting radio waves to activate separate receivers on its targets, the machine now fired a narrow energy beam which instantly brought any Pokémon it hit under Team Plasma's control. Using this machine, Colress took control of a {{p|Haxorus}}, which he sent rampaging in a city. When Ash and his friends arrived and sent their Pokémon to stop Haxorus, Colress used his machine to take control of [[Iris's Dragonite]], giving the heroes a lot more trouble to deal with. Suddenly Team Rocket appeared, attempting to steal Colress's machine. A battle between [[Jessie]] and [[James]]'s {{TP|Jessie|Woobat}} and {{TP|James|Amoonguss}} and [[Aldith]]'s {{p|Liepard}} then took place, during which one of Liepard's {{m|Shadow Ball}}s accidentally hit the machine, breaking it and freeing Haxorus and Dragonite from his control. Realizing that they were at a disadvantage, Colress and the Plasma Grunts retreated.

Colress briefly appeared in ''[[BW118|Secrets From Out of the Fog!]]'' with Aldith, discussing Team Plasma's plans with [[Ghetsis]] on a videophone call.

In ''[[BW119|Meowth, Colress and Team Rivalry!]]'', {{TRT}} invaded his newest laboratory and drew his security – consisting of Aldith, [[Barret]] and some other Plasma Grunts – into a trap in the woods. Once Colress was alone, Meowth approached him and attempted to convince him to join Team Rocket. Colress refused, but offered to allow Meowth to participate in an experiment to increase his strength. Meowth agreed, having undergone training to resist the mind control device. However, Colress still managed to take control of Meowth, and ordered him to attack Jessie and James. Using {{TP|Jessie|Frillish}} and {{TP|James|Amoonguss}}, they managed to snap him out of it before escaping. Later, Colress was seen with his Grunts reporting to Ghetsis, who revealed information about the Light Stone to them.

In ''[[BW120|Ash and N: A Clash of Ideals!]]'', Colress appeared with the rest of Team Plasma to commence their operation at the {{an|White Ruins}}. While Aldith, Barret and many other Grunts ambushed the workers at the site, Colress used his perfected machine to seize control of the [[Cedric Juniper's assistants|workers' Pokémon]] and turn them on their Trainers. In ''[[BW121|Team Plasma and the Awakening Ceremony!]]'', he also took control of Pikachu again, forcing N to surrender the Light Stone to Team Plasma in exchange for Ash's safety.

In ''[[BW122|What Lies Beyond Truth and Ideals!]]'', aiding Ghetsis in taking control of the awakened {{p|Reshiram}}. When Ash and Pikachu tried to stop him, he used his machine on Pikachu yet again. However, this time Pikachu was able to fight against its control, and – together with Reshiram – destroyed Colress's machine once and for all, thus freeing the controlled Pokémon. Later Colress and the other Team Plasma members were arrested by Looker, thus bringing the team down. As [[Officer Jenny]] took Team Plasma into custody, Colress mentioned his next project will be a device that allows Pokémon to communicate with people.

Colress is seemingly polite, however he is emotionally distant. Despite openly aiding [[Team Plasma]] and refusing an offer to leave them for [[Team Rocket]], he wasn't interested in the team's goals, rather he was more enthusiastic about the limitless inventions he could create and test to manipulate Pokémon. After battling his way through Victory Road, he eventually made it into the top 8.

In ''[[PS514|The Tournament Continues]]'', Colress faced [[Marlon]]. Although Marlon managed to disable the moves of Colress' {{p|Beheeyem}}, Colress came out on top and advanced to the next round. After leaving, he noted that participating in the League and observing powerful Trainers would help him in his research. He was confronted by {{adv|Blake}} and {{adv|Looker}} of the [[International Police]]. After realizing that it was still wild, Blake used his {{TP|Blake|Dewott|Dewott}} to whittle down Genesect's health enough for him to capture it. Defeated, Colress commended Blake's strength and left, revealing that he was made the new leader of Team Plasma and that Ghetsis was planning a comeback. Later, Colress met with Ghetsis on the [[Plasma Frigate]] and stated that they needed to find Zinzolin, who had been ignoring their calls.

In ''[[PS535|Angry Boy]]'', Colress confronted Zinzolin at the [[Cold Storage]], demanding to know why he had been refusing to answer. Zinzolin revealed that he managed to capture {{DL|Tao trio (Adventures)|Kyurem}}, the third Unova Legendary Dragon Pokémon. Colress praised Zinzolin for his success, but demanded that he hand Kyurem to him, angering Zinzolin into attacking. During the battle, Colress realized that Zinzolin's true intention was to have Kyurem fuse with {{p|Reshiram}} or {{p|Zekrom}} through Absofusion. Following Kyurem's trail, Blake arrived at the [[Pokémon World Tournament]] construction site, where he witnessed Thundurus and Landorus defeating Zinzolin. Upon spotting Blake, Colress used the [[Reveal Glass]] to turn Thundurus and Landorus into their Therian Formes.

In ''[[PS538|Therian Forme III]]'', Blake tried arresting the unconscious Zinzolin, only for him to be taken away by Colress, who wished to use his knowledge of Kyurem to Team Plasma's advantage. With the Colress Machine, Colress took control of Kyurem and commanded it to attack, but was stopped by Ghetsis, who appeared with the Plasma Frigate. Ghetsis had Kyurem loaded into a special room on the ship. Blake tried stopping them, but was attacked by the [[Shadow Triad]], allowing the Plasma Frigate to take off and fly through the air. The Plasma Frigate was flown to [[Castelia City]], where it froze several buildings and people with its special Kyurem-powered cannon. When the traitor to Team Plasma, [[Rood]], appeared, Ghetsis ordered Colress to capture the former Sage. Rood was saved by {{adv|Whitley}}, who pushed him out of the way, only to get captured herself. Annoyed that Rood managed to escape, Colress had Whitley locked in an empty cabin.

In ''[[PS540|Flying Ship]]'', Whitley was broken out of her cabin by Blake, who teamed up with her to free Kyurem from Colress' control. They destroyed the chamber where Kyurem was kept, but it was empty, as the Plasma Frigate had already drained enough energy to freeze all of Unova. Colress had Kyurem freeze Blake and Whitley solid before commanding some Grunts to throw them into the ocean. Afterward, Colress realized that Kyurem appeared before Zinzolin because it was attracted to Reshiram and Zekrom's power when they awakened. He then speculated that because of Kyurem's power, Reshiram and Zekrom may return to Unova.

In [[PS542]], Colress gave Ghetsis control over Kyurem so he could use it to battle N, who had appeared to stop them. Later, Ghetsis obtained the [[DNA Splicers]] and used them on Kyurem, who reverted Zekrom back into the [[Dark Stone]], trapping N inside with it. Kyurem absorbed the Dark Stone, transforming itself into {{DL|List of Pokémon with form differences|Kyurem|Black Kyurem}}. Reacting to Zekrom's absorption, the Light Stone reverted to Reshiram, freeing Black in the process. Black and White briefly fought Kyurem, but were distracted when N was suddenly ejected from the Dark Stone, allowing Ghetsis to launch an attack and escape. After being tossed aside by Ghetsis, Colress secretly took N aboard the Plasma Frigate, curious about his ability to hear the voices of Pokémon.

In [[PS545]], Colress and Ghetsis followed Kyurem, who had started moving towards the [[Giant Chasm]] of its own free will. After arriving, Colress retook control of Kyurem and had it attack the Unova [[Pokédex holder]]s. When Kyurem stopped listening to Colress's commands, [[Rood]] appeared, revealing that a machine designed to counter the Colress Machine had been activated. Refusing to give up, Colress tried commanding Kyurem again, only for it to revert to its normal form and absorb Reshiram to become White Kyurem. Accepting his loss, Colress decided to quit Team Plasma and flee, only for Blake to pursue him while riding on Genesect. Colress responded by sending out a {{Shiny|Red}} Genesect, which he boasted as being far more powerful.

In [[PS547]], Colress was struck by [[Kelden]], who had changed into its Resolute Form. The attack only ended up shattering the Reveal Glass, reverting Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus back into their Incarnate Formes. As the battle continued, Blake realized Colress was using a second, improved version of the Colress Machine to control his Genesect. When Blake's team took down Colress's Beheeyem and destroyed the device, the Red Genesect threw Colress off of its back, sending him plummeting towards the ground. Blake tried to save Colress, but the scientist ordered his Genesect to fire a Techno Blast at him, revealing it was truly his Pokémon and the second Colress Machine was merely a distraction. Blake survived due his defense suit, only for Colress to command his Genesect to fire a second shot. Blake sent out an {{p|Escavalier}} and had it jam Genesect's cannon, causing it to backfire and explode, knocking both Pokémon out. Blake was then assisted by {{p|Victini}}, a Pokémon with a grudge against Team Plasma, who sought to capture it two years ago. Once his last Pokémon was taken out, Colress admitted his loss, only for Kyurem to appear and freeze him solid, defeating the scientist. Afterward, Colress was captured and taken into International Police custody.
