==History==
Meloetta was first pursued by {{TRT}} in Virbank City. It was able to elude them but somehow made its way into the Pokéstar Studios studios where {{Ash}} had encountered it. After he saved it from a collapse of some tools it stayed close behind him, following him to Virbank Gym.

It reappeared in ''[[BW083|Rocking the Virbank Gym! (Part 1)]]'' and ''[[BW084|Rocking the Virbank Gym! (Part 2)]]'' where it watched Ash's battle against [[Roxie]] and was visibly pleased to see him win.

Meloetta appeared again in ''[[BW085|All for the Love of Meloetta!]]'' where it was attacked by Team Rocket who had {{TP|Jessie|Woobat}} and {{TP|James|Yamask}} attack it with {{m|Air Slash}} and {{m|Shadow Ball}}, respectively. {{MTR}} then tried to catch it in an electric net but it was able to make its escape. However, it was injured in the process and wandered into the street in a daze, almost getting run over by [[Cynthia]]'s vehicle. Ash was able to recognize Meloetta from before and Cynthia applied potion to its wounds. Then they attempted to get its fever down with a bag of ice they had previously smashed from a nearby lake. While {{an|Iris}} and {{an|Cilan}} searched for an [[Oran Berry]] for it, Ash kept watch.

After a little bit {{AP|Oshawott}} came out of his [[Poké Ball]] sensing Meloetta's presence and instantly fell in love with it. Meloetta recovered a bit after eating an Oran Berry {{TP|Iris|Emolga}} brought. During this time both Emolga and Oshawott were arguing with each other and Meloetta began to sing in order to calm them down. Afterwards, it disappeared once more but had followed Ash and the others to Cynthia's jet.

In [[BW096]], Meloetta battled [[Ash's Krookodile]] after wishing to do so. However, they were interrupted by Larry and his {{p|Golurk}}, who mistakenly thought the battle was against Meloetta's will. It was soon attacked and captured by Team Rocket, along with Ash and {{AP|Pikachu}}. Subsequently, all three were taken to the Undersea Temple, and Ash and Pikachu were imprisoned.

==Personality and characteristics==
Normally Meloetta is an extremely shy Pokémon and will hide from strangers. However it will quickly warm up to someone new and is willing to help them if needed. Though a genderless species in the games, Meloetta displays many feminine traits. It seems to like Ash most of all, at times exhibiting signs of a crush on him, while Oshawott and {{TP|Dawn|Piplup}} like it. While it's timid in its Aria Forme, it becomes a strong battler after transforming into its Pirouette Forme and can take on opponents much larger than it is.

Meloetta can use its voice to calm down the Pokémon around it if they happen to be irritated, which has a similar effect to [[Oración]]. It can turn invisible but it can be seen in this state if proper equipment is used, such as the kind Team Rocket has.

==Personality and characteristics==
Buneary often displays traditional feminine personality traits similar to her Trainer. She enjoys dressing up in beautiful outfits and likes to show off in them, particularly to Pikachu. She is shown to be sensitive at times when ever Pikachu gets frustrated with her acts of affection in times that don't call for it.

Buneary appears to be a helpful Pokémon, as seen when she took off her vest to give to {{TP|Dawn|Pachirisu}} when the {{type|Electric}} Pokémon was sick from storing too much electricity. When around Pikachu, she gets flustered and hides her face in her wool. However, she is always cheering for Pikachu when he participates in a Gym battle and, when not being used herself, for {{an|Dawn}} during a Contest.

Buneary has shown time after time that she was meant to compete in Contests, using her moves in unique ways that make her more noticeable such as making an ice slide from Ice Beam as an appeal. Commonly she combines Ice Beam and spinning actions when preforming in a Contest.

Despite her size, Buneary is very powerful and was able to tire out [[Maylene]]'s {{p|Meditite}} enough so that {{TP|Dawn|Ambipom}} could defeat it. Her {{m|Ice Beam}}, which appears to be her main attack, is powerful enough to freeze an entire lake.

Oshawott originally belonged to [[Professor Juniper]], as one of the three [[starter Pokémon]] a new [[Pokémon Trainer]] could choose. Ash called him cute when he was sent out in ''[[BW001|In The Shadow of Zekrom!]]'', when [[Trip]] had to decide between the three starters. He then became extremely shocked when Trip chose {{p|Snivy}}. Soon after, he started taking interest in Ash, observing him but staying out of sight, and to the point that he left Professor Juniper's lab to follow him.

Oshawott appeared again in ''[[BW002|Enter Iris and Axew]]'' and used his [[scalchop]] to rescue [[Ash's Pikachu]] and [[Iris's Axew]] from the clutches of [[Team Rocket trio|Team Rocket]]. He later battled [[Jessie's Woobat]] briefly before Team Rocket escaped.

Eventually, Oshawott expressed interest in traveling with Ash and convinced Ash to take him along on his journey in ''[[BW003|A Sandile Gusher of Change!]]''. Ash only realized that he was Professor Juniper's Oshawott when he failed to capture it in a new [[Poké Ball]], and had to obtain a worried Professor Juniper's approval to allow Oshawott to travel with him and to request for Oshawott's Poké Ball. She permitted Oshawott to travel with Ash, but Oshawott had disappeared by the time Ash received his Poké Ball. After nearly falling into boiling hot water, Ash saves Oshawott by successfully returning him to his Poké Ball.

Oshawott was then used against Ash's Gym battle with {{an|Cilan}} and went up against {{TP|Cilan|Pansage}} in ''[[BW005|Triple Leaders, Team Threats!]]''. Oshawott's inexperience, slow speed, and clumsiness put it at a disadvantage during the battle. However, Ash's quick thinking managed to win them the match when Oshawott managed to deflected {{TP|Cilan|Pansage}}'s {{m|Bullet Seed}} and ultimately {{m|SolarBeam}} with his [[Scalchop]] in ''[[BW006|Dreams by the Yard Full!]]''. During that decisive match for the {{Badge|Trio}}, he subsequently used his scalchop in a {{m|Razor Shell}} attack to defeat {{an|Cilan}}'s Pansage, earning Ash a victory.

Oshawott was revealed to be male when he battled a wild female {{AP|Snivy}} that would be caught by Ash in ''[[BW007|Snivy Plays Hard to Catch!]]''. He became infatuated when hit by Snivy's {{m|Attract}}, and was eventually recalled.

In ''[[BW010|A Rival Battle for Club Champ!]]'', he was used to fight against [[Trip]]'s {{p|Tranquill}}. He was defeated by two quick and consecutive hits of {{m|Aerial Ace}}, due to Tranquill's {{a|Super Luck}} Ability, which increased Tranquill's chance of inflicting critical hits.

In ''[[BW015|The Battle According to Lenora!]]'', he battled [[Lenora]] and her {{p|Watchog}} after her {{p|Lillipup}}'s {{m|Roar}} pulled him onto the battlefield, to his surprise. Despite fighting well and making use of his scalchop as a shield again, he was defeated by a powerful {{m|Thunderbolt}} after Watchog separated him from his scalchop. In ''[[BW016|Rematch at the Nacrene Gym!]]'', Oshawott trained with Ash in the [[Battle Club]] to increase their speed and power. They trained in a wave pool and after Iris's Axew messed with the controls, Oshawott learned {{m|Aqua Jet}}, but had trouble with hitting the target. He battled Watchog again in Ash's rematch with Lenora after being pulled into battle again by Roar. He still showed some difficulty in controlling Aqua Jet, but he managed to hit Watchog on his third try. Unfortunately, he also knocked himself out in the process after taking a lot of damage from Watchog's Thunderbolt and {{m|Confuse Ray}} attacks, leaving [[Ash's Tepig]] to battle Lenora's {{p|Herdier}} alone.

In ''[[BW024|Emolga the Irresistible!]]'', Oshawott developed a crush on a wild {{TP|Iris|Emolga}}. When she used {{m|Attract}} on [[Bianca's Minccino]], Oshawott voluntarily jumped in the attack's path so he could get hit with it instead. Later on, he decided to go up against a group of {{p|Swoobat}} to protect Emolga. However, he was soon defeated by a powerful {{m|Charge Beam}}. On both occasions, Ash was forced to recall Oshawott to his Poké Ball. Later in ''[[BW025|Emolga and the New Volt Switch!]]'' he valiantly protected Emolga and Axew from some wild Watchog and retrieved them an apple each, however, a wild {{p|Simisear}} knocked him out, despite Emolga hardly caring.

In ''[[BW028|Oshawott's Lost Scalchop!]]'' Oshawott battled against [[Stephan]]'s {{p|Blitzle}}, where his scalchop ended up getting kicked out of his hands and off into the distance. Horrified, Oshawott chased after it but, alas, he could not find it. After many failed substitutes, [[Cilan's Dwebble]] crafted a new scalchop out of a nearby rock but it ended up being too big and too heavy for Oshawott. Ash then trained him, giving Oshawott the strength to carry the new scalchop. Unfortunately, it ended up being destroyed during a rematch with Blitzle, but Oshawott turned out to be much faster because of all the training and was able to defend himself without a scalchop. He soon defeated Blitzle with a lucky-shot {{m|Aqua Jet}} that sent them both crashing into a boulder. After the battle, Axew found the missing scalchop in the forest and returned it to Oshawott.

In ''[[BW031|Ash and Trip's Third Battle!]]'', Ash sent out Oshawott to battle Trip's {{p|Timburr}}. Ash commanded Oshawott to use Aqua Jet, which went out of control again. When Oshawott tried the move again, Trip took pictures of him. Trip called a time-out and then showed Ash pictures of Oshawott's face, and revealed that Oshawott's eyes were closed whenever he used it. Trip suggested that was why Oshawott had so much trouble controlling Aqua Jet. The battle resumed, and while both Pokémon used their "weapons" to full extent, Oshawott won out over Timburr using Razor Shell. Following Trip's advice, Ash trained Oshawott to open his eyes under water in ''[[BW032|Facing Fear with Eyes Wide Open!]]''. Oshawott was at a major disadvantage to a group of {{p|Tympole}} that attacked him while his eyes were closed, eventually, Oshawott opened his eyes and scared off the Tympole. Later when battling the {{AP|Palpitoad}} that ordered the first attack, Oshawott executed a perfect Aqua Jet, defeating it and enabling Ash to catch it.

In ''[[BW058|A Call for Brotherly Love!]]'', Oshawott was used in a battle against [[Chili's Pansear]]. After Oshawott volunteered to battle with Pansear, Ash decided that it was a good idea, and the battle commenced. Although Oshawott battled well, hitting Pansear with several powerful {{m|Razor Shell}}s, Pansear proved to be too strong and defeated Oshawott with its newly learned {{m|SolarBeam}}.

In ''[[BW061|Battling the King of the Mines!]]'', Oshawott was used first in the battle against [[Clay]], being sent out to battle his {{p|Krokorok}}, having the type advantage. However, Oshawott was prevented from using his {{type|Water}} attacks by Krokorok's {{m|Sandstorm}}, getting sand in his eyes and impairing his vision. Ash was able to get Oshawott back on track by spinning around and using Water Gun, which stopped the Sandstorm and washed out Oshawott's eyes when it rained down on him. With his usual accuracy regained, Oshawott was able to defeat Krokorok. He next went up against Clay's {{p|Palpitoad}}, where his Water Gun was far outmatched by Palpitoad's {{m|Hydro Pump}}. Then after Oshawott was hit by a {{m|Sludge Bomb}} attack, he lost track of his Scalchop, distracting him from the battle leading him to take a devastatingly powerful hit from {{m|Rock Smash}} and being defeated.

In ''[[BW066|Baffling the Bouffalant!]]'', Oshawott was seen scoffing his food and finishing his meal before all the others. Oshawott then went to take some of Tepig's food, but he noticed and tackled Oshawott. The two of them began to fight until Ash and Pikachu broke them up. After fleeing from a herd of stampeding {{p|Bouffalant}}, Oshawott ended up separated from his trainer; along with Iris, Axew, Snivy and Tepig. The group encountered [[Nurse Joy]] who gave them all ''curly wigs'' (Japanese: '''アフロ''' ''Afros'') so that they wouldn't be attacked anymore by Bouffalant. However, Oshawott started to poke fun at Tepig and they both started fighting again, with Oshawott's Water Gun knocking Axew into the middle of many Bouffalant, without his wig. After he and Tepig were scolded by Iris and Snivy, Axew was eventually rescued. After the five came across an injured Bouffalant, they set out to find some healing herbs to heal it. Axew soon spied some far up a cliff, and after both Iris and Snivy were unable to reach them, Oshawott attempted to knock them down with Water Gun but to no success. Tepig, without thinking, attempted to get them down with {{m|Flamethrower}}, but Oshawott smacked him and stopped his move. The two began fighting once again, until Snivy broke them up and told them a plan of her own. Oshawott was then thrown into the sky by Snivy, along with Tepig who rocketed him into the sky with Flamethrower, allowing Oshawott to reach the herbs. Oshawott and Tepig later laughed about their disagreements. Though they later squabbled once more in ''[[BW074|Battling the Leaf Thieves!]]'', after Oshawott laughed at Tepig wearing the leaf hood that {{AP|Leavanny}} had made him, despite Oshawott wearing one exactly the same.

==Personality and characteristics==

Oshawott's behavior is similar in a way to many of Ash's past Pokémon, notably [[Ash's Aipom|Aipom]], often attention-seeking and sometimes interfering. This was first shown in ''[[BW003|A Sandile Gusher of Change!]],'' when he wanted to travel with Ash, he jealously knocked Pikachu off Ash's shoulders and pretended that he was as close as Ash was to Pikachu. Then, when Ash was at the Pokémon [[Battle Club]] in ''[[BW004|The Battle Club and Tepig's Choice!]]'' battling another Trainer, he came out of his [[Poké Ball]], even though Ash had already clearly chosen Pikachu. However, he promptly changed his mind to battle when he realized that his opponent was {{p|Dewott}}, a Pokémon of his own evolved form. He has done this many other times, which also shows that Oshawott loves to battle, but only against opponents Oshawott thinks he can win against.

Oshawott acts proud and is a little boastful, but sometimes he can't back it up. He acts a little dramatic when things go wrong, or when he doesn't get his way. Like [[Ash's Aipom]] again, he seems to be a bit hyperactive. Oshawott also takes care of his scalchop, as he panics whenever he loses it and when he threw it down in anger in ''[[BW020|Dancing With the Ducklett Trio!]]'', he was happy afterwards when he picked it up and found out he hadn't done any major damage to it. He also gets very angry when someone steals his scalchop, as shown in ''[[BW017|Scraggy-Hatched to be Wild!]]'', when [[Ash's Scraggy]] took his scalchop. He is also shown to be quite lazy sometimes, as shown in ''[[BW015|The Battle According to Lenora!]]'', when he didn't want to battle Lenora's Watchog after just being sent out by {{m|Roar}}. He also seems to be a little flirtatious, as seen in ''[[BW024|Emolga the Irresistible!]]'', where he fell in love with a wild {{TP|Iris|Emolga}} and in ''[[BW044|Purrloin: Sweet or Sneaky?]]'', where he fell in love with a {{p|Purrloin}} that he thought was female. During the time when {{MTR}} was traveling with the group, Oshawott fought with him, usually when the two exploit two of their characteristics at the same time (falling in love with the same Pokémon, or when their prides are being entangled).

Oshawott originally belonged to [[Professor Juniper]], as one of the three [[starter Pokémon]] a new [[Pokémon Trainer]] could choose. Ash called him cute when he was sent out in ''[[BW001|In The Shadow of Zekrom!]]'', when [[Trip]] had to decide between the three starters. He then became extremely shocked when Trip chose {{p|Snivy}}. Soon after, he started taking interest in Ash, observing him but staying out of sight, and to the point that he left Professor Juniper's lab to follow him.

Oshawott appeared again in ''[[BW002|Enter Iris and Axew]]'' and used his [[scalchop]] to rescue [[Ash's Pikachu]] and [[Iris's Axew]] from the clutches of [[Team Rocket trio|Team Rocket]]. He later battled [[Jessie's Woobat]] briefly before Team Rocket escaped.

Eventually, Oshawott expressed interest in traveling with Ash and convinced Ash to take him along on his journey in ''[[BW003|A Sandile Gusher of Change!]]''. Ash only realized that he was Professor Juniper's Oshawott when he failed to capture it in a new [[Poké Ball]], and had to obtain a worried Professor Juniper's approval to allow Oshawott to travel with him and to request for Oshawott's Poké Ball. She permitted Oshawott to travel with Ash, but Oshawott had disappeared by the time Ash received his Poké Ball. After nearly falling into boiling hot water, Ash saves Oshawott by successfully returning him to his Poké Ball.

Oshawott was then used against Ash's Gym battle with {{an|Cilan}} and went up against {{TP|Cilan|Pansage}} in ''[[BW005|Triple Leaders, Team Threats!]]''. Oshawott's inexperience, slow speed, and clumsiness put it at a disadvantage during the battle. However, Ash's quick thinking managed to win them the match when Oshawott managed to deflected {{TP|Cilan|Pansage}}'s {{m|Bullet Seed}} and ultimately {{m|SolarBeam}} with his [[Scalchop]] in ''[[BW006|Dreams by the Yard Full!]]''. During that decisive match for the {{Badge|Trio}}, he subsequently used his scalchop in a {{m|Razor Shell}} attack to defeat {{an|Cilan}}'s Pansage, earning Ash a victory.

Oshawott was revealed to be male when he battled a wild female {{AP|Snivy}} that would be caught by Ash in ''[[BW007|Snivy Plays Hard to Catch!]]''. He became infatuated when hit by Snivy's {{m|Attract}}, and was eventually recalled.

In ''[[BW010|A Rival Battle for Club Champ!]]'', he was used to fight against [[Trip]]'s {{p|Tranquill}}. He was defeated by two quick and consecutive hits of {{m|Aerial Ace}}, due to Tranquill's {{a|Super Luck}} Ability, which increased Tranquill's chance of inflicting critical hits.

In ''[[BW015|The Battle According to Lenora!]]'', he battled [[Lenora]] and her {{p|Watchog}} after her {{p|Lillipup}}'s {{m|Roar}} pulled him onto the battlefield, to his surprise. Despite fighting well and making use of his scalchop as a shield again, he was defeated by a powerful {{m|Thunderbolt}} after Watchog separated him from his scalchop. In ''[[BW016|Rematch at the Nacrene Gym!]]'', Oshawott trained with Ash in the [[Battle Club]] to increase their speed and power. They trained in a wave pool and after Iris's Axew messed with the controls, Oshawott learned {{m|Aqua Jet}}, but had trouble with hitting the target. He battled Watchog again in Ash's rematch with Lenora after being pulled into battle again by Roar. He still showed some difficulty in controlling Aqua Jet, but he managed to hit Watchog on his third try. Unfortunately, he also knocked himself out in the process after taking a lot of damage from Watchog's Thunderbolt and {{m|Confuse Ray}} attacks, leaving [[Ash's Tepig]] to battle Lenora's {{p|Herdier}} alone.

In ''[[BW024|Emolga the Irresistible!]]'', Oshawott developed a crush on a wild {{TP|Iris|Emolga}}. When she used {{m|Attract}} on [[Bianca's Minccino]], Oshawott voluntarily jumped in the attack's path so he could get hit with it instead. Later on, he decided to go up against a group of {{p|Swoobat}} to protect Emolga. However, he was soon defeated by a powerful {{m|Charge Beam}}. On both occasions, Ash was forced to recall Oshawott to his Poké Ball. Later in ''[[BW025|Emolga and the New Volt Switch!]]'' he valiantly protected Emolga and Axew from some wild Watchog and retrieved them an apple each, however, a wild {{p|Simisear}} knocked him out, despite Emolga hardly caring.

In ''[[BW028|Oshawott's Lost Scalchop!]]'' Oshawott battled against [[Stephan]]'s {{p|Blitzle}}, where his scalchop ended up getting kicked out of his hands and off into the distance. Horrified, Oshawott chased after it but, alas, he could not find it. After many failed substitutes, [[Cilan's Dwebble]] crafted a new scalchop out of a nearby rock but it ended up being too big and too heavy for Oshawott. Ash then trained him, giving Oshawott the strength to carry the new scalchop. Unfortunately, it ended up being destroyed during a rematch with Blitzle, but Oshawott turned out to be much faster because of all the training and was able to defend himself without a scalchop. He soon defeated Blitzle with a lucky-shot {{m|Aqua Jet}} that sent them both crashing into a boulder. After the battle, Axew found the missing scalchop in the forest and returned it to Oshawott.

In ''[[BW031|Ash and Trip's Third Battle!]]'', Ash sent out Oshawott to battle Trip's {{p|Timburr}}. Ash commanded Oshawott to use Aqua Jet, which went out of control again. When Oshawott tried the move again, Trip took pictures of him. Trip called a time-out and then showed Ash pictures of Oshawott's face, and revealed that Oshawott's eyes were closed whenever he used it. Trip suggested that was why Oshawott had so much trouble controlling Aqua Jet. The battle resumed, and while both Pokémon used their "weapons" to full extent, Oshawott won out over Timburr using Razor Shell. Following Trip's advice, Ash trained Oshawott to open his eyes under water in ''[[BW032|Facing Fear with Eyes Wide Open!]]''. Oshawott was at a major disadvantage to a group of {{p|Tympole}} that attacked him while his eyes were closed, eventually, Oshawott opened his eyes and scared off the Tympole. Later when battling the {{AP|Palpitoad}} that ordered the first attack, Oshawott executed a perfect Aqua Jet, defeating it and enabling Ash to catch it.

In ''[[BW058|A Call for Brotherly Love!]]'', Oshawott was used in a battle against [[Chili's Pansear]]. After Oshawott volunteered to battle with Pansear, Ash decided that it was a good idea, and the battle commenced. Although Oshawott battled well, hitting Pansear with several powerful {{m|Razor Shell}}s, Pansear proved to be too strong and defeated Oshawott with its newly learned {{m|SolarBeam}}.

In ''[[BW061|Battling the King of the Mines!]]'', Oshawott was used first in the battle against [[Clay]], being sent out to battle his {{p|Krokorok}}, having the type advantage. However, Oshawott was prevented from using his {{type|Water}} attacks by Krokorok's {{m|Sandstorm}}, getting sand in his eyes and impairing his vision. Ash was able to get Oshawott back on track by spinning around and using Water Gun, which stopped the Sandstorm and washed out Oshawott's eyes when it rained down on him. With his usual accuracy regained, Oshawott was able to defeat Krokorok. He next went up against Clay's {{p|Palpitoad}}, where his Water Gun was far outmatched by Palpitoad's {{m|Hydro Pump}}. Then after Oshawott was hit by a {{m|Sludge Bomb}} attack, he lost track of his Scalchop, distracting him from the battle leading him to take a devastatingly powerful hit from {{m|Rock Smash}} and being defeated.

In ''[[BW066|Baffling the Bouffalant!]]'', Oshawott was seen scoffing his food and finishing his meal before all the others. Oshawott then went to take some of Tepig's food, but he noticed and tackled Oshawott. The two of them began to fight until Ash and Pikachu broke them up. After fleeing from a herd of stampeding {{p|Bouffalant}}, Oshawott ended up separated from his trainer; along with Iris, Axew, Snivy and Tepig. The group encountered [[Nurse Joy]] who gave them all ''curly wigs'' (Japanese: '''アフロ''' ''Afros'') so that they wouldn't be attacked anymore by Bouffalant. However, Oshawott started to poke fun at Tepig and they both started fighting again, with Oshawott's Water Gun knocking Axew into the middle of many Bouffalant, without his wig. After he and Tepig were scolded by Iris and Snivy, Axew was eventually rescued. After the five came across an injured Bouffalant, they set out to find some healing herbs to heal it. Axew soon spied some far up a cliff, and after both Iris and Snivy were unable to reach them, Oshawott attempted to knock them down with Water Gun but to no success. Tepig, without thinking, attempted to get them down with {{m|Flamethrower}}, but Oshawott smacked him and stopped his move. The two began fighting once again, until Snivy broke them up and told them a plan of her own. Oshawott was then thrown into the sky by Snivy, along with Tepig who rocketed him into the sky with Flamethrower, allowing Oshawott to reach the herbs. Oshawott and Tepig later laughed about their disagreements. Though they later squabbled once more in ''[[BW074|Battling the Leaf Thieves!]]'', after Oshawott laughed at Tepig wearing the leaf hood that {{AP|Leavanny}} had made him, despite Oshawott wearing one exactly the same.

==Personality and characteristics==

Oshawott's behavior is similar in a way to many of Ash's past Pokémon, notably [[Ash's Aipom|Aipom]], often attention-seeking and sometimes interfering. This was first shown in ''[[BW003|A Sandile Gusher of Change!]],'' when he wanted to travel with Ash, he jealously knocked Pikachu off Ash's shoulders and pretended that he was as close as Ash was to Pikachu. Then, when Ash was at the Pokémon [[Battle Club]] in ''[[BW004|The Battle Club and Tepig's Choice!]]'' battling another Trainer, he came out of his [[Poké Ball]], even though Ash had already clearly chosen Pikachu. However, he promptly changed his mind to battle when he realized that his opponent was {{p|Dewott}}, a Pokémon of his own evolved form. He has done this many other times, which also shows that Oshawott loves to battle, but only against opponents Oshawott thinks he can win against.

Oshawott acts proud and is a little boastful, but sometimes he can't back it up. He acts a little dramatic when things go wrong, or when he doesn't get his way. Like [[Ash's Aipom]] again, he seems to be a bit hyperactive. Oshawott also takes care of his scalchop, as he panics whenever he loses it and when he threw it down in anger in ''[[BW020|Dancing With the Ducklett Trio!]]'', he was happy afterwards when he picked it up and found out he hadn't done any major damage to it. He also gets very angry when someone steals his scalchop, as shown in ''[[BW017|Scraggy-Hatched to be Wild!]]'', when [[Ash's Scraggy]] took his scalchop. He is also shown to be quite lazy sometimes, as shown in ''[[BW015|The Battle According to Lenora!]]'', when he didn't want to battle Lenora's Watchog after just being sent out by {{m|Roar}}. He also seems to be a little flirtatious, as seen in ''[[BW024|Emolga the Irresistible!]]'', where he fell in love with a wild {{TP|Iris|Emolga}} and in ''[[BW044|Purrloin: Sweet or Sneaky?]]'', where he fell in love with a {{p|Purrloin}} that he thought was female. During the time when {{MTR}} was traveling with the group, Oshawott fought with him, usually when the two exploit two of their characteristics at the same time (falling in love with the same Pokémon, or when their prides are being entangled).

Oshawott has recently found a new crush on a Genderless ''[[Meloetta_(anime)|Meloetta!]]'' and has a rival in the form of ''[[Dawn's Piplup!]]'' who is also attracted to Meloetta as seen in ''[[BW086!]]''

Yeah Level/evolving seems to have very little standing in the show, I mean [[Ash's Charmander]] knew flamethrower when he caught it. {{Unsigned|Cahillbro}}

And wait we shall... this evolution debate has become very big and exciting across forums now. It's actually quite an interesting puzzle to work out all the clues and look at the facts to see what will happen. I still hope it evolves, because that would be a big surprise. It would be fantastic if we saw a preview of it evolving... the white light surrounding its body, it changing shape, the white light disappearing and it being permanently changed into a Prinplup. This would be fun to see, but sadly, all signs are pointing to it not evolving... most people on different forums have said things like "It may just be Piplup's Mysterious Garden", "Piplup might just have got run away lessons from Misty's Psyduck" and my personal favourite "Piplup might pull a Bulbasaur". Currently I'd say 80% chance it'll not evolve, 20% it will.

We have to wait just over half a month, but it'll be totally worth it to see the answer. Plus, as time goes on, we may start seeing previews and pics, and then the Arceus poster might get updated with Piplup replaced with Prinplup... the suspense is killing me! Oh yeah, just one more thing. If it turns out that it doesn't evolve and it stays the same, I won't be furious or anything. The only evidence pointing toward Piplup being female is that cheerleader outfit from [[DP061]], and that's highly debatable since {{TP|Dawn|Pachirisu}} also wore one and its head stripe is heavy evidence pointing toward it being male. The fact that it's voiced by females means nothing--[[Madame Muchmoney's Snubbull]] is a confirmed female yet in the dub was voiced by a male in that evolution state, while [[Ash's Totodile]] is heavily pointed toward being male yet is voiced by females.

:::There's actually more evidence that points toward Piplup being male--there's the embarrasment in that maid outfit from [[DP062]] and Dawn interpreting Piplup's speech using a masculine pronoun in the Japanese version of [[DP087]]. ****, if it weren't for {{Special|Yellow}} and [[Anabel]], that interpretation of Piplup's speech would probably have been taken as rock-solid evidence that Piplup is male.

Can someone that understands Japanese watch the episode and answer a question for me that I am curious about? I am wondering if Ash was specifically trying to capture Sandile during the battle before it evolved into Waruvile (before Pikachu sent it blasting off), or if Sandile/Waruvile just wanted to have a battle with Pikachu for some other reason (i.e. to see who was stronger, rivalry, etc.)? ==History==

Tepig once belonged to another {{pkmn|Trainer}} who abandoned him after he lost to a {{p|Deerling}} in battle. Tepig was tied to a post. When [[Don George]] tried to untie him, Tepig broke free of his bonds and began searching for his trainer. When Ash visited the {{To|Accumula}} Pokémon [[Battle Club]] in ''[[BW004|The Battle Club and Tepig's Choice!]]'', Ash mistook Tepig for an {{p|Umbreon}} when watching a security tape of him stealing food from the nearby warehouse. In an attempt to capture the 'Umbreon', Ash then met Tepig for the first time when it was trying to eat some bait. He realized that Tepig was covered in soot and was unable to eat as there was a rope tied around his mouth, making him extremely hungry. Initially, Tepig tried to run away, but after being cornered by Ash and having its rope removed, he was carried back to the Battle Club by Ash.
Later on, Tepig volunteered to help Ash retrieve his {{AP|Pikachu}} from [[Team Rocket]]. Later, when {{an|Iris}} wanted to capture Tepig, it refused and decided it wanted to join Ash's team, and Ash caught him in a [[Poké Ball]].

Tepig fought for Ash during his [[Striaton Gym]] battle in ''[[BW005|Triple Leaders, Team Threats!]]'', against [[Chili]] and his {{p|Pansear}}. Tepig's attacks didn't do much damage to Pansear, but Pansear managed to hit Tepig with {{m|Fire Punch}}, {{m|Flamethrower}} and {{m|Dig}}. One of Pansear's Dig attack sent Tepig into the air. Ash then commanded him to dive into the hole that Pansear was in and he managed to bite Pansear's tail. Although Pansear threw Tepig onto the ground, he managed to get up and spun Pansear around, throwing him to the ground. He used {{m|Ember}} successfully, and then knocked Pansear out with a powerful {{m|Tackle}}.

Tepig was revealed to be male in ''[[BW007|Snivy Plays Hard to Catch!]]'' when he battled a wild {{AP|Snivy}} that would eventually be caught by Ash. Although he managed to use an Ember attack, he was hit by the Snivy's {{m|Attract}} and became infatuated with her, causing him to be recalled.

In ''[[BW010|A Rival Battle for Club Champ!]]'', he was used to fight against [[Trip]]'s {{p|Tranquill}}. Like {{AP|Oshawott}} before him, he was defeated by two consecutive {{m|Aerial Ace}}s due to Tranquill's {{a|Super Luck}} ability.

In [[BW015]], he battled [[Lenora]]'s {{p|Lillipup}}, which promptly used {{m|Roar}} to force Tepig back into his Poké Ball. After Lenora's {{p|Watchog}} defeated Oshawott, it fought Lillipup again and was defeated. In [[BW016]], he battled against Lenora's newly-evolved {{p|Herdier}}, which soon used Roar to force Tepig back into his Poké Ball again. After Watchog and Oshawott knocked each other out, Tepig battled Herdier again and won using its newly-learned {{m|Flame Charge}}.

He had his third gym battle agaist the {{type2|Bug}} gym leader [[Burgh]] in [[BW025]], despite Ash planning to win with a type advantage, Burgh sent out a {{p|Dwebble}} which won with its own type advantage, giving Tepig little chance to do anything.

==Personality==

Tepig has been shown to not take losing very well, often getting sad when he loses, such as in ''[[BW010|A Rival Battle for Club Champ!]]'' where he fought and lost to [[Trip]]'s Tranquil. This was shown again during Ash's battle against [[Lenora]] the gym leader of the [[Nacrene Gym]]. He fought against her {{p|Lillipup}} and lost getting depressed again, not even cheering up when Ash told him he did a good job. Tepig has also been shown to not take insults well, such as in [[BW019]] when [[Cabernet]] called it hopeless, naive, and not suitable for battle. Tepig then proceeded to use {{m|Ember}} on her in anger.
